We are so fortunate to have each other, all. Thank you! 60 days. . This post is so long that I feel like I need to join J-vo and Pavati's ranks.
I love the long posts, HR. It takes a lot of words to talk about the important stuff . I think the kinds of posts we're seeing here are needed if we want to keep this thread going. Some days a quick check-in is what works but if all we do is take attendance, the thread will fade away. I really hope we all put in the effort to keep this one strong. Mr. G called it 'lively' - that sounds like a good goal to me!

Since you had 30 days in the bank when you joined MWO, HR, I'm always happily surprised to see how far along you are! Congratulations on getting those 2 months behind you and heading into this new year from a position of strength.

Oh haha, Byrdie! Love my awards. :sofa: I'm not hiding, I swear, on my over to the nest right now, lol.

NS, I came here with 19 days under my belt, so I had a good start. I lurked a while not only because I'm a bit introverted but also because I wasn't sure I could handle all the support I get here, which serves to keep me thinking sober thoughts.

Star, thinking of you today. Hope this is resolved soon.
Humble, that was a great post.
Isn't it nice getting up so early? I love that! I totally slept in today since we got in late last night but that's ok.
AL is definitely a depressant. I know it made me feel so depressed sometimes, especially when I was going through a hard time. It always made things worse. I'm so glad I am not drinking!

Have a great Jan 1st everyone!

              Hi Ladies
Sorry to hear about your troubles with your daughter Starfish. Glad everyone stayed sober.
Unfortunately I am on day one but happy to be getting on with it. I wanted to do a run this morning but that will have to wait until later today or tomorrow. I did go for a beautiful run yesterday afternoon.
All the best to you for a Happy, Healthy and AF 2014!

Morning all - well it is still to us on the West Coast!
Girls still alseep, not sure when they will appear.
I actually and delightfully slept last night - maybe midnight bedtime is a good idea?
Day 4 today, and Day 1 of a NY.
Humble, lovely to get to know you better - lovely post. Where in Ca are you?
Star - so sorry. I know your daughter has caused you lots of worry and stress recently. I hope all works out and maybe she will get the help you know she needs:l
FF - welcome back - 2014 is going to be a great year - and we have to ensure that we make it such!
Just putting my old calendar away - I am happy to see 23 green dots in Sept, 26 in Oct, 28 in Nov and 28 in Dec - that is 105 out of 122. I am ok with that, but plan to keep moving forward and not slip back at all...
Happy and Great 2014 to all the ladies here - thank you each and everyone for all the support.

                        Morning LOAM's

Well nicely brewed cup of tea so be prepared for the loooooong post, i love my morning fix of you guys. Migraine gone thank god, it was a pearler as we say over here.

Free welcome back, make yourself comfy and enjoy our rants!

NS so many ailments sigh and basically all due to al as i am a healthy person. It annoyed me that i never got sick so did not get any attention lol. Al made me sicker than any virus/cold etc in the long run but not anymore. I agree with your regret but maybe we just were not ready to get rid of al, i know i wasnt until now.

Pauly hello and Happy new year. I used way too much bleach cleaning and think that started it off but damn the kitchen is clean.

Star my thoughts are with you and hope everything turns out okay. Let us know. Hugs x

Jvo feeling on top of the world, made me realise yesterday that how i felt yesterday i really felt everyday with a hangover. the only thing with a hangover was more al so i could feel the same the next day. Today i am bright and cheery and the sun is shining here!

Humble hugs and flowers to you for Day 60, what an achievement to be proud of and you are a lifeline to us on here. Your way with words always makes me wish i could write like you instead of just throwing it all out there! I keep reading about your posts with headaches and I just keep thinking yours have gone so mine will eventually. They are annoying me no end having them daily but i poured al into my body for 20+ years so whats a headache everyday, reminds me of why I dont drink and dont want to drink. So many positives in my life now.

RL keep going girl we are here for you. ODAT but keep posting. Oh i so need to get my butt into gear to get outside. Had great plans for the time off and yep nothing. Keep thinking of yourself and take care.

SL i actually went and bought a calendar as someone suggested putting dots on it. Where did i put that damn calendar. I will dig it out today and start as i think it is a great idea to keep track. 105 our of 122 is impressive. If I had done that before i would have probably one or two dots and given up and drank myself into depression that i could not even achieve any af days. Glad they are behind me.

Dot glad you are loving DH lol. Makes life a hell of a lot easier i can imagine. did you go and buy some bling?

Where is Pav? Pav you there? Pat??

Well a reasonably short post from me today. I realised my SIL will be here Friday and will visit on Saturday, she did suggest staying but i skipped over that bit of the email but i will see her. Of course she is going to "drill" me on why i am not drinking and surely i can drink in moderation so i think i will need to yell that I AM AN ALCOHOLIC so she gets it. Her of all people should know, she married my alky brother. Gees!

The news is full of alcohol fueled violence from New Years today. More people king hit and either dead or critical in hospital. All wondering what can be done to stop this. If the government put in as much effort into alcohol as they do smoking then maybe people would listen. Its very very sad to imagine what the parents are going through let alone the victim.

Well today i am finally going to finish the kitchen now i feel normal and my shitzu is getting groomed (as she lays next to me under the covers). She bites me if i try to groom her so off we go for a lovely price of $85. That could go on a pedi or something for me but she is so worth it.

Have a great MAE guys and its a wonderful feeling that we all made it through to New Year af. Today i will not drink.

Quick pop in - Happy New Year, loamers!

Humble - congratulations on your 60 days. You have tackled this thing with a quiet humility and strength that I SO appreciate. Your words are measured but precise. I am happy to be hanging on to your coattails - keep us moving forward, lady!

Star - that must be so difficult for you. My heart is with you and your family. This would be a good time to try to stay sober so that you can be there mentally to do what you need to do for and with the rest of your family. Stay strong - we are here to support you!

We had friends and my sister over for dinner last night - my sister is not in a happy state right now, divorce and empty nest, and she ended up drinking too much. I felt bad for her this morning, but a little smug, too (I didn't let her know, only gave her sympathy). I had such a great time last night AND I don't feel like s#!t this morning. How great is that?

Tree down and the living room vacuumed. Maybe another hike and movie later (I LOVE vacation!). Hope you are all having a fabulous Jan. 1. I'm sure I'll be back later. xo

                              xpost, Ava.

Glad you feel better. I woke with a sinus headache (this dang cold won't go away) but nothing like a hangover.

The alcohol-induces violence is scary - people don't really have control at a certain point. One of the things that got me from that "Old Before My Time" doc. that you shared (I think it was you?) was ho many of those young people in the ER were there because of alcohol.

Anyway - off to do some cleaning (maybe). See you around today...
