Ladies on a Mission: The Official Site

Way to go SL! 50 days! You are amazing girl.

Hey Ava, your Avitar is hilarious, glad you are not that person!

LB, I read The Far Pavillions about 20 years ago, I really liked that book. I thought it would be good to learn a bit about India. It was a fun read. I can't believe you have possums under your step! That is really interesting. We never get stuff like that happening. Of course, I live in the city but we do get a crap load of rabbits running around.

J-Vo, I totally know what you are talking about feeling good on the weekends. It is awesome isn't it. So grateful not to be hungover on Saturday and Sunday morning. Thank Goodness!

Jane, communicating with the hubs is always a struggle. Sorry you feel like second best but you know he loves you. Try not to over think things.
Its not a competition between his son and you. He knows you are a capable, strong woman who can take care of herself. His son is his 'little kid' and he probably is over doing it but sometimes parents can do that.
You will feel WAY better after that cleanse is done. It is probably making you feel even worse than you normally would.

    Anyway, back to work.

      Mornin' Ladies!

S.L. I am SO PROUD of you!!! Fifty Days ROCKS!!! All you ladies are so inspirational and help me more than you will ever know!

Jane, I did the M.C. a couple months ago. I remember I had to go grocery shopping for the fam's weekly groceries on about day 8. That sucked! I almost had a panic attack in Kroger....all that food!! Very proud of you for sticking with it. I hope your fever goes away soon. I know just what it feels like to be under-appreciated! I think that happens to all us moms! Doesn't make it any easier thought. Specially when you are sick as a dog and ravenous!

      Have a great day, all!

        j-vo - isn't this the truth!!!!
        I wasted so many weekends.

And Sunday morning? So I used to wait for this all week, then ruin my weekend, week after week, month after month, year after year. Not anymore ladies.
Thanks all for the congratulations - I am still a little disbelieving that this time around is actually sticking - it is almost as if it is happening to someone else. I love my scottish note NS!!
Ava - would come, but really can't do massages - wish I could, they sound fun.
It is no little thanks to all of you ladies for carrying me this far - the company is stellar!

I read the Far Pavillions too - good book.
Jane - sorry for your struggles, it is sounding tough.
After the talk of sad incidents, we have had a bus crash - it was carrying HS students to see a college they have been accepted at. A truck crossed the median and hit them, expolding the bus and it caught fire. 8 kids dead, both drivers and a horrific number hospitalised. Breaks my heart...

Don't question it, SL. Don't overthink. Just keep doing what you're doing day by day. xx NS

SL, omg, just read your post and haven't watched the news since yesterday. Prayers for so many this week. Will add them to my list. Going to watch a local news special on the heroes from the incident on Wednesday.

Nar, you had drinking thoughts last night. Stay on board with us girl, and text or post before ever picking up that drink.

Going to spend more money tonight on boring things like paint, a fireplace screen, and other boring things. Nothing like shoe shopping...

Have a great sober night ladies.

                                MAE--

Another long day - late here and I'm on my way to bed again. Amazing how much I miss y'all when I am not around to post.

Jane - Sometimes you have to tell them what you want. I spent a lot of time thinking "it's not fair..." why do I have to remember X, make the reservation, go to the store, blah blah blah. Well - I never sat down with DH and told him how I felt and what I needed. AND I have to accept that he is who he is and he's not going to change much. To this day (almost 18 year in) I am the one who has to organize any type of date night we have. It used to piss me off royally and now I just think - if I want to go out, I have to plan. And then we get to go to my favorite restaurant, or the show I want to see. Point being - communication helps, and understanding helps, too. Hope you feel better soon - maybe your fever is your delirium from hunger?? The first thing I would want after a fast is a giant slice of pizza or a gooey burrito (Northern CA burritos are a thing unto themselves). And I'm sorry I missed your high five comment - did you change it? I hate when I miss a good joke.

Gardener - so happy you came back. As you can see from the large numbers around here, we have a great success rate. Settle in, and POST if you feel like drinking - we'll help you work it out.

Speaking of feeling like drinking - Narilly... How are you feeling? What specifically is your brain telling you? Think it through, go read the relapse thread, eat, sleep, read your journal (or your old posts). Whatever you have to do. You have rabbits in the city?

J-vo - you sound great. Yes, the weekend is so great. I have gotten to the point where a drink is not my first thought on a Friday afternoon - I thought it would be for the rest of my life, so it appears those old timers were really telling the truth! I love holding to their tailfeathers in the nest.

LB - Yes, being sober is fun. Chasing possums? I'm not sure I'd put that on my fun list. We have a lot of bushes where we live and there are plenty of possums who live in there I think. We used to see more dead ones when our cat was alive, and now that we don't see the dead ones I think they must all be alive in there somewhere. Glad you're rescuing them.

SL - When is your birthday? Mine isn't until summer - it will be interesting to see what that feels like. We do get to celebrate Ava's soon - and J-vo's, right? I'm so happy you're so happy. It has been a pleasure hanging out with you. Onward to your next 50!

Star - We don't see you much. Remember to post - it helps prevent the relapses. How are you feeling? Is there a story behind your avatar photo? Happy to see you here as well.

Dreamy! Happy Birthday - I think I missed it in your time, but it is still going here. We love a good, long party in all of our time zones.

NS, Moss, Giraffe, Ava, Dot - I'm about cooked here.

I'll try to be more coherent this weekend. Love you ladies!
