      MAE ALL...

TT...I uploaded some food. :H Glad all is ok now. I know when I'm feeling on top of the world I have to be very careful. I heard once that being an alcoholic you're always living in chaos and when you sober up you don't know how to live without chaos. It made sense to me as when I quit I had to learn how to live again.

SF...five hours of Yoga :wow: If I wasn't dead I still wouldn't be able to post. So glad you and your son can enjoy meditation together. I think that's great.

Sam...it's great you can revisit how hard it was to quit. I always remember my last drink and how I was feeling when I found this place.

Nora...great to see you on the daily thread. I've been MIA for awhile as the new job has been overwhelming. Things are starting to settle down so hopefully I'm back to regular posts. Hope you get things figured out, it's not fun passing out.

Bear...wow look at you go. Day 38 and sounding strong. Can I ask a favor? I'd love to know the name of the book you're reading as I am a big time worrier. My youngest son actually greets me with Hi Worrier, what are you worrying about today?

Mick...thanks for the coffee. Had a great weekend, Dad's doing excellent and the snow held off till Sunday night. Got about 5cm but it should all be gone by Halloween. Hope your stormy weather is over soon. When do you turn your clock back? For us it's Nov 3rd.

Softy...new face on the thread for me so welcome. Hope to get to know you better as time goes on.

Sunshine...good to see you back on this thread. Not going to read back on all the posts of missed but I'm glad your posting here again.

Lav...thought I was going to see a joke post when I scrolled down because of the red. Are they going to look like Stella when they grow up. Better question, are they going to be as huggable as Stella?

Det...wanted to give you a shout-out for dealing with the beast. You are so lucky to have Dx's understanding and support. :goodjob:

Told the boss I was going home early today and his response was and so you should. Hence the posting. Haven't worked out if I'll post in the mornings, usually in a rush to get out of here, or in the evening, as some have said they're not sure they get read or responded to. Hey Ho I'll figure it out as I go. Hope everyone has had a great day...PPQP

hello PQ, I think it is a good idea to remember. That constant "I'm going to quit today", then get drunk in the evening is really hard to overcome for me.

Well I flunked the "are you a yoga addict" quiz. Good one to flunk. The 5 hours was a festival showcasing several forms of yoga, with several local teachers.

Sam my practice will ebb and flow....meaning I switch styles every so often. Now I am into Hot 26....because it literally wipes the slate clean from my day. I come home and meaningfully engage in each of my kids....then pass out and sleep like a rock. What does your wife teach? I am trained in Jivamukti to teach.

Sam thank you for the reminder on how hard it is to quit. Sometimes it's easy to forget....it wasn't all that easy. The worst is when you are in the cycle of hell and can't seem to get out. Even though getting out was there for you all the time. Cruel joke.

TT...glad the food did the trick.

I've been reading over on soberiestas.com. Interesting site....good articles for women. One I hooked into was going 100 miles an hour at work and more women are coming home to wine to decompress. Never seeing a growing problem coming....and heck everyone is doing it.

As I do look around the web....I do see a shift in how people are viewing alcohol. I think the online world gives people more opportunities to research their issues....relate to others. It was not that long ago that the only options available were to quit on your own, go to rehab, go to AA....the wealth of info was not at everyone's fingertips. The Internet is not all that old...so I think the shift is happening. It's just not going to be an overnight thing. Now you can find health articles, blogs, videos, sites like this.....that just were not available 20 years ago.

We are all part of that shift. I mean the shift where it's not viewed as a slice of heave....poor alkies. I think a true shift is occurring. Maybe never to the level if smoking.

Mick....maybe they would not have to keep raising the tax rates on it.....if people were actually consuming it as it was in past years. I think it's sneaking into more people lives and people are waking up.
