    Know November - Week 2

Welcome back Rusty, glad you had a great vacation!

Dill, I've noticed some of my posts randomly disappearing too
The important thing is that you don't let it make you crazy :H:H

Now I hear tomorrow is supposed to start out with a rain/snow mix. oh well.
I have a lot going on so I won't let it bother me.

Still haven't seen papmom on Facebook. Guess I'll just send her a message & get her to check in with us.

    Good night all!

      Know November - Week 2

      Good morning...

Well, drove home in snow last night, snow currently where I work, so will have to take extra time and go slow. Is it me or is this kind of early?

Rusty, I love South Carolina, your trip sounded so relaxing and wonderful. The magic of being AF is in the fact that we have time to do whatever we need or want to do. Under the influence, we are slaves, numbed, sick, isolated. I use exercise to unwind, my yoga right now. Your volunteer time sounds very meaningful. Great idea.

Dill, how frustrating to lose your post, I have had problems from time to time on here too. Hope things are going OK for you currently.

Fly, what an exhausting weekend. Hope you were able to chill out on V day.

Lav, no matter the weather, we have to get things done, so dress warm and go slow. I really sleep well when it is cold, do you? Cozy under those covers.

To all, have a great day.

        Good morning friends,

Not a drop of sunshine here, awaiting rain, snow & whatever else is in the cards for us today.

Yes Star, I am sleeping better in this colder weather - zero hot flashes!!!!
Be careful out on those roads today

Greetings to Dill, Fly, Rusty & everyone!
I sent papmom a message on Facebook last night, hope to hear from her.

Have a terrific AF Tuesday one & all!

          Know November - Week 2

          Good morning Abbers!

I did manage to get some things done for me yesterday. Lots of running around and grocery shopping. Got results of one MRI that says I have one small mass in my right breast and several small masses (not cysts) in my left. The radiology report says, "most likely benign." It says I should have a follow up MRI in 6 months to monitor them. I'm okay with that. I've had fibrocystic breasts for years and I just started supplementing with iodine. I'm curious whether the iodine will have any effect on my breasts. In addition to the masses, I have numerous cysts.

Hubby and I went to see the movie Gravity yesterday. He's been wanting to see it for weeks in 3D. He was disappointed in the story, but thought the 3D was cool. I'm just glad that it's off my "to-do" list because I was getting sick of hearing him talk about seeing it! :H

Lav-I really want to smack my stepdaughter up the back of her head sometimes. When she's at our house it's like she's off duty. DH and I were run ragged. Not enjoyable at all. I need to work on fitting fitness into my life like you do. I tend to let my workouts go when the sh*t hits the fan. They are so critical to our well-being.

Rusty-I love your story of volunteering! An attitude of gratitude. Glad that you got to decompress with your sister in SC.

Star-for healing I do yoga and I have some guided meditations. I'm also exploring something called somatic experiencing, which I find is similar to mediation. How are you doing?

Hello to all the rest. I've got some work to do. Have a great day.

            Know November - Week 2

            Hallo all

Sorry, I was MIA yesterday, I think - don't know why I didn't check in here.

Dill, the lady manning the drinks table definitely noticed when I asked for juice and not wine - she is used to my numerous requests for refills. But I think the answer toy wanted to hear, is no, nobody said a word to me. I think that we are overly sensitive to what's in out glasses - to other people it probably doesn't matter.

Star - I bought the stargazer lilies today! My house smells absolutely delicious. I picked some sweet peas fro my garden over the weekend, which reminded me of Sweetpea, and now "your" flowers. My neighbour's rooster reminds me of Lav, my herb garden reminds me of Dill, my garden birds reminds me of Fly - Rusty, your turn will come, promise!

Fly, I take it that your doc isn't too worried about the results, apart from the scheduled MRI? I'm ignorant here: what is the effect of iodine on cysts? Does it reduce them?

Rusty, you and your mum's volunteering work is so inspiring. It's something I think about every once in a while, but don't put into action.

Had a day that needs thinking about - perhaps over a cup of honeybush and berry tea in the bath.

Enjoy the rest of this Tuesday, special people.
14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

              Hello Friends,

DTD, glad to hear your answer. I agree that we are much more sensitive to what's in our glass....and every body else's for that matter! LOL.

Fly, I can completely understand the exhaustion you felt after two days looking after step-daughter's children. It's too bad she took advantage like that. I'm with DTD in that I didn't know about a connection with iodine and breast health.

Lav, we have sunshine here but it is still awful cold outside! Gonna be even colder tonight from what I hear. I was awakened in the night last night by a certain needful 2 year old and when I went to take care of the situation I looked out the window and saw cold, white, snow blowing. YUCK!

Star, yes this snow is early. :upset: I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I know it must be very upsetting to you.

Rusty, I am so happy that you had a good visit with your sister. You seem to me to be so blessed with good family relationships!

Hi to Cyn, Witts, Pap, and lurkers. Hope all enjoy an AF Tuesday.
              Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I didn't know anything about iodine until about 10 days ago. It's good for the whole lymphatic system. It's supposed to help with fibrocystic breasts, ovarian cysts, thyroid issues, and I was just chatting with someone who is looking into it as a treatment for Lyme's Disease. I'm a huge skeptic when people rave about some supplement, but I'm going to give this a try for 6 months and see what the next MRI says.

Star-it sure does seem early for snow! We had a snow shower for about a half hour today. No accumulation, thank goodness.

                DTD-Way to go ordering juice!

Off to cook dinner and clean. Have a great night all.

You know me & my fondness for natural health links
Dr. Tori Hudson, N.D. ? Natural Approaches to Fibrocystic Breasts

I have had to cut back on caffeine, salt, chocolate, peanuts & various other inflammatory type foods & increase Vit E & Vit B6 to help with tenderness issues at times.
Fly, has anyone suggested a natural progesterone cream for you? Are you using a liquid iodine supplement? I hope whatever you are doing helps

It's cold!!! Very cold but the snow was a non-event down this way - lasted about 2-3 minutes this morning.

Getting up at night with a two year old is harsh, isn't it Dill? I feel for you :l
Hope everything is OK with the little one.

I've had a little communication with papmom on Facebook, she's busy but OK. Hopefully she will check in with us soon.

Have a warm & cozy night everyone. My fireplace is making me happy & I am grateful.

                    19 degrees this am. Wow.

Too much snow and cold this early, so happy I have sweaters out and cute boots to wear!!! Hot turkey soup does not hurt either.

DTD, aren't stargazer lilies the best? I just love the fragrance and they are so beautiful. How nice to have summer right now.

Fly, yoga is so relaxing, what guided meditations have you bought? Are they from a certain person or just random ones. I am always on the lookout for some good ones as they are not all equal. I believe in various natural ways to fix things in our bodies. Hope this works for you.

Lav, eliminating or having less of those foods is what I have to do too, or I have bad reactions. Thanks for the link, and contacting Pap. She is a very busy lady, and I miss her posts.

Dill, you are such a good grandma. Hope your day is peaceful.

                    Rusty, great vaca.

I have to work, drive through a little snow to get there, and stay warm. Have a great day all.

                      Good Morning Everyone,

We got over an inch of snow....and drove 3 hours north for work and there is no snow here.

Fly:l-please keep us posted on how you are doing. We care about you here. I'm so glad you are with us. My niece was treated with iodine when she had thyroid cancer 8 years ago. She is 30 years old now, with three little girls, and doing great!

DTD-I envy you that you are enjoying SUMMER right now. I too love stargazers (human and floral My condo is decorated in French country so I have a lot of black, red, yellow green, and some orange, and the orange stargazers look the best. I am so glad you find comfort and relaxation in yoga....I just cannot get into it.

Dill-I am blessed with good family relationships (most of them, anyway). Sorry you were awakened by your granddaughter. It is tough having a family live with you. I have special empathy for you because my parents were very generous to the children of some of my dad's customers, and they were from South America, and they would spend their vacations with us when I was growing up, and sometimes bring their infant children. It was not fun.

Lav-I am glad you are in touch with Pap and she's ok.

Big hellos to everyone else. I have an early day of work today. Happy AF Hump Day to all.

                          Know November - Week 2

                          Greetings Everyone,
DTD, I am so happy to read your posts about your plants and garden, especially with the snow on the ground and the freezing temps we have here.

Star, I'm not really such a good grandmother. You probably think I got up with my 2 year old granddaughter to help my son and give him some relief in the middle of the night. But reality is, I was up with the 2 year old because it is on me and Mr. D 24/7 now. My son has been struggling with addiction and decided outpatient treatment was not enough. He voluntarily went to inpatient treatment for 30-60 days at a local rehab facility. That's part of the drama we've been having around here.

Rusty, taking care of infants and small children is quite tiring. They are as cute as cute can be IF you can have them in small doses!:H

Hey Fly, keep us posted on what you find out after trying the iodine.

Lav, your day sounds like fun!

My day is going well. I had jury duty this morning and all the cases were interesting. I have 6 more weeks to go. Can you believe we actually meet on Christmas Eve? And on Thanksgiving Eve?!

Of course, the furnace went out last night and it is freezing cold outside. We have to wait on a part and who knows when it will come in. On top of that our shower is broken and we are waiting on a part for that, too. Lots of challenges here on top of the childcare.
                          Dill

Dill-I'm so glad to hear that your son is getting the help he needs. Believe me, I hear you about the childcare issues! I had no idea that it was 24/7 for you. That's tough. I hope that the parts you need for your furnace and shower come in soon! When something goes out at my house it's always on the weekend when a service call costs twice as much.

Lav-Did you manage to stay out of trouble? :H Cutting back on coffee might make me cry. I have a couple cups in the morning and oh how I love it! I've always been told no progesterone for me because I had a hysterectomy in 2004. I still have my ovaries.

Rusty-A 3 hour commute for work? Eeeeek! No thank you!

Star-I'm currently doing a Deepak Chopra 21 day meditation series on love. I've been doing a yoga workout the last few days that focuses on the first chakra. What type of yoga do you do?

                            How are you doing DTD?

Crazy busy atm... hence the shorthand posts. No sn*w here (thank you, there IS a God) but rather frigid. Doing ok, settling into 3 AA (or related) meetings a week. Off to one in a couple of minutes.

Greatly admire all your self restraint when it comes to junky food - I'm such a piggy but I'm sure I could do less with all of what was mentioned as well.

Dill... hugs and strength to you and your family. Sounds like lots going on and lots on your shoulders.

Ok... must run. Have a great rest of the evening!

Sometimes I just can't believe we are expected to juggle so much in one lifetime. Just know we are here for you

Fly, I went totally caffeine free for a year (several years ago) hoping it would help my blood pressure. It hardly made any difference so I've allowed some back into my life but I do cut back when the need arises. I did stay out of trouble today & got lots done - thanks for asking :H

Sunni, glad to hear you are s**w free :H
                                Hope you enjoy your meeting.
