j-vo - I'm so sorry about your Mother. Praying for you and sending lots of good thoughts. Good plan on staying AF. Be sure to check in so that we can all give you support. :huggies:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Coming in quickly before my day runs away - been a long week, I am sure it is Friday (I was sure it was Friday yesterday!)....
J-vo, please reach out if we can help...message me if needed. You offered to help me as a teacher with my concerns with my daughter - I am happy to help as a friend or find info if needed as a nurse...“The only courage you will ever need is the courage to live the life you want"

Hey JVo, thinkin about you. Hope things go ok...its really hard to have sick parents, I know. Good thing you don't drink! Thanks for checking in while you were at the airport.
Choices, have you ever listened to The Bubble Hour? That really helped me in the early days of sobriety.
TT, I watch Mad Men once in awhile and have watched all of Breaking Bad, which was awesome. I only have 3 episodes of How to Get Away With Murder left. It has been pretty good actually. I am always on the look out for another good one though.
Lil B, I will check out Fargo.
Nice to hear from you NoraC!
This Hot Lady on a Mission is signing off now. Bye Bye.Narilly

Nar - have you watched the English/French version of The Bridge? The US version is not bad.
Then of course there is The Killing (Scandinavian version is best) but the US version is good too
Top of the Lake - set in nz?
And of course The Wire.
Did I mention Wolf Hall?
Guess it depends on what providers you have because much of this stuff ain't on Netflix.
Sorry to repeat this but Nar has needs!
Hi there everyone else.

Thanks for all your thoughts. Mom is home and we are all with her. She's got the extra challenge with her ALS so very small steps towards getting better. And lots of patience. Sounds like what we all need on our journey. Acceptance is another. It was devastating news when we learned of moms diagnosis. But with support of family, friends and an ALS support group, they are meeting each challenge to the best of their ability. :love:Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.

Hi, All:
J-Vo - Good thoughts coming your way from the West coast. Thanks for checking in.
Nar, I LOVE cooking shows!
Hi, Nora!
G - you crack me up.
Hi, everyone else. Not much to report. Also am quite busy. Had a good heart to heart with the DH tonight - much needed reconnect in our busy lives.
I LOVE dogs, but also my freedom to come and go as I please. So far, freedom has won. We'll see when the kids leave the house.

Funny how full our lives can be when we kick the booze out! It's important to me to check in here each day, anyway, but at least y'all are spared my waffles (love that word !).
Stay strong, J-vo. What a gift to truly be there for your mom. Congrats on your 30 days and Mr G's 90. Congrats to all of us on any - including one!!
I'll be flying across the country tomorrow and hoping not to spend too much time in airports. They keep talking about wintry weather but hey, it's November so they should be prepared.
Take care of yourselves, Gloamers. WE ARE WORTH IT!!

NS, I don't know how you do it..all that travelling would be hard for me. I am kind of a home body.
You are sounding good JVo. I am glad you are here. Sounds like your mom is getting better.
TT, I have watched the first 2 seasons of The Killing-the US version. I have to watch the rest. Sometimes is seems to drag...I love the guy Detective though. He is HOT.
I have watched the bridge with subtitles, that was good.
I have heard The Wire is good, I will look for that.
Feeling good on Friday. So nice to wake up Un Hung. I went swimming before work yesterday- In the pool at 6am and today I went for a walk before work. I feel SO good. Lovin' the Sober life! I have been drinking since I was 12 so this is definitely something new for me.
Nothing like waking up feeling good.Narilly

Safe travels, NS!! and yes, they should be ready for some cooler weather, shouldn't they? And by the way, I would love to read more waffling posts from your end!
Nar, I love getting things done in the morning before work.. especially something for myself, like a walk or meditation. These past days I wasn't able to and I'm feeling it tonight. A bit anxious, overly tired, easily annoyed. I know NOT to go out again, as there is a voice in my head that I've been trying to shut the f*** up for the past 2 hours. Almost gone, I think..
I made pizza for the kids and now I'm distracting myself with Fargo.. Loved all the recommendations here.. thanks!
Big shout out hello to everyone spending time here today..
