Well done on 60 days, Witt! Wow, we already have to think of August names?! Where does the time go?

Witts, CONGRATS on 60 AF days :goodjob:
I hope your gardening goes better than mine is right now. I couldn't keep up with the weeds produced by excessive rains & heat.

Dill, I had my AC off for 24 hours then turned it back on. It's not all that hot but the humidity is still outrageous. Glad you got some boat time today ~ sweet

I can honestly say I am tired after a full day of watching my 2 grandsons but I find myself absolutely spent after just half of a day with my granddaughter. What's up with that? :H I pretty much know that she's not used to hearing the word NO very often so I am kindly & gently getting her used to the fact that sometimes the answer is NO :H

I've been wanting to go to Ikea lately but hate driving myself to Baltimore on the too busy highway. The two stores in PA are even further away. So YB offered to drive & pay for my purchases too (I should have bought more stuff)
I know he is trying to make amends in his own bizarre way - so I'm just letting him :H

Have to think of an August thread name....

Rusty, I am so happy I stopped fighting the beast when I did, I was never going to win. None of us can win that fight. We all now know that it's smarter & just easier to accept that we can no longer drink safely!

          Good morning to all...

I have been having problems with this site, logging in continuously, getting bumped off. I gave up yesterday after several tries.

Lav, Acceptance. A concept I will focus on this week. A huge concept for me is realizing that I cannot control anyone else, only myself. And controlling myself is a fulltime job. Happy to hear YB is being generous and kind, let's hope it lasts!! What did you get at Ikea?

Rusty, loved your post, thanks for taking the time. Change is part of life, yet is hard at the same time. I guess the right kind of change. It is a useless waste of time to compare to others. Whenever I do that, I end of up getting depressed. Plus, when you really get to know people, we all have our challenges, so what did we really compare ourselves to?

Dill, isn't it lovely weather? I found another author I am just starting, and so far like it. My friend recommended a book by a Judith Flanders, but it is too dry. I really tried, but decided I am done with it. Great you are enjoying your boat. I took two walks and a bike ride yesterday, it was lovely, and had to wear a light sweatshirt. In July.

Wittsend, sounds like every day is getting better. It will continue.

Back to work today, I am going to take time to meditate and do a little yoga. Hope you all have a good start to your week.

Hello All, still thinking about August names. This is when I really miss Chill. She had the knack!

Witts, I completely agree about the relief of 'handing them back'! That's something I can't look forward to for awhile with son and his kids under roof for now. Sigh. On the up side, we are NEVER bored!:H

Star, I picked up the book my friend recommended and got started. So far, so good, but it is too soon to say if I can recommend it. I'll let you know. Yes, I have been loving the weather! I also took a bike ride yesterday. I never broke a sweat. It was lovely.

Lav, you mentioned a couple days ago the fear you had when you started this AF journey. It reminded me of the emotions I experienced back at the beginning. I was absolutely petrified at the thought of not drinking! I was obsessed with the whole thing, and unable to think about much of anything else. I even read book after book of recovery stories. If I couldn't drink, I felt like the next best thing was to read about people facing the same . I was so relieved back then to find MWO and have a safe place to talkabout it all and share the journey with kindred spirits. I found so much inspiration in the stories of DG, reteacher, determinator, cinders, and countless others. They have helped so many with there honesty and tenacity. So have you.:h

              It can be done.

                Good Tuesday morning kids

The toddler slept in until 7 am, grateful for that much!
My daughter is doing well in her summer course, grateful for that as well.

Not sure what I doing today in addition to kid duties ~ time will tell
Wishing everyone a wonderful AF day!

                    Good Afternoon,

Working hard, and having a good day. Much better week than last week.

Hubby has the pump up and running so will be busy planting out seedlings

You have a giant tomato tree over there that looks interesting but don't think it will get though customs

Witts, you have survived winter and have achieved 2 months AF (alcohol free). May this Spring be AF for you and filled with possibilities!

Rusty, glad your week is going well. What did you find when you googled "ute"? I had guessed "utility vehicle", but I was just guessing.

Star, hope your day went well.

Lav, did you get up to anything special today? It was just a regular day here. Tried some kitchen experiments with Matt, but that's about it.

                        Happy AF Tuesday everyone.

Congrats Witts - you are doing great
I don't have any tomato trees in my garden, just a few plants & they are kind of sad looking. I've been buying tomatoes from the farmer down the road

Dill, I ended up with out Matt here too this afternoon for a while. He actually helps keep Ms Lily out of my hair long enough so I can do a little something. Today I made a gluten free peach cobbler with peaches I got from the same Amish farmer - good

Time to call it a day! Hi there Rusty!!!

                            Good morning to all..

Rusty, glad to hear your week is going well. Mine too, just extremely busy! We never know what is going on with people at home, so best to focus on our own issues. I am amazed at how people are so hard on themselves, we all need to be gentle and our own best friend.

Dill, lovely quote, I do love to garden, but by the end of July, I am only interested in maintaining. I do need to divide my iris, maybe this weekend.

Lav, my tomato is on my counter. One tomato. Did not go well this year. Oh, well, I can buy them at the market.

Wittsend, so happy you are doing so well.

Pap, hope you visit us soon, you are probably busy.

To all, have a great hump day.

Greetings friends on this very last day of July!

Overcast once again, more rain on the way I hear. The weeds just love this weather pattern :H

I have an appointment at 11 so I have to run.
Wishing everyone a terrific AF Hump Day!
