Ladies on a Mission, week 2

Bed here - come and help bounce on it - all the ladies can join me in a pillow party (you have to help me make it thou!).
It is a lot higher off the ground than my old one - I am scared of heights! At least I will be sober or I might fall off it!!

        Ladies,
Thanks for the support!!!! It's made me feel much better! And yes, being on guard is easy with the big things, but those little buggers...I'm keeping my eyes open for them now. I've put a few more supports in place, regrouped, and I'm ready to take the bull by the horns! Thanks for all the hugs also. How do I put hugs in? So technically challenged! I can do this...xxxooo

Narilly, so sorry for that traumatic experience in your life. We lost a boy I taught just this summer. They were about 8 kids in a truck, and he stood up in the back of the bed, fell out and pronounced dead at the scene. So sad. He was the quarter back for our football team, and such a good student. The boy that was driving wasn't drinking, but he's had a really difficult year.

SL, I'm coming to jump on your bed!! Last night, I would have fallen off for sure but not tonight.

And SL, thanks for reposting that quote. xxxooo

Humblerider, my mom sewed all of our clothes when we were young. We'd always have matching outfits for the holidays! My FIL, rest his soul, was a Taylor and a master at his craft. I miss him! Enjoy your toy!

Again, thanks for all the warm thoughts. I appreciate you girls.

J-vo, so did my mom. She even made my dad's polyester 70's suits. It is good to know you are picking yourself up, dusting off, and getting back firmly in the saddle. I should say that even though dh is supportive of my not drinking, I can imagine how easy it would be for me to order a drink when we go out to dinner. I don't think he would say much for fear of my ripping his head off if I were hell bent on having one. Now we don't go to dinner at places where we used to have drinks, just new places that don't carry the alcohol memories.

Narilly, hugs to you on this day. I agree with NS that you are honoring your friend in your sobriety.

SL, hope you are relaxing on that new bed!

Ya Star!! Good to see you - where are Ann and SS??? Go get a bed and keep me company!!!

j-vo - when you are writing your reply - to the right of the reply box (as you are looking at the screen) there are some "smilies" and if you point your cursor and click you can add them to your reply, just don't do too many as there apparently is a limit...

Humblerider, I think that was one of the triggers for me last night. It was our "watering" hole so to speak. Going to different venues is a great idea. And my husband, who is a normal drinker, also knows how I'd bite his head off if he'd say anything. But he does know my goals and is supportive. In the end, only we can make the right choice. Can't blame DH's for drinking...maybe for other things, though!!!!

Thanks SL. I'm gonna try right this very moment!:l:l

hilarious! I never noticed all the other ones!:yay:

SL- this slumber party we are having sounds fun. I'll bring my favorite pillow! Next slumber is at Star's because she needs a new bed too. Glad to see you back Star.

Humble, yes that is cool you like to sew. My mom sews and has a surger but I haven't for years. It is a great skill to have.
J-Vo- the first week I was AF we went to a different restaurant which didn't serve alcohol. It was WAY easier than having to say NO at our favorite haunt. Now I am better equipped for that but still it is so easy to slide.

Thank you for all your wishes on this day. I really appreciate that. It was 32 years ago. Imagine, I still kept drinking all these years. So glad to be AF today.

:bonkers:Humblerider! OMG, the polyester suits! What a vision. Almost like 80's big hair vision, 90's mullets (every guy in my wedding include DH had a mullet!). The 80's were very hard on one's eyes..

Yah! you did it, and did it, and did it better than anyone...I have only used the ones seen here, obviously too lazy to look further:H
Well, back to work tomorrow - decorations up (except for tree - that gets done a lot closer to Christmas).
Feeling blah tonight, no reason why - and being a bit of a nag - need an adjustment...hopefully this mood vanishes soon cos I don't like me like this...maybe it is because I am waiting for the slumber party - we will have it perfected for Star's party!
