SL, I feel the same way. You are my friends and I need you :h

It is tough working all day and then trying to cook, deal with issues around the house etc. I get so tired too. I just fall into bed a lot of nights.

I went for Vietnamese food at lunch time with hubby and my fortune was the best!

If you help someone paddle a boat across the river, you will get across yourself.
Now how good is that? It is just like NS says, like we ALL say. We are helping each other to get across the river girls, one stroke at a time.

Tomorrow is Friday! And it's field trip day!!!!! We're taking our students to a playhouse in town to see "The Devil's Arithmetic." We read and study the Holocaust, read Anne Frank's story, and the play that we'll see. When we got our literature books years ago and I started learning about this topic, I was amazed that these horrific acts only happened a short time ago, and even more sad, still happen today. But knowledge is power.

        Nar,
What a great fortune! Perfect, I say!!!!!! I think that should go into your signature line!! Or else, I'm gonna take it if I can figure out how to add one more line to mine. It won't let me.

NS, that's so cool that you're seeing a transition and progress in your non-al status with regards to security.

Jane, you're a brave girl for cutting your own hair. With my hair being so short, I have to get it cut often, so I do snip at the bangs sometimes. Good luck on your trip!

LB, Kill 'em with Kindness wasn't always my way of doing things. It was taking a two-year old tantrum and showing my insecurities. AVA, you're way more secure, dear, so hang in there and let it go.

I'll have to get that book LB. My fingers and toes are crossed for you, dear.

SL, yep, as long as you're checking in and posting, that's what's important. Yes, my AA experience as NS mentioned was a very negative experience and one that I'm actually glad I had as I wouldn't know that it wasn't for me. Now I know that MWO is for me and it's the best tool I can use. You girls are icing on the cake!

Nar, I think it would be cool to skype sometime! And NS is right, yet again! Damn that woman is nearly perfect! Anyhow, just because the conversation is going on amongst us, we've got a lot of lurkers. People are learning from us that sobriety is not only possible but a great life to live.

Pav, enjoy the play your son is in!

        Night ladies.
Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.

I think we really are making progress. I really do believe that each individual win is a group win. Such a great sentiment. And to any lurkers, keep on reading until you are ready to join us. Just don't quit.
I have been doing a lot of soul searching lately. Thank you NS. You get me. Reading your post brought tears to my eyes. I am feeling this thing step by step. And I HAVE figured out why I am so angry at the situation. I just cannot stand the thought of watching someone self destruct. It's honestly just toooo painful. SD was really sick when she admitted it. And it's a long road back. One she has to do herself, with help of course, but it is her determination that will get her there, or not. She is so young I worry that she can really see a need for it until she destroys her health, beauth, and all personal relationships. I need this place and you ladies more now then ever. This is what keeps me sane.
On the plus side, hubby is growing up and taking responsibility. Baby steps, yes.....but actual STEPS. I am proud. And he now sees the reason for really working on his addiction. It's a red letter day here in Beagle Land. I parrot so many ideas expressed here that I think he is beginning to see a light. One Day At A Time.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.

            Hi, Ladies:

My son was great (a totally unbiased opinion). He had a heartfelt monologue that actually made me cry (another unbiased reaction). It was a lot of fun.

Nar - I love the idea of a Loam podcast or something. I agree it would be fun. Maybe one day I'll not be so concerned about anonymity. We'll see. I noticed that the Bubble Hours women changed - the southern one (Lisa?) left? Or do they switch around?

SL - 100 is a great birthday present to yourself. Thanks for checking in...

J-Vo - another field trip? What lucky students you have. Wish my kid could go to your school...

LB - I can't imagine what it must be like to see someone you love who is so young self-destruct like that. I hope she asks for and gets the help she needs. I'll say it again - your whole family is so lucky to have you. I always think of you when I hear about New Orleans (even though I'm pretty certain you live near Baton Rouge) and Louisianna. I thought of you when I heard this radio story today about kids in the marching band at Edna Karr High School in New Orleans. Very inspirational and uplifting...

NS - Thanks for your words and for the link to your blog.

Jane - Hope those teeth are ok, and did I read correctly? You cut your own hair? Is that due to tonsurephobia? That is one amazing feat. I hope you put that in your *do this and not that* thread!

Dot - Hope the weather has calmed down. It has been extremely hot here (for here, which means high 80s). I actually love it, but I get to work inside in the bottom floor of a cement building that stays pretty cool.

Ava - Hope work is not killing you - I can't believe that you have been sick for so long. Does your dr. think it is something you caught in Thailand?

Good night, Loamers! I, too, know that I owe so much to you all.

              Pav, almost crossed!
You lucky girl, I would love 80 degree weather. We are warming up here though. +17c which is around 65 F.

I am going to my cousins tomorrow about 3 hours north to a city called Edmonton. This is the first time I am going on holidays where I really feel gratitude for not drinking. Usually in the back of my mind I think "oh, maybe I'll have one"
Not this time. It's wierd , I don't want to drink. I am the protector of my brain

Ava, hope your getting better honey. I am worried about you.

              Goodnight sweet ladies

Narilly we cooled down to around 75? F and no humidity for two days. A very unusual occurance for this late in May. The weather man was telling us all to get outside! I took dogsfor a walk and cut a job short go work in the garden.
Ava I too am worried about you.
Pav I know how proud you feel .
J-vo have a great day on that field trip. I remember my first experience learning about the Holocaust. A trip to the City to watch The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. This is something that really stuck with me. I have read many books and done much research on this subject. Just trying to figure out the whys of it. A question for me has always been what would I have done.
                Have a good day ladies.

                  Hi all
I so agree with Narilly: "We have such a powerful group here"!
Yes we are, and I thank all of you for the encouragement, kind words and excellent advice for the last 6 months or so.
Today is 200 days for me (and I only realised that now, towards evening!).
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

                    Good luck Jane.
My son sneaks his girlfriend into his room sometimes but I don't hear anything and she sneaks out before we get up. Crazy kids!

Hey gals, I am going to the market to get some food for my son and hubby since they are going to be alone this weekend. They may starve without me! Haha...actually I love going to the market so I am going to go do that.
Then off to Edmonton I go. I haven't gone away by myself for a long time so this will be fun. I love hangin' around with my cousins. I have packed some Perrier and club soda so I have something non Alcoholic to drink. My one cousin is in the Psychiatric ward and will be coming out on a day pass. Poor guy, he has AL problems and is manic. Its such a sad story. He is a beautiful man brought down by mental illness. He has to take meds and they totally change his personality- like he has none when he is on them but then when he is off them he goes totally manic and that is not good either.

Anyway, I will post from there.

Hey girls, what kind of computer do you use? Right now I am on the home PC but usually I am using my iphone which is a big pain when I am typing on MWO. I am thinking of getting an ipad mini. What would you suggest?

NoSugar, thank you for the HUGE congrats card!!! Much appreciated. I sort of feel like that on the inside: goofy, ecstatic, a little overwhelmed by the idea. I celebrated by having cake and custard for supper (3 megasize helpings).

Sounds like you teach at a school with some resources, J-vo. How nice for you and the kids. I have not read that book but will look it up. I loved the Corrie Ten Boom story but made the mistake of listening to it as a book on tape in the car and at the end, was crying so much I couldn't see to drive. I bet the play was great, LB. My favorite novel on the subject is The Book Thief. I read it after my book club had sworn off Holocaust novels forever (as well as all angsty male southern writers :H) but I was so glad to have made the exception. It is supposedly written for adolescents but I loved it (or maybe that says something about me ).

Nar, you sound so ready for this weekend adventure. Have fun!

Jane, I'm sorry your step-son has you so upset. It probably is difficult to address these kinds of things in a blended family (as dear LB knows :l). What is your husband's take on the teenage sex thing? My main concern would be if he's an adult and she's a minor.

Pav, I don't have a blog so I'm not sure what link you followed . Hope you have a nice weekend after your super-busy week.

Ok, I'm staring a shout-out for people I miss seeing around more often (so glad to hear from you on this, a BIG DAY, Giraffe!).
I hope some of you can just let us know that you're around and doing ok, even if not "perfect" :l.
