Ladies on a Mission: The Official Site

Good for you, Star! Exericise is one of my most important tools, and the one that goes by the wayside the instant I start drinking! (well, I have run hungover, but that is pretty nasty!) Keep it up!

      good morning loamers

well here i am sitting in my daughters bed having a coffee and waiting for my toast. she rang me last night crying and vomiting and bless her had food poisoning so at 11pm she wanted her mum. i drove the 45 mins to get here and you dont believe how good that felt that i was totally here for her. she wanted me to sleep with her so we talked well into the small hours as she could not sleep. i feel so tired but so grateful that i could step up to the plate. so here i am having coffee and toast and chatting to her. i think last night was for me to prove to her i was always here and for her to see that i could be there for her.

i will read more when i get home later but told her i had to check in for the morning to say hi to you all. once breaky is over i will get ready and go and see my other daughter and take her to the drs then i think i will go home and crash for a few hours.

day 50 and last night proved to me that i never want to drink again, i always want to be here for my children now no matter want, they always want their mum no matter what.

      love you guys and thanks.

Thats a great thing to be able to do Ava. My girl is now well into her teenage years and its a relief to be able to drive out at any time in a crisis - or be there for her - without AL getting in the way.
I hope you get some well deserved rest now.

Wow, Ava, what a fabulous story! To think that just 51 days ago you might not have been able to do that or maybe your daughter wouldn't even have called you. You are giving yourself and your family the greatest gift by living the life you deserve. Congratulations on those 50 AF days. I am happy and proud to be doing this with a woman like you. xx- NS

Star, you're sounding more like the lovely lady in the nest that I met when I joined . Getting some time away from that poison can just work wonders on our bodies and brains.

Hi, TT and Mick. Nice to see you guys here! I'm one of those quiet lurkers on the daily thread and I always enjoy your posts (including the jokes!).

I hope everyone is staying strong over the weekend - there is NOTHING for us that would be better with AL!

                      Ava,

That was a beautiful story. Food poisoning is so horrible, and to have your mother come and take care of you is a real gift. You were a gift to her in your sobriety and motherly love which was clear and unfogged. I will think of that often in the coming weeks! Thank you for sharing.

Thanks guys your thoughts are so much appreciated and last night really made it clear to me just how much being sober and in the now is important for not only me but my children. But damn i am so tired but off to the drs with my other daughter for her anxiety issues and we really need to get those sorted out.

My daughter is fine, just very tired and drained, she was asleep when i left and will stay that way for most of the day. It was so funny last night when she said to her hubby that she wanted me to sleep with her. Here i was worried that i had lost her when she got married but nope. She did ban me from sleeping with her when i snored and talked in my sleep the last time and guess what that was due to drinking wine.

i will start on my replies to everyones post later when i have had a nana nap and gotten rid of the ant infestation that has arrived in my house. It never ends!

To my dear JVO so proud of you for your 7 days and the way you got straight back on the wagon. Keep ploughing along and due to your strength and wisdom you have helped me achieve my 50 days for always being here for me as you all have.

Ava, well done Girl on those 50 days.. I'm following that path you are steadily walking!
So glad your daughter is better.. it's awful to see your child sick but amazing to be able to really help her.
You must have sent those ants over here... I've been finding a couple around the place.. an we know there are never just ' a couple' of ants. These ones seem to be coming from the roof??

                            Hi all Loamers!!
