    Onward October - Week 1

Thanks all, for keeping the faith. I'm about to drop into bed, but just wanted to say hi, and send love to all. Lav - thanks for the reminder about ToDo (looks uncomfortably like To Do to me, but that's probably the cosmic joke, right?). I remember looking in there a while back, I will again.

Dill - so glad you had a better day. I actually can find a way (!) to become overwhelmed with even the next 24 hours! Saw my acupuncturist today - I asked her what she thought my areas of concern were. One word answer: adrenals. So I guess I just worked it too hard over the spring/summer, and now I'm paying for it. But I am experiencing it in different ways: not sure of myself, thinking that everything that I do is going to fail, or be a mistake, etc. Not that I always had a sunny outlook, but I pretty much thought I could conquer any problem. Now I just want to cover my head under a blanket! But I'm putting one foot in front of another. I feel much better tonight after the treatment.

Anyway, blah blah. Hundreds of stink bugs, Lav? That would just do me in at this point. You go, stink-bug-killer! Glad everyone is hanging on here - promise to post as much as I can. I always hold you all in my heart.

      Onward October - Week 1

      Good morning to all...

Lots to think about with all the great posts. Lav, I went to the ToDo site and read a few articles. Thanks for reminding us. I had a gross stinkbug incident myself, a bunch of them in my work bag, it was gross. They really stink, too. If and when the cold weather comes, hopefully they will go away. I appreciate your practices of thinking positive and going over your gratitude list. Doing that, I feel hopeful and positive. Thoughts DO lead to feelings and we can guide our thoughts.

Dill, I worry about my son and his future too, at times. We just have to have faith that things will work out, things could change for the better at any time. I could not find Redeemed at our library, so can't comment on your critique . I still have not found my Kindle, can you believe it? Darn. I would love to download some books.

Witts, this website is kind of goofy for me too. Glad you are busy and AF, you sound good.

Cyn, getting overtired, doing too much, I too feel I am going to lose it. So cool you had an acupuncture treatment. I fell so relaxed and floating afterwards. Good self-care. Some time off might be in order, I want to take a little time off myself. However, I am going to be even busier this weekend, going to visit my daughter, so lots of driving, visiting, getting home late Sunday, then work. Whew!

Lots to do today, I am visiting a friend who has a two month old, so that will be fun. Then getting stuff done around the house, shopping, and a high school football game tonight. It is so great to feel well.

      Have a great day.

        Good morning friends

Yesterday's stink bug head count was 130!
All I can do is hope & pray the rest of them will drown when this tropical storm works it's way here in the next few days - disgusting

cyn, you have overworked yourself, no doubt!
I learned my lesson about that nearly 13 years ago - won't go there again. I was so physically exhausted & emotionally blank it wasn't funny. That's when I fell down the steps & hurt myself badly. We are strong women & we can do anything we want BUT we have to listen to our bodies. When it says 'slow down' we should listen Take care of yourself!

Star, enjoy your visit with your daughter. I love spending time with my daughter too

Well, today is YB's birthday & I suppose I should go get him something. But first a trip to Curves :H

Greetings to everyone, have a terrific AF Friday!

          Greetings All,

Rebirth, hello to you too! Stop in any time, the more the merrier.

Star, Have a good time visiting with your daughter! How long has your kindle been missing? That must be very frustrating. I recently had to buy a new Ipod Nano...I put my previous one thru the wash.:upset: Not a good plan.

Cyn, :l You better stay focused on the moment instead of the 24 hours! Sooty once told me that she actually broke her day down into half hour increments to get through. I couldn't organize myself to do that tho. It worked for her, I guess. Anyway, You have worked yourself to exhaustion. Get back to square one: taking care of Cyn! Don't forget "boundaries"!!!

Lav, do the stink bugs stink when you vacuum them? I bet you have to change the bag often or park that thing outside!:H

Witts, have fun with the family. I do hope you get your old name back some day. I really liked it.

Rusty, Papmom, Lurkers, have a great AF Friday!
          Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Dill, fortunatey the habd vac I bought doesn't use bags. I can just wash out the plastic container when it gets too stinky :H :H
These things will not win - I will :H

Hope everyone is having a great day - I'm working now

              Onward October - Week 1

Up early today, drinking my coffee, trying to wake up! I have lots to do before I leave on my road trip. I get to be part of the fertility drama, going to the clinic tomorrow for egg retrieval, so will just be there for support and love. This is such a hard process, please send positive energy, prayer, that this process works.

I love road trips, taking off and just driving, seeing the countryside, I just like to travel from time to time. I have been feeling kind of lonely lately. I tried to figure it out and I think I need more friends, who live close. So, any ideas on how to meet people? I work in a small office and like it do to less drama, but miss the opportunity of a wide range of people. I made some friends then, but only really see two or three of them, and not much. My husband and I are very different people, so it makes it hard for the two of us to socialize. Does this make sense? Anyway, happy I am leaving today for a change of scene.

Lav, the stink bug battle continues at our house too. Not hundreds, but enough that it makes it gross. Did you end up getting YB something for his birthday?

Dill, Rusty, and everyone, have a great day.

                Good Morning Everyone,

Rebirth-great to see you back here. Please stay.

Cyn-I used to get overwhelmed and feel afraid that I was going to make a mistake, fail, etc. I still feel that way sometimes. I am glad you are able to recognize it and know it will pass. I am so glad the acupuncturist gave you some relief from your pain.

Star-sending prayers and positive vibes on the fertility front. I know your daughter appreciates having you there for support. I bet you're in the car now..you have a long drive, so please be safe. Regarding the loneliness, I feel for you.:l It's what made my drinking go into an abyss. As far as meeting people, it's hard when you and your husband are so different because I think couples prefer to socialize with other couples. I have met people at the gym and that has been where I have made friends, but I know financially it might not be an option for you. The YMCA here charges $35 for a membership, and the Y ALWAYS has group functions, trips, etc., where you can participate in an outing and pay separately without being a member. What are your interests? You seem to like vegan food and I wonder if there's a group or organization who share your culinary interests? I bet someone at your local library would know. I might cool people at the library. Otherwise, churches and volunteer organizations are a great way to meet people. It's one way I've made friends. I hope you find your kindle.

Dill-I feel your pain when it comes to washing your Ipod....I did the same thing to my Iphone.:upset: Do you have any time off today?

Witts-wow, you've been busy with all the family stuff. Is that your corgi in your avatar? Cute.

Lav-hope you are stink-bug free the rest of the weekend.

To anyone I missed...Papmom, Paguy....other visitors...I am off to enjoy my weekend. Have a lovely AF Saturday!

                  Good morning friends,

A super busy day is in store for me, lots of stuff to do

Star, I wish you a safe journey & will keep you & your daughter in my thoughts today. I know the process she's going thru is rough, glad you can be there to provide love & support
Finding friends at this age is not easy, I know. I have not been able to form any new real friendships either. The women I meet at Curves are nice but it stops there. We say hello when we walk past each other in the supermarket. YB has never had friends, just work or fire house associates. Even our oldest friends from high school have disappeared
I have a brother-in-law living directly behind me who didn't eve bother to tell me that they had a new granddaughter born last week - whatever!
My world has become very small. I rely on my kids & grandkids for company & entertainment, grateful to have them.

Rusty, the stink bugs continue - absolutely ridiculous
At least they seem to be confined to just two rooms in my house.

Cyn, how are you feeling now?

Rebirth, what's your plan for the weekend? Do you still have your business going?

Dill, how are the new cows?

OK, gotta get going. Have a great AF day everyone!

                    Good Sunday Morning, Friends!

                    Rebirth-hope you are doing ok.:l

Lav-too sad about your BIL who didn't even tell you about his new grandchild. I agree, it is sooo much harder to make new friends at our age. Like you, I stick close to my family. I hope you get rid of the stink bugs....that must be frustrating. I have box elder bugs here but that's about it.

Star-I hope everything goes as planned today, and have a safe trip home.

Big hellos to everyone else...Dill, Cyn, Pap, Witts....have a lovely AF Sunday.

                      Good Sunday morning friends

Warm & humid, overcast skies, AC on - definitely NOT feeling like Fall
Our changing weather pattern is so bizarre!

                      Hi Rusty!
It's too soon to say but I think (hope) the stink bug invasion is slowing down. Thursday I removed 130 of those suckers from my house!!! Not so many the past few days - ugh!

Not only is it weird that YB's brother & his wife remained silent about the new baby but their daughter only lives three miles from here. Obviously they've had plenty of opportunity to see the baby. YB is not the only weirdo in that family - he comes by it naturally.

I need to get outside & check on the chicks. Hope they survived their first night in the 'big house' :H

I'm going to toss a big chunk of pork in the crock pot & make that into pulled pork sandwiches for the crowd later today.
Have a great AF Sunday everyone!

                        Hi Everyone,

Lav, the cows are doing fine. It took a couple of days for the old ones to accept the new comers, but now they are all mixed together.

Rusty, you put your Iphone thru the wash?:upset: That was an expensive load! :H

It's interesting to think about making new friends. Now that I think about it, I pretty much met most of my friends thru my work. I don't know how I'd go about making friends if I didn't have that. I think Rusty had a lot of good suggestions tho. The library is a good resource. They often have free activities for adults. Also, the Parks and Recreation department might be a good place to meet people. Our county Parks and Recreation dept. has lots of outdoor events/hikes/talks that are free. I think that would be a good way to meet people.

Star, I'm thinking about you and your daughter.:l I hope things go well for her and she can be a mom!

                          Onward October - Week 1

Last night apparently as a bad night for deer & other small 4 legged animals around here. I drove past 2 deer on the side of the road & I don't know how many squirrels, etc on the way to the supermarket this morning, yuck.
The chicks did well overnight in the 'big house' & I cleaned out my garage where they had been staying (was getting a little stinky in there :H)

Good to hear your cows are agreeable Dill

The pulled pork was good - so easy to do too!

Hope everyone has a good night.
