NS, sorry to hear of yet another delay. What a huge PIA.. did you say it was weather related?
SL, I am going out to get myself some flannel sheets for the winter! I haven't had them since I was a kid, but I think it's time again.. have a wonderful, cozy day!

So happy to be going to bed with a clear head.. so happy to have you Gloamers in my life. I'm looking very much forward to an Un-hung Monday morning.. see you all soon.

I am feeling chipper - amazing what not drinking can do - lots going on, but trying to see the positive and not let things get me down.
I find the holidays hard - we are a micro family, and the holidays bring that home to me - so realizing this I am trying to be proactive and thinking my way into enjoying whatever I can...
Mind games continue with the father of my girls, but I WILL not let him get to me...
Flannel sheets are great LC - got out of mine at 10, but the weather is not bad here so just having a (well deserved) lazy day.
Off to take one girl to party, then taking other to get some stuff for Thursday (a big day over here!!!), and new PE shoes...amazing how that just came up!
My youngest is the stresser TT - she had a bio final and was getting all wound up - it is hard when her sister gets tutoring and she doesn't but at $1000 a month it is tough - I did get her a couple (of off the book) sessions with the tutor and that reassured her - amazing how a young tutor can make an impression when an old mother cannot!
NS - get home safe......and soon!

I'm here. Really enjoying reading back.
        Welcome Fennel.
I've been on a working, sewing marathon this weekend.
And i like my flannel sheets too. Nice and warm. We finally have a bit of cool weather here. And our central heating is working again after 3 years.
I'm always grateful for an unhung weekend.
I hope you made it home NS.

28 hours late but made it . Thanks for all the positive vibes! Tom Hanks came to my mind too, TT!

I think I read the entire NYT today and really loved this piece about gratitude, so appropriate for the week of US Thanksgiving:

If I had to name the single most important thing for me in gaining/maintaining sobriety, gratitude would be it (and of course I love it that this article explains some of the science behind how it works :wink.

Thanks for the link NS.mglad you got there safe.

Wow, this thread is busy! So many hot ladies on a mission, lol.

SL, you are sounding great. LC, I highly recommend them, they are very cozy on those cold nights. We have a few of them up here in The Great White North.

            Welcome Fennell.

I had a nice weekend. got my hair cut at 9:30 am yesterday and went to a play last night. A few years ago I would never have booked a haircut before noon on a Saturday. It is so nice to be able to have a life before noon on the weekend. Love being Un Hung!

Looking forward to an Un Hung Mon.

Me too Nar! Our quit dates are very close, forgot about that.
                It gets easier, right?!
I think so. What I find really remarkable is that over time quitting becomes more and more important to me.

Morning all - Monday morning at that and happy to be UnHung!
I was chatting with a friend and realized this is the most relaxed I have been about not drinking - I think the pressure has gone. I worried when everyone would post that each time it got harder, but maybe because I never went back to bad?? I know that I never closed the door - did not know how to do that, even though I knew it was needed. Honestly, not sure it is totally closed now either, but I know I like not drinking and that is so different. I do not want this to be a chore, or a bad thing and just now it is a good thing, and that works just fine for me...
LC - Nar & I have a thing about our beds - I bought new mattress a while back (I needed one, but chose to celebrate using a milestone to take the plunge) and we bonded over beds then - it is amazing how wonderful sleep is when not drinking! I brush my teeth, moisturize where needed, drink water because I want to and sleep restfully, often waking with a smile - what more could a girl want??

One girl is on a sleepover (text came from party) - so hoping for no drama! Other one sleeping. I get to work from home today....
Have a good Monday all - and a short week in the US..

Read the article NS and it works. I had also read about smiling this weekend and this truly works for me - I actually make myself smile when driving to work and feel much better when I arrive...

                      Hi Gloamers!
What a wonderful post to read, SL! I love the bed talk.. I also have a wonderful bed and I'm SO enjoying sleeping in it these days. I love it when I wake up in the middle of the night (which I almost always do) and stretch and feel my bare feet against the soft blankets.. no dry mouth, no headache, no stress about not being able to fall back to sleep, no regrets about some stupid shit I did or said. And then I wake up rested and ready to take on the day. Almost every morning.. and if one morning that isn't the case, I'll be able to deal with it in a sane way. Bliss.. I also really liked this.... but I know I like not drinking and that is so different. I do not want this to be a chore, or a bad thing and just now it is a good thing, and that works just fine for me...! Spot on..

Eloise, it's your fault that I've been thinking about pumpkin pie for the past 2 days!! I'm going to try out a very healthy version this weekend.. Did you say you are going to have some sort of a small Thanksgiving celebration? We do here sometimes.. but my kids haven't grown up with it so they don't miss it if we skip it.. what they like most of all, anyway, is getting together with a big group of friends to cook and share.. regardless of the date. And of course we don't get the days off of school or work.. so this year we are having our Thanksgiving on December 13th..

Nar, Nothing I love more than an Un-hung Monday! Though Un-hung Saturdays and Sundays are right up there, too!

Jane, your graphics on the Roll call are truly amazing. I'm very impressed and I think everyone appreciates it soooo much. Thank you for taking the time and care to do that.. it means a lot.

Hugs to all you awesome people..to every one checking in or peeking in here today!

                        Happy Sober Monday,
Glad to be home. But worried of course. My sis stayed so I'm glad they have the company. Darn, wanted to post, but the kids are at my door. Lunch over!

Grateful to have been there for mom and dad. Also grateful for being sober throughout. I feel tired today, but I'll take that over being hungover.

Eloise, I am getting a Daschund!! Little Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll will be coming to my house on December 14th! I can hardly wait.

Life, I know exactly what you are talking about when it comes to being hung over and feeling bad about all the stupid shit you said the night before. Gross! I don't miss that At all, I love being Un Hung too.

SL, you sound great. Hey, all this pillow talk is making me sleepy or maybe its making me Hot, lol! I am going to ramp it up to flannel sheets this weekend because it is getting cold here. This winter so far has been very warm though. It is really weird.

Glad you had a good weekend JVo and glad you were sober to really be present.

                          Talk soon,

I'm so hot I sleep on a futon. Firm and comfy.

As a musician, I've slept on many floors over the years, so I am grateful for this simple luxury.
