We usually get hit with things like car insurances here but at least we don't usually have to worry about litigation at work (at least not as individuals) - we also have a system called ACC whereby you can't sue another person over any type of accident for health injuries - this is all covered by ACC ( which we pay for through a special tax). It seems to be quite a good system.

Yes Sam it makes a wonderful difference facing crises etc without AL. Often hard for newbies to realise this. I also find now that I celebrate less (and commiserate less) as there is no AL after such crises- so it helps to put things more on an even keel and allow me to get on with life - or really deal with my feelings and situation - as there is not going to be an alcoholic cave to crawl into anymore. It's caved in for good!

So happy you got through the legal crap without becoming a jailbird, Sam! All of our problems are important, really; mine sort of come with the territory. For the most part, I don't work with many high risk cases and have been fortunate over the years. Lav, I can appreciate your perspective as a nurse and even YB's in the PD.

I do miss having a dog, a very smart and special kind of vacuum cleaner.

Det, I'm glad you are continuing with your eating program and glad you are getting to spend a little time with Dx.

I will spare you details of my latest phone call from my sister, but only because I'm sure I will be keeping you all entertained in a soap opera sort of way in the coming weeks with my family's drama. For now, time for bed!

      Be well!
