MAE my friends ? definitely E here in that it is evening. Another day at work ?not too bad today. My house is now full of daffodils (the belated birthday flowers) and a cool necklace - I am not going to say no to these gifts that came late in the day. As I said ? its over and my complaints are nothing in the scheme of things. Absolutely not that important ?but man, was I pissed off yesterday. So thanks for your cheer and support. As you know a year ago I would have drunk my way out of being hurt and sad.

And apart from Lav?s vegan strawberry cupcakes (yumyum thanks Lav) I discovered a new decadence ? gingernut icecream. It's the full fat, creamy icecream we do so well here ? and its sublime. I felt a bit full and fat afterwards.

I love the idea of a mystery chick being sent to you!

Mick ?you awake yet! I thought you were up at 5am, building hutches and polishing the silver for the A. Roadshow.:H

Blondie ? yes, we have to keep those Northerners on their feet (or on their heads)???

Cinders ? Sorry, I must have missed one of your posts ? what?s the situation re work and being away from family? Try to take your time to make a decision. I know ist not easy.

PPQP ? have you sorted the meal schedules out? Yep, I know all about that. My meal planning is much more on track these days now that I don?t have the excuse of dashing into the supermarket for those essential bottles of wine every few days - which is when I could also do last minute shopping ? so I wouldn?t look like I just came in for wine. Haha ? who was I kidding ?not myself that's for sure.:l I can also get my family to help lift the groceries out of the car now as I don?t have to hide the clink clink of the wine bottles.

Sam ? thanks for the wishes and sounds like you are doing really well in the AF zone.

Bear- you too sound good ? so hang on in there. Coat, new shoes, gloves ? coming up.

The detective then turned to the second blonde, stuck the photo in her face for two seconds, pulled it back, and said,"What about you? Notice anything unusual or Outstanding about this man?"
"Yes! He only has one ear!"
The detective put his head in his hands and exclaimed, "Didn't you hear what I just told the other lady? This is side picture profile of the man's face! Of course you can only see one ear! You're excused too!"
The second blonde sheepishly walked out of the office.
The detective turned his attention to the third and last blonde and said, "This is probably a waste of time, but...." He flashed the photo in her face for a couple of seconds and withdrew it, saying, "All right, did you notice anything distinguishing or unusual features about this man?"
The blonde said, "I sure did. This man wears contact lenses."
The detective frowned, took another look at the picture, and began looking at some of the papers in the folder. He looked up at the blonde with a puzzled expression and said, "You're absolutely right! His bio says he wears contacts! How in the world could you tell that by looking at his picture?"
The blonde rolled her eyes and said, "Well, Helloooo! With only one eye and one ear, he certainly can't wear glasses."

The doors on my Amish built shed are rotting badly. We've asked them to build new doors for us & they said they would but so far nothing. I may have to fly you over here so you can make the doors for me!!!! At least it would give you a chance to see the real Amish, not the TV version :H

I need to get myself to Curves, have been a bot off schedule. The kids were all here yesterday to meet the new chicks & drive me nuts, naturally!!!

Must add calcium to pool this a.m. then do some paperwork and off to AA tonight.

Evening all - conference done - I'm so lucky in my line of work that there is no alcohol.
I have done load of washing,tidied up clean washing and done some life admin.
I'm on a course tomorrow as well - but back in my office and it's casual dress day. Looking forward to another lazy evening in with OH, cats and curry tomorrow.

So I went out and took a photo of my chicken yard area. The grey one was what I built this summer. i noticed closer to me a snapping turtle, unusual to see one there but we do have 2 ponds and there's a creek in the woods.




The guineas discovered it a few minutes later and raised all kinds of hell.

TT...thanks for kicking us off and no I haven't sorted the meal plans yet. Did cook a stew in the crock pot the other day so will be searching for more recipes.

Mick...don't think I've had any me time all week so thanks for the reminder. I hadn't realized just how dysfunctional the office really is. Wow! The Childcare staff are worried that I'm going to burn out because I actually care about the association and take pride in my work. Apparently they both say a little prayer before they go home "Please don't let Ann quit" :H I figure by next week things will settle down and I am still planning on heading to Banff with my seniors on Oct 8th. The rabbit apartment looks great. I want to come back as one of Mick's rabbits.

Lav...they look sooooo cute. I bet the kids were excited to see them. If Mick's coming over to fix the doors I want to come too. I'm sure you could find something for me to do.

Sam...great pics. You guys are making me want to get into chickens. How do you think they'd do on the balcony of the condo?

Bear...casual dress Friday...boy that brought back memories. I don't think I could have gone back to work if I actually had to dress up. That is one reason the community centre works so well for me, shorts in the summer and jeans and a sweat shirt in the winter. Glad your conferences are over, you're sounding strong these days. Keep it up.

Well I have no idea what I'm having for dinner tonight. Any invites out there? Have a great AF evening all.....PPQP

I find one in my yard every once in a while too although it is a fair walk uphill from the creek
There hasn't been a blade of grass in my chicken yard for years, they got it all. I throw grass clippings & other green, weedy things in there for them. Nice job on the chicken condo!

bear, you sound good, I'm glad.

The kids have been very excited with the chicks. I have to play security guard because they want to pick them up to play with them, naturally!

Happy Thursday! Took tomorrow off as it is Friday the 13th....hubby and I got engaged on Friday the 13th....so we always plan to do something together. Tomorrow is lunch at a fancy place.

Yesterday a fellow recovery friend texted me that we were getting our 90 day chips.....as we started going to the program at the same time. I had not noticed....as I have been AF longer than that....

Then for some reason I started to think about white wine. WTH....wine was not even my drink of choice! Even in my mind....a glass turned into a box. Went and bought an expensive yoga mat I have been wanting instead. The expensive yoga mat looks cheap in comparison to where my thoughts were headed

I take this as the odd brain pathway that I created. Gosh....didn't I drink enough alcohol to kill those brain cells:H Apparently I get to keep them forever. Thoughts are just thoughts....as long as I don't act on them and be aware of what they are....just thoughts and knee jerk brain reactions to a past life.

AS for the white wine - lets deconstruct the images -from an enticing chilled glass of crisp wine to a no brand box - (in a ghastly color) - then take the wine out of the box - hey its in a thick plastic bladder - its warm - its a disgusting yellow, it smells like rancid nail varnish, its got gloopy bubbles in it that look like floatsam from the effluent from a dodgy factory (soon to be condemned) - now raise that to your lovely lips (inside the restaurant) and gulp - appealing huh??:H:H

TT....I skipped the "in a chilled glass" part. Three minutes in....I was already hiding the box in the closet....that is when the insanity stopped. The thing is....I never did this in real life....but, probably at some point "thought" it might be a good idea.

I could never pull this off anyways......the reason I did not drink wine was because I went from sober to fall down drunk in no time flat.

I got a new yoga mat out of the deal....maybe my brain just wanted a good excuse to spend that kinda money on a mat. Used it today.....and LOVED it!
