    Juicin' July-Week 3

I guess my comment about it being winter here didn't go down to well! :H

But seriously, i know summer heat can be dangerous to our animals and humans alike. Hope everyone's as comfortable as possible.

Congratulations on your AF time Witts! Are you at day 48 or there abouts? Wow! That is a huge accomplishment, and you are a real star. I'm sure you are very proud of yourself, and so you should be. Keep up the great work taking your precious life back.

It's friday morning here which means POETS day.

    Pull a POETS everyone!

    Yo! :h

      hello all
I have just chalked up 7 weeks

hubby was the one the coped my alcohol if I had a problem alcohol gave me the courage to say it but it never came out the right way ....or I would blackout and think I just went to bed and sleep only to give him an ear full .....and I was non the wiser it got that way that I would have wait and see what mood he was in when I said good morning to see if I did something the night before ......he just blamed me for all our problems and he wouldn't acknowledge his depression and mood swings ( bi-polo ) was behind everything

anyway I'm not going there anymore and now he can't blame me

and it's friday and loverly sunny winters day here if the wind dosn't come up
      have a good day everyone

        Good morning...

Guitarista, I find it fascintating that it is winter in your part of the world. Actually, it sounds kinda good as it would be such a contrast to this heat! I love the changing seasons, it makes life more interesting.

Hope you are doing well and making your music.

Lav, two two year olds? You ARE a warrior grandmother!! How kind of you to ice your chickens to keep them cool. It is unbearable. I was so crabby and sweaty at work yesterday. I was able to leave early and went to the pool ASAP, and it felt good to be in the water.

Dill, I do understand that your husband asking you to become AF complicated it for you. You wanted to do it for you, not him. He might have been a little scared too. I think that loved ones don't always know what to do.

Witts end, you are doing so well. I think when drinking it is easy to be blamed as we often blame ourselves.

I am up early, still dark out. I am looking forward to spending the day on a lake and being outside. I hope I can take the heat. I just needed to get away from work for a while. I would love to have two entire weeks off, but that is not going to happen so I will take what I can get. Living in the present moment!!! Hope everyone is doing well. Have a lovely Friday.

          Good morning friends

Overcast, hot & humid, etc, etc, etc

G, please share some of that cooler weather with us please!
I hate listening to the news & hearing how people are dying from this heat - terrible.

This warrior granny has 3 days off from child care :H
But I do have to get caught up with my business. I have paying customers waiting for their embroidered shirts.

Star, hope you get some nice cool lake breezes today.

Dill, talk about husbands complicating things......
YB was miserable before I started my professional drinking & remained miserable after I quit. As a matter of fact he's still miserable. His problem ~ not mine :H

Witts, CONGRATS on 7 AF weeks - great job!

Have a great AF Friday everyone & stay cool

            Hi All,
Lav, it's too bad about YB's perpetual state of misery. I thought he was taking antidepressants. Did he stop or does he need a stronger dose?! Does he drink?

Star, I hope you enjoyed your day at the lake. Did you sit on the beach or take a boat ride? We FINALLY put our boat in the water last week! We are keeping it at a small lake that is just a half hour drive away. We went out on the boat this morning for a fun little escape. G-son had the time of his life! I thought of you being out at your lake virtually at the same time as I was at mine.

Witts, very good decision on your part. No need to be shouldering blame or harboring guilt/remorse. Who needs it! Thanks for joining our little group. It's been nice getting to know you. Send some of your and Mr. G's cold weather up our way, PLEASE!:H

Off to pick up g-daughter from day care. Happy AF Friday!
            Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

Dill, they don't call it 'chronic, severe depression' for nothing!
I kicked his behind right into a psychiatrist's office exactly 10 years ago this month. He was so out of control it wasn't funny. We were moving into our new house, he was supposed to be adjusting to retirement from the PD. I honestly don't know if he is still on the Cymbalta or not. I don't think he is but haven't bothered to ask because he's known to not be truthful about that kind of stuff. He drinks very little any more primarily because his dad had a huge problem that eventually killed him.
YB put a case of beer in my garage fridge several weeks ago (without asking me). Most of it is still there, I won't touch it
Just now, while I was writing this he sent me a text message saying he'd like to go out to dinner.

I'll go as long as he's paying :H:H

I inadvertently taught my granddaughter to say 'that's weird' this week! Can you guess how many times I heard that phrase the past four days? :H

                  Juicin' July-Week 3

                  Good morning...

It was fun at the lake, we sat in chairs in the lake and talked. It was so hot I wore a hat and slathered myself in 50 sunscreen, still getting a little red. We had a picnic outside in the shade. It was so humid, a real hot summer day. Drank sun tea and water. I was so tired last night from all the time spend outdoors. Today, it is supposed to be cooler, but it hasn't happened yet. I have to get household chores completed, pay a bill, plan a weekly menu and possibly shop too. Plus, if it is nice, pool time. I love being outside. And I want to look for that book you recommended Dill.

So, hello to Lav, glad you have some time to catch up on your own life. Nice to be asked out for dinner.

Dill, hope you had fun at your lake. It sounds easier to keep the boat at a lake rather than having to launch it each time.

Witt, good to hear from you, hope you keep warm and cozy. Maybe cook up a stew or some soup. I am dying for a hot soup, but not practical here with the current weather.

To all, hello, let's get moving on our Saturday.

                    Good morning Star & everyone!

Up at 6:30 with a dog to find it's still super humid outside
Glad you enjoyed your time at the lake Star, sounds like fun.

I'm going to plant myself in my shop shortly. I have a job waiting to be done that will likely take me all day. Just as well because it's nice & cool in there

                    Witts, I agree, make soup!!!

Have a great AF Saturday everyone!

“You can’t get back the time in the past. You can’t change it. You can only make sure to learn and move forward.”
                      ― J.B. McGee, Forgiven

I'm feeling reflective today and have been ruminating over past mistakes and so much time lost in a wine-soaked haze and so many days struggling to recover from the previous night....UGH! I wish could change some things, but as the quote above says, "you can't". So I'll keep moving forward. Forward is good.

Star, your day floating in chairs in the lake, that sounds like just my kind of thing! I wonder if I might not buy one of those floating chairs and tether it to the back of the boat. Yes, it is nice to keep the boat moored and not have to launch and spend the gas on hauling it back and forth.

Witt, I agree with Star. Cook up a good soup or stew. I've been wanting to do that in my crock pot bit it is too darn hot for that kind of food. We've been firing up the barbecue and eating cold salads. I could relate to your comment the other day about waiting to see what kind of response you would get when saying "Good morning" to Mr. W. I have had those kind of mornings when I was not at all sure what I had done or said the previous night. What a crappy way to start the day. Ugh! Best not to go back there!

Lav, Did you get your work accomplished? I thought about you buying ice for the hens. Are you still having to do that? Did it help?

We've just had a pop up shower that brought our temps down. Feels grand!

Missing Pappy, Rusty and Cyn! Helloooooo!

Dill, I've been in & out of my shop all day & I will get this job completed sometime tomorrow.
Yes, still buying ice for the girls, they seem to be enjoying it too - they're all still alive, egg production way down of course.

I won't allow myself to think about past mistakes/behaviors, any of that. We can't change it but we certainly have learned the lesson we came to learn - right?

I'll take some of that cooler air if you have any to spare!

well the cold snap lasted 1 day to - day is beautiful like a spring day ....if this is winter I love it but dread the thought of summer it's going to be hot and the humidity will be horrible and draining
don't know why but am still getting headaches may have to get it checked if they keep up
does anyone have a remedy for restless legs mine are terrible at night .......hubby recons I'm kicking him out of bed all night ( I dare say he's exaggerating ) but I know they play up something terrible before I go to sleep
I just say I'm not responsible for what happens when I'm asleep ( he probably blamed my aggression when I was drinking but he can't say that now )
anyway have a great day everyone

                            Good morning kids!

Still hot & humid here ~ same old story.
Had a fantastic lightning show last night but no rain to cool things off

Witts, I occasionally deal with restless leg syndrome too. There are prescription medications available if you think you need them. My preference is to try other things first. I think caffeine may be the culprit for me.

                              Good Morning Juicing Friends,

So sorry that I have been MIA last week. I worked long hours every day and had long commutes every day of an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 45, but I've been reading.

Dill-thank you for the quote.:l Like you, I have ruminated lately about my past mistakes while under the influence, and I cringe to think of conversations I had that I can't remember. What I've done is to apologize, either verbally or in writing, to people I KNOW I had conversations with that I could not remember....family and friends. It feels good to be forgiven....I guess I need to know that. And yes, moving forward is the best.

Star-I'm glad you got to sit in a chair whilst enjoying the lake. I see people doing that in the lake near where I live and I think, "GREAT IDEA." Your day sounded relaxing.

Witts-I'm glad the weather is back to being nice, and your soup sounds delicious. Sorry you are suffering from RLS. I think our Papmom suffers from that also.

A shout out to Papmom....I kinow you're on Facebook and Lav can "see" you but we would like to see you, too.

Lav-hope you get your work project done today. I'll be working part of the day, too.

Big hellos to everyone else...hope you have a fabulous AF Sunday.

                                Hello AF Friends,

Lav, you are amazing with the links! Thankfully I don't have restless leg syndrome so I didn't check this one out, but I usually do follow your links and always learn something. I like learning new things. Sure hope your weather cools off for you today!

Rusty, I'm glad you finally got a chance to post. I was definitely going through "RWS" (Rusty Withdrawal Syndrome). I bet Lav can't find a website for that one!:H Then again....maybe she can! It's brave of you to have acknowledged and apologized for forgotten conversations. I am simply letting the water go under the bridge. Onward and upward! Speaking of water, we've got the boat in the lake, finally! We are loving it. We stay home on weekends when the lake is busy, but Mon-Friday it is very quiet. It's like our own private lake! I hope things calm down for you this week.:l

Witts, no advice from me on restless leg, but you might use it as an excuse to get a bigger bed. We have a king size bed and I love it! My legs could be restless for all I know, Mr. D would be blissfully unaware of it over on his half of the bed.

                                Have a great AF Sunday!
