    Congrats Rox!!

    Morning Loamers,

Having lots of people here for Father's Day Picnic. Mom and Dad in from east of state. Cousines, aunts on mom's side are coming also. So I guess about 25 people total. The yard is ready and it's going to be a beautiful day. A beautiful AF day.

Have a great one ladies. xxxooo

Giraffe, I just say I don't drink anymore. If people ask why, I tell them it makes me sick. Depending on who it is, I might say that I am not one of those people who can just have one.

It's a bit cool here today so I am hunkering down and watching the World Cup.
        I have a headache today.
It was weird last night I had a dream that I woke up and thought I drank last night. So I was checking my mouth to see if it was true. I was trying to see if I had that bad hangover taste. It was so scary because I was totally confused when I woke up.
        Thank goodness it wasn't true!

Hope everyone is well. Lil B, enjoy the sun. I wish it was sunny here but at least I have the day off. Yay,

I'm home. The beach was wonderful. Lots of red seaweed still.
            Congratulations Roxy. 50 days. Yeah!!!
Hope you had a great fathers day party J-vo.
Sorry for that drinking dream Narilly. I just look on these as warnings from my brain. And it feels SO good to wake up and it's not true.

              Hii Lil B,
Glad you had a nice beach weekend. I bet it was peaceful. Hope the dogs enjoyed themselves! I know one did for sure!

It was a great picnic today. I guess I get annoyed sometimes looking at alcohol. LIke I want it out of my way. My mother was sitting next to me, and I smelled her wine and it annoyed the shit out of me. Well, I don't just think it was that, but the last week or so, after my "funk" I became very short-tempered towards my DH and DS. I don't know if it's the nicotine not being in my system anymore or what. I've been NF for 14 days. Haven't smoked for about two months but was on patch until 14 days ago. I'm just feeling a bit pissing. I'm glad my folks are staying at my sister's house, who lives about 10 minutes away from me. I don't need the extra stress, and that's a given when I'm around them. I love my freedom right now from work/school responsibility and I don't want anything to get in the way of that peace and quiet time I have for myself. Still don't know why I feel like such a bitch. This too shall pass.

Tomorrow is a normal summer day. Tomorrow I'm working the concession stand. That's it lovely ladies. I hope we can get back on a better roll with Loamers. I feel as though we need to get excited about us again. We need to get rejuvenated somehow. Maybe it's just me still in the funk. I don't want to drag you pretty girls down with me. Oh, I'm just waffling now. I love waffles, btw. Ok. Going to bed soon. Love you all.

                  I'm baaaaaak.

Way to go, ROXY!!! I hope you didn't think Ava would let you take this quietly. Congratulations on your first 50 days, and here's to 50 more!

Sorry you're pissy, J-Vo - that was me last week.

The memorial was beautiful - challenging to do it all without drinking, but really mostly as I was heading there I felt anxious and out of sorts. One of the children of the woman who died had a shot of vodka to calm her nerves (better than xanax), and I thought of how quickly that would work for me, and how great it would feel. Now, if I could leave it at that, I sure would have had that shot, but we all know I can't. I was happy to have pushed through the anxiety without the crutch of alcohol, and it was a wonderful day.

I will waffle later - for now I just got home and am very tired (typing in bed...)

                  Good night (PST).

                  xo

thanks all for the thanks. im embarrassed by it, and I could string ava up for posting it on more than one thread. im not telling her again.

j-vo nicotine withdrawal does make you short tempered, agitated. so its you, not them! it will pass and well done for chucking the smokes in the bin.

                        Hi all,
Home and knackered.. So hot here, 35 or 36, humidity through the roof.. The cross trainer is sitting there waiting, maybe when the sun goes down....
                        Hope you're all doing well...
Today is 19 days booze free and as you all say, posting daily has made a difference, thanks for putting up with my short dull posts which are all about Me, but hols are coming up and time will be abundant!!
I'm really glad the World Cup is on, it's proving to be a great distraction for me
                        Xx

thats pretty damn hot Pat, glad its you but i would not say no to a bit more warmth than what we have. I hate having the heater on to dry the clothes and its glove weather now in the mornings.

Good on you for 19 days and yes it helps to post daily or twice daily to be accountable. Hey you will be interesting when you use that cross trainer lol. i would be looking at it too in that humidity. Maybe you should head this way on your hols.

Im busy trying to finish a scarf for tye so i can start another as its my daughters boyfriends birthday in a few weeks. im getting bored with scarves so maybe it is time to move onto maybe a vest. now how hard can that be?

Well sounds difficult but I'm sure it will be great when it's finished..yeah I really hate winter, I don't mind it for a month but it seems to go on and on. But the heat here I hate too.. Something temperate, I lived in Queensland for 3 years and I loved the climate there!

Patrice I sympathize with you about the heat. Its pretty darn hot here too. And humid. But hey, that's summer.
J-vo congratulations on the not smoking. That is a big deal. And probably causing stress. I am glad you are enjoying your summer. Have fun with the concession stand.
Pav welcome back. When I push through challenging events like you, I too feel a huge sense of accomplishment.
Ava I grew up wearing homemade knitted vests. Not so sure about that. Boy was I a dweeb.:H

                                Good day all

Available, thank you for the perspective - it certainly does help! It's not often that people question why one does not drink, but it happened to me twice last week.

Narilly, your answer is a good one; "I'm not one of those people who can only have one". It says enough without being overly dramatic about the whole thing.
                                Thanx gals!

Roxy, a belated congrats on your success and fortitude - well done!!!
Hope everybody has a wonderful Monday - here it's a public holiday, aka the perfect Monday!
