OK, the party can begin.
It is 100 days way over in my time zone now. I owe a lot of it to you ladies and to this thread - keeps me honest, reflective and laughing all at the same time.
I'll read back and come for a longer post after work.
xo times infinity,
Pav

Life, I can hardly wait for your sex talk
Ava, you crack me up. Buzzing in your suitcase! I bet the customs people still talk about that one!
Moss, glad you are feeling better. Those blackouts really suck. Like Ava says, it just kept getting worse. That is also a big reason why I don't drink.
Rox, you are sounding good hon. and Mary too!
J-Vo, I hope you enjoyed your day off yesterday. I thought of you this morning because I did not feel like getting up to work...but here I am anyway.
Pav, I am really looking forward to your 100 day post. Have a GREAT day!! You are a very strong woman, thoughtful and determined. I love that and would like to be like you when I grow up.Narilly

ok. I am going to be late! Just have to state my goal for the day, which is the same as it has been the past 6 days (which seems like a eternity!)-- not to let my mind wander too far into the past or future. To try and stay as much in the PRESENT as possible. This helps me to stay in the reality of NOW-- which is the only thing I have control over anyway. This is soooo difficult sometimes, but I swear it is helping me to stay sober. The most important thing for me today is NOT to drink. And I won't!!
LC, this is awesome and I'm going to repost in my journal. I've always had a hard time keeping my mind on the present. I still work at this, but need to remind myself more. I guess this is why meditation would be a great choice for me. And you're right. This will help to stay in the reality of NOW - and that is what we have control over - the NOW. Thank you!Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.

NS, I Love that picture! I will be the one in the front because I have dark hair and am short
How fun!
J-Vo, LC, staying in the present. That is definitely a good idea. I try and do that myself. I think way too much about the past and then what will happen in the future. What's the point? I really am aware of my thoughts these days and really try and focus onthe here and now.Narilly

Hi again Ladies!
This will be relatively short as we are cooking dinner and getting ready to start a film.
But I had to say Congrats one more time to Pav!!! Looking forward to hearing how your day is going later on..
and to say to you, NS, how much I love the picture of all of us gorgeous ladies! I sort of remember that outing-- we ARE busy aren't we?
As for the sex talk, it wasn't soo much I wanted to say, Nar! I'm gonna have to dig deeper to keep up your interest!!:H I was just remembering back to days when our kids were younger and my BF and I didn't want to risk a full or even partial game of checkers on a sat. afternoon, so he'd just assist me playing solitaire-- either with (quiet!) toys or without, laying beside me, kissing me or getting more involved.. Or when I couldn't or didn't want to play checkers but could help him out with solitaire--I found these times
brought a different and really nice intimacy to our relationship. Not unusual, but hadn't yet been mentioned here on this feisty thread. I've never ordered anything online but my friends have and have been happy--I guess I just wouldn't know what to buy if I couldn't first have it in hand. They do have some pretty awesome toys out there these days.
Ava!!! crack up at the airport! How embarrassing...At least no one pulled it out during a bag search!
j-vo, :l. The most difficult thing for me in the world is keeping my mind in the moment. Last night I decided at the last minute to go to a group meditation sitting that I hadn't been to in ages-- it is 1 hour and begins with a (recorded) specific chant and ends with another. We are meant to sit completely still and practice a method previously learned at a course (which I can't even really manage to do anymore)-- but at the least we should be focussing on our breath and only our breath. Last night was the LONGEST hour I've ever sat. I thought it would never end. It was such work to keep coming back to my breath. But I realised what great practice it is for that which I am trying to do here.
My goal is to go 3x a week to start, when the girls aren't here.
xoxoxo to you all!

Life,
Focusing only on our breath. That is such a good thing to do. I try and do that in the bathtub, just breathe deeply, listen to my breath and feel my diaphragm going up and down. That is when I meditate. I try and do that everynight before I go to bed. It really helps me sleep because it calms my mind down AND I get warmed up since it is so freakin cold here in winter.
My mind always tries to wander but I try and reign it in and focus on my breathing. Focus on the moment.
Thanks for the sex talk Life. That was pretty interesting for sure, just what I was looking for! (ok, that sounds kind of creepy)
Talk soon gals,Narilly

omg, glad my DH doesn't have access to this forum! He'd be dragging me upstairs right now. I know, what's wrong with me! LC, that was quite a visualization! Men on a Mission's Mushrooms are watered and growing wildly. BTW, I love wild mushrooms (not the kind that are like drugs) but my FIL used to pick wild mushrooms and jar them. Delicious! They are huge!!!!! Just sayin...Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.
