Well, I've been MIA for quite some time. I don't know if I'll ever catch up on what's been going on, but I will try. I'm still alcohol free with no desire to drink, though, so that's a plus. I found myself all wound up in my son's anniversary of his death, several relationship issues that needed sorting out, changes to be made in how I interact in this world, priorities to be explored and reset. Being here, I have realized, is a priority even though I haven't wanted a drink. You all have helped me tremendously, and I thank NS and Pav for checking in on me and making sure I'm okay.

I'll check back in later and just from reading the last few posts, and it's good to see everyone still here and sober. xo

Quick break at work,

I've had a better day. I'm forcing myself not to rush to get everything done. I actually got a cup of coffee and sat for 5 minutes with some colleagues before kids came up to class. And I'm keeping myself positive and remembering that if something comes up that pisses me off, breath through it. No need to drink through it. Well, that wouldn't happen at work, but it would happen after. Breath... I'm finding that working, taking care of family, and not drinking is all I can handle right now. That's it. I'm not going to try to do anything else right now - only if I feel like it. I'm giving myself a big brain break in thinking I must accomplish everything perfectly and have all the balance worked out in my life. Nope. Work, family, no drinking. That's it.

Ava, yay! Glad you got your laptop!

Nar - great plan yesterday and today. Stay half hour and leave. Then you've satisfied them as they'd be nagging you to go. Perfect plan.

J-Vo, great you are feeling better and have a different perspective. It is really hard to slow down sometimes and just Breathe. I try and be in the present as much as I can and it is something I really have to work at. The first step is being aware of your thoughts and then re channeling them. Focusing on your breathing and trying not to think too much. Which sounds exactly like you are doing. So glad thoughts of AL are not coming into your head.

Humble, so glad to hear from you. I am glad you got some things sorted out. It sure is a tough time for you and it sounds like you took care of yourself while dealing with it. Big hugs.

It is friday so tomorrow will be an extra extra long gazette and on the new laptop. I have had so many problems getting onto mwo that by the time i do it is time to get ready for work.

Humble so happy to see you back and NS let us know you were okay so i was happy about that. i am sorry that you are sad/wound up etc about your sons anniversary. i cannot imagine what you go through yearly but we are here for you. I admire you for your strength in life Humble.

Well shower time, blah and cant reply to much though will try and get on today at lunch. So glad everyone is sober and safe.

Jvo that is all i do even now, concentrate on not drinking and my family and me. The time will come to truly be a part of the human race ha ha.

I got into a few tiffs with people at work today myself but its because everyone is stressed out. We are trying to close out our project and everyone is overworked and cranky. It didn't really bother me though, I was not the instigator and i understand why people are so peeved off.

Well, parent teacher interviews after our company meeting and then SUSHI with my hubs. I am looking forward to that.
I have tomorrow off and am going for a pedicure with my beautiful daughter. Oh, and lunch too.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time but so glad you know that drinking would ultimately make it worse.
It is hard to give up the Quick Fix. We all know what that feels like.
One thing I try is imagining how what is going on right now will look in a month. Or a year. So often my big worries are so much more manageable even by morning. Everything can look so dark at night.

SL - Yes, things are hard without alcohol - so much harder with, however.

Another LONG day. My son's second basketball team won their championship tonight - I'm pretty sure I've never been on a championship team. They won by 30 points or something - they have a great team and are fun to watch, but that got a bit ridiculous.

Off to bed, sober! Maybe you'll get a Pav and and Ava Gazette this weekend, although looking ahead I see I've overbooked myself yet again.
