LB so sorry to hear of your struggles but i know you are one strong woman but i am sending you hugs and much love.

Nar a heat wave, good to see, it is rather cool here now which i love but i think the constant 36 degrees to 19 has put my body into shock.

Jvo happy 3 weeks lovely, very proud of you and you so have a totally different mindset to carry on with your sobriety. Lots of love.

Pav 140 days, i think i am confused with my days now, all rolling along quite nicely with only an odd urge here and there.

SL its nice when the kids come home again, i missed my immensely while i was away, not sure about now i am home though! They did spoil me yesterday though but i am glad i have girls and not all boys is all i will say.

NS how has your easter been?

Jane did you manage to get to the paperwork? Come and do mine if you like please. I will make the coffee/tea.

I really cant read much atm, i need to go the chemist to get some good drugs for this cold. Thinking of you all and Hap Happy Easter from me to you all. Love you ladies xxxxx

          Evening Ladies,

Well, everyone got here around 3:30-4:00 and left about 8:30. It was a really great day. We had bocci in the yard and corn hole game. I loved that we could enjoy being outdoors for at least half the time. Everyone brought something and it was great. The only person that over drank was SIL and she drinks vodka. Three quarters of a fifth gone. Everyone else was a few before dinner, except me!

Jane and Pav, hope your spirits are up today.

Ava, Dot, hope you feel better ladies.

          LB, thinking of you!

Thanks J-Vo, my day was great. Had a good supper, my neighbors and hubby all had wine, I had tea and it was no problem.

It's just part of life now, I am taking care of my brain. When I think about it this way I find it way easier to abstain. It's not me being weak, it's my brain having been effected 'damaged' by years of drinking. Now my job is to protect it.

Pav, Jane, they say it ebbs and flows in recovery. Maybe you are just ebbing

Ava, take care of yourself girl! I know eh? We have great weather here, finally.

NS, thank goodness for you and the bubble hour.

It's 9pm and I'm in bed. How good is that?

            Goodnight xo

              Hi, all:

Easter picnic among wildflowers on a bluff with a view. Amazing day. Some champagne and bloody marys but not for me (or two others) - I made some delicious herbal iced tea. I am in a much better mood today, thanks for all of your kind words!

LB - sorry about your husband and your weekend. I hope all is going well.

Nar - I'm with you - the Bubble Hour has been great for me, too. Thanks, NS. I want some of your veggies to take for the week's lunches, if you don't mind. That is my new focus - eating better, in particular less sugar and more veggies.

J-Vo - That sounds like a lovely day. Really? 3/4 of a bottle of vodka? Was she standing? I love games, and it is great that you got to be outside.

SL - I'll remember that - doing things for myself, not just for my kids and family. I like to believe I would get out of bed, but some days it really doesn't feel like it. Are you close to Mt. Diablo? I hear there are some great hikes up there.

Jane - Hope your paperwork didn't weigh you down. Sometimes crossing something like that off a list feels good. I also hope you got some time to have fun or chill out.

Ava and Dot - I'll bring you and the doggies some soup and some of my iced tea. Fluids are good for you. Hope you both feel better soon.

NS - No word from you means nice weather and a lot of time outdoors. Enjoy, you deserve it.

LC - Check in? I' hope things are going ok.

R4L - I saw you back on another thread - check in here if you want - we'll support you!

Humble? Are you around? Ann? We miss you all!

Hope you all have great weeks.

              xo

                    Morning already!

Well, I don't have a hangover like someone I know will!!!! But grateful for how everything went yesterday. That wasn't his whole family. Next year instead of 22 it'll be 32. His aunt and uncle with five adult kids and their sig others. And most likely it'll be just inside. Who is worried about next year already??? Not me!!!

Today I have my final evaluation meeting with two principals. They rated me in several categories, then I typed a few rebuttals that I thought I was "distinguished" in (that's the new term) and not "Proficient." So that's at 12:47 today. Wish me luck!

Nar, that seems to be working for you - the taking care of your brain. And the bubble hour. Keep listening to each new podcast. I think the next one is going to be "how to communicate to others that you're not drinking." Glad you had a great day and will wake up hangover free!

Pav, she was standing, as her tolerance is pretty high. But I could tell she was loopy. Maybe someone else was in the vodka! You never know in this family...Glad your day was great with a lovely view!

Roxy, thanks for that! I like Craig Ferguson.

Going to hop in the shower and prepare for my day. Will check in later after DS's baseball game. Have a wonderful day!

You have a maelstrom of emotions and I'm sorry :l

Feels good to get it out though yes? As for mr Jane seeing it, only if you left it open on your PC.

Could you do with one of these? :l

Back from the weekend breakaway with loads and loads of filthy laundry. There were so many al temptations to resist this weekend. I managed by trying to shut my mind to al altogether. It was not easy though. When does it get easy? When will not being able to drink not be an issue for me? Omw let me stop waffling and start sorting the laundry.

Pav, fantastic 140 days, that is just super. Im so happy for you.

LB and Jane, sorry to hear that you have had a less than wonderful weekend. Hugs and kisses to you.

                        Have a good week all.

Jane, just hang in there and don't over think things too much. I mean, one day at a time right? This goes for your relationship as well as AL I think.
It is interesting hearing about you being non Indian in an Indian family. I can see how you may feel like an outsider sometimes. I don't know how to help you with that except to say Just join in. It is probably more in your mind than theirs.
My husband is white and he just joins in with the men when they are drinking or talking. But our family is pretty Westernized and they totally accept him.

So I can say all that to you but I am not there to really know your situation. Maybe they are really close minded...so I am not judjing.

Funny about your MIL eating recycled food. My mom throws things out way before they get bad and is pretty particular about her food. She is always exercising too and quite frequently over does it. I have to remind her to take care of herself because it would be bad if she overdid it and got sick.

Rox, nice to hear from you.
NS, I just sent my friend a link to Bubblehour. last night a my son and a few friends ate cookies with marijuana in them and one of the girls had a really bad reaction. She left with another friend and were walking home when she had a melt down. They called 911 and then were taken to the hospital. 4 cops showed up at my house and my son gave them the remaining cookie. Anyway, the girl is ok (thank God) and the only thing they found in the cookie was Marijuana. Still, it could have been so much worse. So now I have to go and talk to my son about it. Teenagers ....aaaargh....

My husband had no idea they ate cookies with pot in them. The police asked them if he knew the kids were loaded and he had no idea. So he was raising his voice at my son and the cops were talking loud last night around 10pm. I was sound asleep upstairs and did not wake up at ALL! haha! The last thing I did was post on here that I was tired and Boom, I was out. Geez, and I thought I didn't sleep that well! I wasn't even Drinking! Before I would have felt all guilty because I was drinking and passed out.
My husband told me what happened today when I woke up!

                                Pretty crazy eh?
