Ladies on a Mission: The Official Site

    MAE all,

Just popping in real quick to say I DID IT!!! I made it through my paddling weekend and post-race event without drinking, so today is Day 130 instead of Day 1. Yay! Thanks so much for all your help in advance - it really put me on the right foot.

One of my teams got the silver medal in out division, my other team didn't medal, but it was a fantastic weekend for the most part. Some drama last night re: the fact/rumor that I'm switching teams - I had several semi-drunk people approach me and give me their two cents. It was....interesting. I will have to wait and see how things shake out over the next few weeks.

I'll be back on later to read back and catch up with everyone.
Everything you want is on the other side of fear.

Thanks LB, I have been thinking about you and hoping you are doing okay?
I just do not understand how anyone could misinterpret the 'no alcohol with this medication' warning stickers they put on the medicine bottle?
I have been on lots of meds for seizures and then depression and, when taken off them, while in the hospital, counseled about the good possibility of alcohol becoming a problem for me in the future. They were right.
I do not understand, either, about people taking meds to be able to drink? All new ideas that I really am better off Not knowing about.

All very difficult things to deal with. So, I will do my best to keep on the 'no alcohol at all, ever' train of thought.
Hope things are improving for you LB!

Wag, so glad you stuck to your guns.
Day 2 for me and still feel resolute that this is the only way forward for me. Yes, I messed up and it has taken me a whole month to get back. But it was also a learning month, which I never want to repeat.
I actually got scared that I would not make it back and not only mentally! The physical damage that I can feel and see after that time is what finally convinced me enough is enough.
Thanks to my good friend Ava for allowing me to explore that last piece of the puzzle even though I could not get through a sober day. I did 2 AF days in all that time.
Very tired and shaky inside but I know this will pass soon. I am not bothered this time that I am starting over because I know I want this and will go on and on.....
My falls in the past have pushed me to hide away and go deeper and deeper into the mess.....I did, but any deeper this time and I do not know what the outcome would have been.
Eloise, so proud of you girl!

              Morning ladies,
5K run is November 8. Progressive training again today. Now that the weather might be cooling off I can get outside and do my training. The treddie beats nothing but I would like time on real streets to simulate running conditions. Hubbs said he might do the training with me. I will believe it when I see it but I was totally surprised when he said he would do the walk ....so who knows maybe I will turn him into a jock after all......NOT..but I can hope.

                      MAE Gloamers,

Nar...SNOW????? Can you give me a WTH!!!! Brrrr. That's way too early for that. I know that won't keep you from having a great week, gf.

LB, thinking of you lots and sending you cyber hugs.

Jane, wow. Get better my friend. I think there's mold issues in my classroom. It always had this really rank smell. Everyone comments on it when they come into my room. I have a mold testing kit, but it costs too much to do it. If anyone has any knowledge on this, let me know.

Pav, blah is better than hungover. Anything is better than hungover. Hang in there, lady.

El, 27 kids up from 5! They must have told their friends what a great program you have. Good luck tomorrow. Can't wait to hear how it went. Hope you feel better.

Wags, glad to hear you had a successful weekend!

Daisy, wow, did I feel the physical damage as well. You will heal. Takes lots of time, but you're worth it. Hang in here with us.

Dottie, what's involved in progressive training?

It was a great Monday. I actually like Monday's now! I have energy in the morning, and not having that fuzzy head I always started with in the beginning of the week which lasted until Wednesday is something I'm extremely grateful for. Have a great night all.

Daisy i feel this is it. Starting over is very hard. This is your last and you WILL feel good again. Real quick. :clapclap:
                            Wow Jane what a week.
I too am glad at the start of the week to feel good J-vo.
My Fridays use to be so conflicted. I wanted to relax and have a good time but that AV was so strong. All i could think about was having that drink, then Sunday would roll around and I had to face the upcoming week. All i could think about was going back to Friday and redoing everything. Not taking that first drink. And then finally I didn't take that first drink after work on Friday, had a Sunday with no regrets. After about 8 of those Fridays, the thought of alcohol wasn't the first thing I thought of on Friday morning, but what I was going to do that was fun and relaxing. Fridays are no longer a dreaded anticipation. And Sundays are no longer filled with regrets, but gratitude.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.
