OMG, Rox, but why do the Loamers get better chocolate than the Army?

No way are you getting Noname, Ava - if you think she's delicious she may just end up as chow mein! :H:H:H Think I should go for multiple names as well, seeing I'm so indecisive!

Maybe you should just call her "non" short for no-name, kind of has a ring to it.

Thanks for the choccies Rox, i need them after work today. Oops all gone! I have never been one for sharing.

Because the army gets intentional chocolate, stop moaning.

          Nonny?

Cute puppy. I have puppy fever. Just can't afford another dog.
Pav that was a difficult conversation, but it sounds like you handled it great.
We went camping Saturday night. Very pretty. Perfect weather.
Ava take care of yourself. Sorry the boys are sick now. Males sure do complain a lot when sick.
Is it warmer yet Narilly? Snow in May. Yuck.
            Have a bood day all.

                  Rox,
That chocolate was almost too pretty to eat! But I got over that quick

Pav, wow, that converstaion with your son was incredible. One step at a time I guess. Its good to get him thinking about it and to understand the addictive qualities of AL and that it is not just all fun and games. Its a dangerous substance we are dealing with.

Ava, Hopefully you will feel alot better by the weekend. That is some kind of Asian flu you caught! Poor sweetie pie. I love your dog's name. Really? is it that long? haha! It made me laugh.

I read a quote today and want to share:
God often uses our deepest pain as the launching pad of our greatest calling.
I thought this was a great quote whether you believe in God or not.

Today when I was getting ready for work, the wine bottles that my friends drank were in the kitchen by the recycle bin and I looked at them and counted them, I think out of habit. I remember doing that so many times and thinking "wow, I drank that much?". I was so grateful this morning to look at those bottles and know that I did not have a drop of that booze.

I have been listening to the Bubblehour, their podcast is called "A Grateful Heart will Never Drink". It is really good and I truly believe that.

Anyway, talk to you sweeties later, have a great day...off to get some coffee.

                    Hi Loamers!

So it's Monday morning and I'm taking a break. Not feeling too motivated today, but that's ok. Have a baseball game at 4:00 then a basketball meeting at 7:00. These parents are cut throat, vicious. The last meeting ended abruptly because of two fighting. Well, that'll be my entertainment for tonight!

Dottie, I have an ipad and got a keyboard for it. I love it because I can take you girls with me wherever I go and type away.

NS, Kombucha? Now, that doesn't sound very fun to drink.

Pav, I did present last week and it went really well. Rigor is what they want, and rigor is what I gave! As far as the newbie's struggling and not seeing you struggle, I think you're a great role model for them. They are seeing what it takes to stay sober, posting, reading, listening to the Bubble Hour, giving support, getting it. That's what it's all about. It's about building up the AF days to have the confidence in the AF life. So if they're following you, Ava, NS, LB, Jane, Dot and all the long-termers, they'll find success.

Nar, DC will be tiring for sure. I just looked at our itinerary and it looks as though we'll be running from 6:30 a.m. until late with tours, pizza and swim parties, and memorials! Lookin forward to it.

Jane, glad you're feeling at home here. I was thinking that our threads are like homes and you girls are my family. We know others on other threads, and some may be distant relatives, but we're all working towards the same goals.

Ava, now look what you've done! Your babies are sick! Yes, boys are the biggest babies when they're sick. Maddison Elizabeth Charlotte Beatrice is such a sweet, simple name! I hate it when people are too complicated. KISS!

Rox, thanks for the chocolates! They were so yummy! We can get a little introspective about our relationships with chocolate. Mine, for one, has gotten much more intimate than ever. I love drizzly hershey syrup over my vanilla ice cream, love Lindt's chocolate, M & M's and anything that anyone offers me that looks like chocolate!

HI Satz! Thanks for sharing Roxy and her chocs!

Lb, camping sounds too adventurous for me. Do you mean in a tent where there may be lions, tigers, and bears, OH MY???? The last time I went camping was in the fifth grade with the Girl Scouts. Oh, not ever again. Now, maybe with a nice RV or something like that.

                    Have a great day all.

Wow, our second posting male - Welcome, Rahul! Mr. G occasionally stops by but most men seem to stay away . Anyone who is on a mission to get AL out and keep it out of her or HIS life is welcome here. You clearly are on a mission - I have enjoyed seeing your progress!

                            MAE, All:

Hi, Rahul! Maybe we should re-name to the GLOAM thread - gents and ladies on a mission. All comers are welcome, any time. That includes you, too, Rox. I talk about my kids b/c they happen to be a big part of my life right now - what's up with you?? Satz - glad you stopped by, too. I'm jealous of all the dogs - my apt. is very, very small and we are gone 10 hours or more a day, so we can't really get a dog. I love them and wish we could...

Dreamy - Oh, my, goodness. How DO you avoid eating Noname. She's absolutely beautiful! Thanks for the chocs - I'll take mine in ice cream form, please.

Ava - Sorry you're back to the grindstone. And sorry about the man flu your boys have. I hate that my family all get sick when I do and then expect me to help take care of them. Sometimes I like to have the man flu (actually, sometimes I think I'm worse than DH, but sssshhhh).

J-Vo - sounds rigorous! When I was talking about my giving the impression that quitting was easy, I meant to the people not on MWO. If I nonchalantly say "oh, I just decided to quit" instead of letting them to understand how hard it was, I might help perpetuate their fear of working to stay sober. As you all know, I have privacy issues about this - I guess it is the shame that the Bubble Hour ladies and other talk about. I'm working on that, but for example I still am not totally honest about my drinking here (I won't post on Molly's "last days of drinking" thread because I am afraid). Just hate typing that, but there it is.

Jane - I like strange dreams, as long as they aren't too scary. I try to work out where they might have come from - if dreams are a playing out of my sub conscience in some way. Share with me any time...

LB - Camping sober was a novelty to me. Glad you had fun and a good night.

Nar - One question I have for you - did you talk to your friends you had over about your not drinking? If so, what did you say? If not, how did you explain your not drinking? Just looking for some stories of how people have done that.

I have to run - taking son to tutoring. Good night GLOAMERS,

                            Pav

Rahul, welcome! Hangout with us. How's Germany?

I like the thoughts of having both men and women here. The more people on a mission, the better our chances for maintaining our sobriety.

Today was freaking looooong. Work, then shopping for some fat clothes for DC trip, then DH's baseball game, then basketball meeting. Did I tell you I'm one of the officers this year? OMG. So there's a lot to do and we're starting our summer league which will be three games Monday and Wednesday nights, then two games at another school on Sunday nights. All May and June and I'm running the concession stand, buying all the food, candy, ,drinks, and taking care of the money for that. Shit. Isn't it ironic that I had a concession stand phobia for years, and I went and volunteered for this! WTH? So need to go to all the meetings and plan with the board of the league. Bring it on bitches!!!!! This job goes throughout the summer with the basketball camps and into next school year's season. Oh, I have nothing else to do...

                              I'm really tired. Night.

J-vo your trip sounds vigorous. You must be glad to be sober for that.
Jane I have some bizarre dreams about drinking and drugs too. I am so glad when I wake up and it was just a dream.
Rahul glad you are here. We are getting down. Doing the work to stay sober. And having a lot of fun.
Stressful night. SD refused to take a drug test and what a scene. She is elsewhere tonight.
I like hearing about the kids and normal, growing up situations. Makes me feel like there is a whole different, normal world out there.
