180 days Ava, 60 days J-vo, way to go!!!
                That is great!

I am at 46 think which is pretty darned good also.

I did not know (or forgot) that Ellie drank after 4 years sobriety. OMG! That would be awful. Terrible awful - like the book help But seriously, I/we have to make sure that we do not Every get complacent. That is why it is important to keep coming back here and keep talking about it. This addiction just doesn't go away, it is a life time thing and we can't forget that!

SL, you are going to have a 100 day Bash? Make sure you invite me, I will bring a great mocktail. I know you make some good ones yourself. I just saw a recipe for ginger lemonade which I am going to try this weekend. Fresh lemons are delish and so is ginger SO why not mix it up?

My daughter was so happy to see me, she cried and gave me a big hug. Tonight I hope to hang out with her, watch tv and eat popcorn. My son and hubby too. We will drink Perrier, Rootbeer or soda mixed with something non AL. How fun!
I get tomorrow off and am really looking forward to it.

love you ladies, we are so lucky to be here for each other.
                xo

Pav, Ava and j vo - congrats again
                    Hi all,
Just up starting day 2, the last one! My students are doing their finals exams at the moment and I said to them yesterday, well just think, this is the last English paper you will ever have to do... They looked really happy. So, I thought it's quite useful for me to think of my trip like that too. So last day 2 coming up!

How you all have a great Mae

Nar - it is always ice-cream and chocolate - I am a vanilla ice cream girl with hot choc sauce - just trying to work out how to fit in my diet as after a few months of trying I have lost a pound:H It seems that even this thnking of goodies discussion will likely put that pound right back on! Please let me know how the ginger lemonade works out - that sounds great

Pav, j-vo and Ava - nice job! I'm inspired. Ava - I'm thinking of moving to Australia. It's FRIDAY there, and we are still only on Thursday in the States. LOL. Can you tell, I'm anxious for the weekend to begin?

A friend at work today was showing me some very cool chandeliers that she made for her niece's wedding and I'm going to try making one this weekend. I want to hang it on my patio. Kind of shabby chic and glitzy - with solar lights!! I'm such a geek. That's my weekend plans. But it beats what I used to do all weekend long which I would share with you all if I could remember. (bad attempt at humor)

In a much better mood today. My parents took a day off too. They went out with friends for dinner. I had to really push my mom to do it, but I hope they at least have some fun. My brother's mood is desperate. He is giving up. I'm alarmed but have a back up plan. Believe it or not - I actually work with a woman who has survived the exact same cancer my brother has. She too had a trach and a feeding tube and horrid treatments. This lovely, giving woman has offered to go with me to my brother's and have a talk with him. I am overwhelmed. We were never friends or close at work. Just cordial co-workers. And she is willing to do this for my brother. People never stop amazing me.

That's it for tonight. Talk again tomorrow. Wishing everyone a sober, peaceful night.
Everything is going to be amazing

                          Hi ladies,
I am behind reading here. So much to do right now to get rental house up for sale. It is the house I grew up in so hard but I need to do this. I dont have any children or siblings so it is up to me and if something happened to me I dont want dh OR his kids selling this. So there are a list of things the realtor suggested we fix then off we go!!

I never seem to have time for a proper post, but I just wanted to say what a lovely life-affirming thread this is. It's a huge part of the force that's pushing me in the right direction. Tonight, I barely gave alcohol a thought. Love it! So happy to know so many are doing so well!
You had the power all along, my dear.

J-vo I bet you are so glad the year is about to end. These women sound SO obnoxious. And you just don't deserve to be treated that way. I want to punch them. Congratulations on 60 days. :clapclap:
Ava Congratulations on 180 days and 6 months. You are really taking control of your life. Hope you had a great reunion with your baby.
Narilly what a eonderful memory. Have a great day tomorrow.
Pat glad you are with us.
Jane I don't mind talking about the accident. I got blindsided by someone running a red light on my way home from work 1/2 a mile from home. If I was wearing my seatbelt, it would have broken my neck or back. Just a coincidence I wasn't. I always do. Hubby was in the middle of changing jobs, I was living one place and he was working in another about 200 miles away. Here actually. I was planning on separating for awhile, but that didn't happen.
so sorry about that plane trip. How scary. Terrible. Hope you are back to 100% tomorrow.
                                Good to see you Dottie.
NS I felt SO much better after that operation. I had robotic surgery. Awesome. Very little recovery time. Only off work 2 weeks. What freedom!!
I worry about complacency. Relapsing after 4 years. That's tough. This al is a bastard. Always waiting in the wings.
I listened to the bubble hour on finding a balance in life. Thats where I think I'm off kilter. My balance is always out of wack. I am going to work on that.
                                nite all.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.
