Congrats Rivergal!!! It will just keep getting better and better!!

Visited dad today and he was not with it. Broke his razor again and looked like a bum. Fortunately dh was able to put it back together and I had dad shave right then. It is so sad to hear him talk and know he will only get worse.

Gym tomorrow and relax. Weather is getting cool and it is very nice out right now. Maybe we can take 2 of our dogs for a walk. We have 4 and one of them is scared of his own shadow....poor little fellow.

      Have a great evening.

Thanks Eloise. I'm hanging in there. Feeling a bit blue, but i know I'll feel better in a couple of days.

Has our mission been accomplished? All of us free and sober for life ? Maybe we need some "new recruits" to keep us fresh and focused on our goal - or, people who have tried before and are ready to try again. "Hanging out" with people who are living the way you want to live makes it more likely that you will live that way, too. Recovery is contagious .

I went out to dinner with friends last night and hadn't even thought about the "wine issue" until we were actually ordering. It was so different from the first couple times when I planned in excrutiating detail how I would handle it. Turns out that it isn't a big deal to anyone when a non-drinker doesn't drink.

No Sugar I thought the same thing the last time hubby took me out for dinner. I ordered that ice water with lemon and just didn't give it a second thought.
            Jane :l.
I personally need to be here. I am getting so much more then I am giving right now. I'm not having drinking thoughts, it's the emotional support that is helping Sooo much right now.
            :thanks:

              Hey, LB

You are supporting people by being here and showing us that in spite of incredible challenges, there is no excuse to drink :l.

I hope your husband has been able to get back on track.

                  HI all,
Wanted to let you know that I bought a subscription to Soberistas. I really love the information that is available at my fingertips. Blogs, videos, and lots more. It will be worth the $55 that i paid. I feel like I needed more than I'm currently getting from this site. I have trouble with it, and it hasn't been updated since I joined back in '08. It's time for me to move on and add some additional things to my recovery. I'm looking into "celebrate recovery" also. It's kind of like AA but not the same principals. It's held at my church once a week. So I'm going to be absent from this site for a while. I'll check in to see how everyone is doing, but I didn't want you wondering if I fell off or not. I think I would fall off if I didn't incorporate these new things into my recovery, though. I want to take extra steps that I haven't before, and I think I need face to face support as well as a site that works! Please take care and email me, Facebook me, or text. I'm not going too far. Love you all, and thank you for all of your support this past year.
Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.

It was thoughtful of you to let us know your plans, J-vo, and not leave anyone wondering what had happened to you.

I hope you find exactly what you need at Soberista's and in your church group. You've spent almost all of the last 11 months AF. Maybe these changes will help you find the last little piece you're looking for.

We'll look forward to updates - and please come back and share any of the great things you learn!

Just want to say a quick Hello!

Glad you posted J-Vo. I know you will come back once in awhile

We know how to find you anyway... hey, I might joint Soberistas myself just have more info at my fingertips. I have to make sure to fit in recovery time because if I don't it will just lead to relapse.

                          Big hugs from moi!

I was thinking Jvo what a wonderful school year this one is going to be to look back upon. I am pretty sure that with all this searching you are going to find what you need to make this all click into place once and for all.
I am looking forward to hearing all about how it goes!
