average minds discuss wants,
small minds discuss people." -- Laurence J. Peter
Anything for you, Dill.:h

I love your quote today, Dill. Thank you for posting it. I will put it in your electronic file.

"Addiction is a behavior intended to reverse a profound, intolerable sense of helplessness. This helplessness is always rooted in something deeply important to the individual. The feeling at the key moment along the path to addictive behavior is helplessness or powerlessness. It feels like you are in a trap that you can do nothing about."- Lance Dodes.
Lance Dodes' books are addicting!!:H I am learning a great deal about why I drink, and like ALL of the people in the book Lance Dodes interviews, their issues with addiction (alcohol, sex, drugs, food and gambling) link back to inadequacy people felt in their childhoods.
Lav-so glad you can detach when you send your hens to the Amish farmer.
Posted by Lav:It's no wonder so many women our age fell into that rabbit hole. We heard mixed messages all our lives from our parents, teachers & peers. Society expects us to be strong, capable & perfect at all times. How can anyone live up to those unrealistic expectations? We're just human, not machines. We have thoughts, feelings, emotions, hormones, children, spouses, employers & more pulling at us non-stop."
Star-so sorry to hear about your friend. I am glad she is finally getting the help she needs and I hope it is not too late. She is lucky to have you as a friend.
Big hellos to Cyn, Dream, Witts, SunniGG, Narilly, and anyone else I may have missed...have a wonderful AF Friday!!!
