Ladies on a Mission: The Official Site

Hey Pav, I knew when I wrote "if" that someone would notice, but as to the earlier discussion regarding lying, I was writing my truth, and hoping that if I wrote it that I would face it! I am starting to get my game plan for the trip, and facing my reality in the hope I can make some concious changes, so thanks for helping - this is what I need:l
We are staying at Fishermans wharf, and plan to go for a day shopping to Union Square - I had not thought of tea, what a good idea!
Av - the longest I have managed has been just over 60 days and I blew that one, so I know the disappointment of getting a good stretch going and blowing it. That was due to not regifting a Christmas present. I have regifted one of the 12 bottles that I am getting slowly and painfully over 6 months - this will be a test of my commitment to this! One more under the tree for someone else.

      Star,

He doesn't have to understand - he just needs to get with the program!

Perhaps tell him exactly what you NEED him to do and say under various circumstances (and promise you won't take his head off when it isn't quite what you want to hear).

Togetherness is important but if you had diabetes, would he ask you to share a piece of cake?

I'll be looking for your post tomorrow morning :l.

He likes for me to drink to keep him company, but doesn't like me drinking too much or behind his back...I don't like it either :upset: That's why I'm hangin you you gals!

hello all, just popping in. I saw someone send spuddleduck here and thought I'd come over also. I'm on day 2 of baclofen and haven't been strong enough not to drink, yet. But I'm trying...and not giving up.

Hey Spud and welcome, this is a nice safe place to be. Also the Newbies Nest Roll Call is good to be accountable for your days. Have a read from the beginning of this thread and you will notice our happy days, our sad days, our frustrating/anger days and the warmth we have for one another. It is easier to keep track on here than the NN as so much happens but always good to check in there also.

                  Day 1 for you tomorrow?

Hey Spud, all you have to do is be on the same mission as we are - to one day be AF.
We started this as a serious thread to really try to address what we are facing, to be concise and committed, even when we fail. From what I know of you, having "seen" you in similar threads to the ones I jump on, you are already on the mission - so hopefully you will join us here as we work to help ourselves get better, and in the journey hopefully we can help each other...
Hi yourfriend - I don't think many of us are on meds, a couple of AB folks, so you will be able to give us a different perspective.
And all any of us can do to NOT be a failure is to keep on trying and really hope that one day it will stick for us as it has for others....

Had to go back and look for this quote - it really does work for me...

For you duck lady (my childhood nickname was "puddleduck" so I do smile when I see your name:l)

Spud you just need to be on a mission to take one day at a time and to be on a mission to get rid of al. We are all on different stages but determined to give it our best shot at not drinking.

Hi Your and welcome. Congrats on Day 2. I am not on anything either so I cant give advice on Bacolfen. Never give up trying as one day you will beat it!

Welcome Spud and Yourfriend! Lots of wonderful support here! So glad you're here.:welcome:

Pav, I'm gonna check out G's video. Thanks. And get better, will ya!

Star, Spud, Yourfriend, and Eloise, temptations are everywhere, especially in the holiday season. I like NS's suggestion. Come here and post every morning. Great idea. And come here and tell us how you're feeling, be honest, then when you're feeling crappy thinking about AL, try to replace that yucky thought with a good thought of something else, or even a bad thing that AL did to you. Whatever you're feeling, be honest, rant, bitch, moan, swear, dance, sing, cry, or whatever it is you need to do. We're here to listen and provide support.

SL :woot: Good for your 40!! And the gifts of wine monthly. I can only believe that it's not a coincidence. I think God does things like that, to keep us strong. Hmm. Let's see what she's gonna do? Well, we could make up a game with wine. Get each other's addresses, pack up the bottle with a note that says, "I don't want this shit" then send it to the next person. They do the same. If it goes full circle, we beat AL's ass!

Ava, again, you're children are blessings. I just laughed when you wrote about telling her "It's going to be an AF Christmas!"

Ok ladies, have a great night!

then Jvo i will send you mine and it sounds such a good idea to pass it on. I just wonder when it will break as this bottle could be sent around for years. Oh but SL i drank white but mind you when no white i drank red or anything else really.

I went to the shops before and it was a madhouse and for the first time in ages i looked at the al and i was a little sad that he/she would not be joining me for xmas celebrations but i turned away and walked out. Nothing sad really about al not being with me and it was just a passing thought. I also had two invites to NY's parties, one being my daughters and I said not this year and she understood which was nice. At this stage i am not putting myself in temptations way and i can always do with another early night.

Jvo wish i had told my son it was an af xmas as he is getting beer but thats ok as i dont drink beer, hate the stuff and just because i have given up al doesnt mean they all have to. I think i have 15 bottles of soft drink in my fridge and i laughed when i saw it as before it would have been wine. Wine for xmas day to celebrate, wine for the next day as the shops are closed and wine just in case i ran out. Hangover, what hangover, not time for that when i didnt stop drinking.

I am blessed to be al and hungover free for the first time in I cant remember!
