          Good morning ladies.

Daisy, way to go, keep your head down and keep moving forward just like you said. You are doing great!
You too Pat! Day 6 is great! How good is it not to wake up with a hangover?
I used to be hungover on Monday So many times. Thank Goodness I am not today, it is Freakin' awesome to wake up feeling good. Yay!

Enjoy your Monday off Lil B! Love ya.

Hey Pav, it is so funny how we cross post almost every night. You know, Jane, my husband would never be able to figure out "buy something for supper" I think that would just push him over the edge..ha ha! He needs a list, there is NO WAY he could ever just wing it. He has to have instructions. Food is not his thing at all. He eats, swallows, digests. But he does NOT cook or plan the cooking.
Although, he is the guy that can build or fix anything. Total handyman, which is awesome, so I have no problem doing the cooking.

          Back to work...

Jane and Narilly, thanks! I got 26 days in february. Before that, almost 2 years ago, I got 80+ days for the second time....have never reached 90...... These are the jumps I need to conquer......
Jane, I have been toying with the idea of a triathlon............ My weakness is the running - just haven't tried it. I swim about 150+ lengths a week and have always cycled though not recently.....smoking doesn't fit well either......not even gonna try to give up until I feel more secure AF.
            This could be a goal!

Aw now! 50 Shades for our Nar!!!! Yeah, sweet Nar! Is that movie out yet? Congratulations my dear Nar! So flippin proud of you! How great it is to be sober with you!

Daisy, love the flower bed analogy! And congratulations on 21 days. You need a coffin? I'll send one over with one of my students inside...

Patrice, how about buying a keyboard for you ipad. I did that as I was typing so much on MWO and it was so happy with it and the ease of posting now. Glad you're doing so well!

Lil B, xxxooo and you are so strong. I'm glad you're letting off a little sadness here. And cleaning out your flowerbed was a great and healthy alternative to what could have been over a year ago. Enjoy your day off.

NS, love your pics. You make everything so festive around here!

MIL still hasn't found a comfortable stride nearly 13 years after losing her husband, who died suddenly from cardiac arrest. My own mother lives an almost solitary existence other than the fact of living in an apartment building, going to the hairdresser once a week, doctors appointments, and car/driver assisted shopping outings once or 2x a month..... She's been a broken record for almost 40 years....miserably lonely but a prisoner of whatever mood disorder/ mental issues she has.

How do people have the will & summon enough energy to go on, but not enough to adapt in a way that improves their lives? That question eats at me. How can we learn to weather transition and focus our energy in a way that helps us steer the boat safely to a location with a climate and society we can thrive in? Is it possible to stay in the same place and thrive? What has to change, and what do we know, based on the collective experience of people that have done it and come out the other end smiling and content?

                  Anyone?

Lol. Heavy stuff for a Monday morning.

                  Love to all
That's a sad way to live, but I fear it may happen to my own parents someday. Will they be able to live without each other? They count on each other so much, and it scares me to even think of it. But you either make a decision to do it or not. Make a decision to live and not just exist. Kind of like we did with drinking. We made a conscious decision to move on without Al, to find life and appreciate it. So it takes work, and some people don't realize that it does take work to move on.

That second paragraph, Jane, I've been relying on God for that. I do what i can, but what I cannot, I leave it up to him.

DS is taking his driver's license test today. OMG. Little nervous but I trust him, I think...Last week of school and the kids are acting even weirder than I am. Yes! I love it! Have basketball tonight, so don't know if I'll get back to you ladies. If I don't, know I'm thinking of y'all!

This is a response to Pav's Bubble Hour Post in NN:

That must have been a great Bubble Hour. I, too, have a hard time with acceptance that I am an alkie, kind of like I might keep it a secret to some people forever. The most important is that I/we accept it like someone accepts that they have lupus or diabetes. They have to take steps to encourage healthy lifestyles so that their symptoms stay at bay, as we have to do the same by communicating with others and staying current in our recovery. I need to work on combinations also _________ and sober is possible! Yep. I like that.

                      Here's one...

"Summer and Sober" is a possible combination. I've never had one. Well, a consistently sober one where moderation was really working.

It's great that you identified that you could be facing some temptation...awareness is so important....and post post post post. I remember reading Ava's advice to do that and she said it enough times that I thought "hmmm. There must be something to that, I'll just do what she says to do and see what happens." Let me tell you, there are times in this fight where being a robot has been a great ally to me. I posted like she said to, and I got thru. I can't emphasize enough that it gets easier after the first 3 months. Until then, treat it like boot camp. It's so worth it.

Thanks for this Jane! (And Ava)

Don't you worry Little Miss Daisy I know you are happy for me as I am for you.

J-Vo, whew, I get Hot just Thinking of 50 Shades of Nar! lol! Thank you for your post sweeheart. OMG, I sound so old when I say that. 'sweetheart' I had an old boyfriend who wrote me a hundred letters once and kept calling me 'SWEATheart'! Haha! Really? I sweat alot?

Hey you know, my mom is 80 and my dad has been gone since 2006. My mom has taken life by the horns. She drives, goes to weddings, funerals, volunteers, gardens, hangs out with the women in the neighborhood. It always cracks me up because one of the couples she hangs with are a lesbian couple but whatever! She is happy and I am lucky. She uses her ipad all the time and has friends all over the world. She came here in 1963 from India and is totally Westernized, more than the people from India that grow up here. It is quite amazing. Most Indian ladies her age live with their kids and don't drive.
My mom lives in a big house on the hill and rents the basement. She does not have to worry about money at all. (although she does because it is part of her nature)
Anyway, she seems totally different from your MIL Jane.

Ok, Back to work for this gal. Oh, I just got an email from Apple- The Mini has shipped!
