Ava, I am going to watch that show Mom. It sounds like I could relate to it and If YOU like it, it must be good! You are a liar and a bullshitter? Whatever F'Wad! We are so done with him.

Glad your boss is off this week. He is such a knob.

Hey G, Yoga sounds great and free yoga sounds even better. Hope your week goes well.

Life, you are sounding good girl! Enjoy those clean sheets...I sure did. I can't wait to get back into them tonight. I am going to watch a movie after work called 'The Lunchbox' It looks really good. I will let you all know.
Jane, It is set in India, you might like it.

Well, I woke up at 5:00 am and went to the Premier's Stampede Breakfast, no hangover, of course! So grateful for that!
There was a band there playing country music, coffee, pancakes, sausages and eggs, ladies line dancing. What fun! I am wearing my cowboy boots and western wear to work today and might go to square dancing. My boss is not Stampede friendly so it isn't easy to get out of work.
Anyway, it is a great day!

Morning - my sheets are in the wash as we speak:H - Did both girls beds this weekend and felt deprived that they had sweet smelling beds and not I - changing that right now - I also love a clean bed!!!
Glad your experience is going well, though a bit tough G.
j-vo - 5 years:upset:Can't even thing that - so will just go back to today!!!
Kailey - I understand how you feel, I have unsubscribed from this thread a few times - but when I go to new posts, I see it, check it out and add in. I have resolved to being a short poster, without all the insight some of the others have - I try not to stress about keeping up, or posting wonderful thoughtful responses.....to everyone. I also work at not getting my feelings hurt if one of my posts does not get a reply (I do feel silly writing the last point, but it is there ). This journey is about you and when you are trying to win, you need to try to do whatever will work for you to win. If jumping on here once in a while and getting something good out of it, then so be it!
Hi all other Loamers:l Off to make my bed....

        Hi Ladies and G-man!!
So nice to see you here, Mr. G-- You are one of the brave! I am also glad to hear your outpatient is going so well. I could sure use some of the financial advice, I'll tell ya..

So I'm just stopping by quickly as I'm off to meet a girlfriend for after work "drinks"-- I feel ok going with her, to a caf? not a bar-- and she is someone I've talked to before about my problems with AL and someone who doesn't have a problem with not drinking. I am planning on talking to her about it again this evening. I want to let her know that I've stopped for good so that we don't have any future misunderstandings.

        Lots going on here today.
A big fat hug and kiss to you all!

Actually, it's funny SL. I was thinking of you when I was sitting in bed with my clean sheets. I thought, I have to tell SL I have clean sheets! Funny, ever since the beginning when you got a new bed and then a nice picture beside it (our picture)

Life, have a good chat with your friend. Change is tough sometimes, hopefully your friend understands.

Kailey, I short post all the time. I always have. Some of us don't have a ton to say or just say it in short sentences! Once in a while I come up with something with a lot of insight but basically, I just like to come here and chat.
It helps me to say over and over that I am grateful for being sober. It really helps me to talk about AL issues with you beautiful women who really understand this struggle. Strength in numbers, right!

p.s. SL, I love your short posts!

That is a pretty universal feeling around here, I think, SL. I've heard it from many people. True confessions here: sometimes I convince myself that certain people just must not like NoSugar at all and are deliberately ignoring her questions and comments (which, of course, I myself take personally ). I try to step back and look at it as good 2-D practice for not trying to please everyone or worry about what they think of me in the 3-D world. Some people probably don't like my (strong) opinions or style. More often than not, though, it probably is just circumstances and not a deliberate slight.

Hey, Pav, I just listened to that Bubble Hour episode and loved it. The guest, Scot, kind of reminded me of you - a life of the party type of guy who was afraid of losing that but found out he was "more" without the drug. One think he mentioned was how tired he was of worrying about his drinking and his need to quit drinking. It brought me back to those 5 points that Unpickled posted. It is misery while you're in the Contemplation and especially Preparation stages. The thing is, there is no way to go back to the Precontemplation stage (We can't actually get unpickled and be cucumbers again). After you know some things about your relationship with AL, there is no way to innocently enjoy a glass of wine or even the occasional night of "too much". But those are exactly
the things we remember when we have wistful, fond feelings or euphoric recall.

I think what we're trying to do around here is help people get past the Preparation stage that they're in and on to the Action and Maintenance phases ASAP. Since there is no way to go back to when things were good, it makes sense to spare yourself the time, effort, and frustration.

Heya ladies. I am in a funk today for no good reason.
Hopefully I will wake up tomorrow feeling better. More cheerful I mean.
I don't have much to contribute tonight, but I am reading here a lot and it helps.
                Gosh, it helps a lot.

A funk without the overarching guilt and anxiety caused by drinking probably will pass pretty quickly. I hope you have a good sleep and no headache tomorrow! :h NS

Ok, I just have to say this now so I don't keep obsessing about it.

I met a co worker outside at lunch time. Beautiful sunny, hot day here. I am squinting because I don't have my sunglasses. She says to me "Are you drunk?" I said, "what? Why would I be drunk? Why did you say that?" I was so frickin' offended! Really? I don't drink and if I did, I certainly wouldn't be drinking at lunch time! What a stupid thing to say!
In her mind she was just being cute and kind of playful, I think. She is from a different culture so I don't think she got that that was offensive. Anyway, that pissed me off!

                          Whew. I feel better.

I 'may' be a little sensitive about this topic.

Well, I don't think it was a very clever thing to say (what does squinting have to do with being drunk ?) but I think we are probably a little more sensitive to those "jokes" than someone who doesn't have a problem with alcohol. The place I've noticed it is in greeting cards -- there sure are a lot of them all about getting drunk. I can't say they seem very funny (or appropriate) to me.

Oh Nar did you want to punch her lights out lol. We do get a tad defensive dont we. I had a workmate yesterday who is doing "dry July" here and she said she so wanted a glass of wine on the weekend as she was away and how nice it would have been to sit on the verandah with a glass of wine and i just said that i was doing "dry July" also and i would like to be doing the same thing but for me it would have been a couple of bottles not just one to enjoy. I have actually mentioned to another workmate that i gave up drinking a few months ago and all she said was "good". And here i was thinking no one noticed my drinking.

My sheets are in the machine as i am typing, it is windy here so hope they dont get blown away while i am at work. i know if i leave them for the boys to hang out they wont get dry and i will get annoyed.

No time to answer everyone as must get ready for the day. Oh the great news is since my boss is away i am on a go slow so heaps of time to read mwo, all day long, i like that!.

Mr G, no toupe today, bit windy!
