I would like to meet all of you NOW, after having gotten to know you here! If you had met me in person first, I would have given you the impression that my sh*t is totally together, that I'm large and in charge, and have no worries... I'm trying to take the lessons I've learned here about the deep connections that can be made when we allow ourselves to be truly seen into my real life but for me, that is a tough one. I'm just so used to putting up this unperturbable facade. But now I'm understanding how much of a barrier to love, friendship, and connection that really is. If I met you guys now, there would be no point in even trying to put on that heavy, uncomfortable armor :l.

Daisy, it is so good to see you! People who post regularly on this thread are having some really good success (just look at Giraffe and HR at the ~ 3 month mark!!).
    Coincidence??? I THINK NOT :H!
I hope you really join in and get into the spirit of the mission - it is such a good one.

Oh, so now j-vo has a new BFF famous guy! You'd better not leave us, lady, and start hanging out with the movers and shakers :H. What a great experience you had to add to your relaxing, fully AF vacation. The cold weather you're anticipating (and Miley, too) is already here. You'll probably get to miss another day of school - they're all closed around here again.

You're such a cutie, Ava - nice photo! But you don't look like someone who would ever yell so you must be exaggerating about that .

STAR, WHERE ARE YOU??? Please check in and if it is day 1 well, look who is here ready to do it with you: DAISY!

    xx, NS

PS to Pav: Looks like your quoter button is working!

NS, I totally agree, the connection we have here is amazing. It has helped me stay AL free so many times and all of you ladies have become part of my life. It is so wierd because we 'only' talk on the net. Who would have thought this could happen? We are really lucky.

Pav, us hipsters at a hip cafe! Oh yeah! I am having a skinny peppermint mocha is anyone is asking.
      We would talk non stop.

-17C here today. Ava, I agree, the cold is easier to take than 41C for sure. Beautiful pic. by the way. Your daughter's boyfriend is cute too he kind of reminds me of my son.

Daisy, stick with us and keep posting. This thread has really helped me for sure. I have only drank 2X since Nov 1, 2013. Alot of that is thanks to this thread.
I will have 30 days on the 30th, which is nice.

J-Vo, glad you are back safe and sound.

      Talk to you soon ladies.

Daisy :l Welcome back. We have missed you something awful! Hop up in the saddle with us and hang on tight, Love. We are all headed for greener pastures and we need you along with us. It's never too late to become who you could have been (I love that1)

Here I am and proudly on day 12!

I apologize for being AWOL, but I kept myself so busy over the weekend, I didn't even have time to sit down at the computer. I got involved with some extra projects around my house, which really needed to be done, I spent some time at the gym (actually exercising!) this is unbelievable for me, as I have always felt that I was allergic to any type of physical activity that wasn't related to lifting a bottle to my lips...but I am loving it. So many of you have recommended exercise for lifting depression, but I never believed it until now. I got off my antidepressants a week or so back and I am feeling fine just using the exercise.
I also spent a lot of time in the kitchen making some great healthy food for myself and my girls and I spent the afternoon with my youngest dtr yesterday afternoon at the mall :H
She wanted to get another piercing in her ear and talked my into doing the same :H:H cute!!! We held hands while the lady pulled the trigger, and we didn't even cry! Hurts today though!
So enough about me, other than to let you all know how much I appreciate all of you and how proud I am of you racking up the days, weeks, and months. This is a great thread and I am so happy...just so happy!!!

It's okay, N.S. And guess what! I have also been off sugar for the whole 12 days. Think I'll pop over to the sugar free roll call and give 'em a run fer their money! :H

Way to go STAR! Glad you are feeling so good.
You and NS are so cute, I thought the writing was going to get bigger and BIGGER!!

Exercise is great isn't it? Glad you are doing that. It makes a huge difference to me. I love it.
Walked to work today and am going for a walk now. Will walk home after work so I should log about 100 mins today. Not too bad for a Monday!

                Talk to you later,

                  Thanks, Nar

Yes, I have been spending about 1.5 hours in the gym on most days. I walk on the treadmill (16 minute mile) then ride the bike for 30 mins, then the rowing machine for 30 mins. I love it. At this point, those are the only contraptions I can figure out how to work, but as soon as I learn how to maneuver the elliptical, I will use that one. I haven't done any resistance training yet, but will add that soon, I think.

And N.S. the only "roll" I allow myself these days is the roll call! This lady is avoiding all those wicked kind of carbs these days and it really does make a difference in my cravings. I know a lot of folks use sugar to ward off cravings, but it seems to do the opposite for me. I guess whatever works for the individual is the best thing to do. Have a great afternoon, gals!

There is a different way out for everyone, isn't there, Star? I chose to eat some food I wouldn't normally eat this weekend, and man, am I ever paying the price today! It is just a whole lot better if I never give my lizard brain any treats because it is such a greedy little thing -- it wants more and more and more of whatever gave it such a dang thrill! I'm hoping I won't get that "taste" for a drink around 4 pm or so today but I'm aware that I might given how I'm feeling about food right now. So, if you guys think I've been too talkative already today, LOOK OUT :H!

You could teach all of us North Americans about Ireland like Available teaches us about Australia . Plus, you're ahead of me in this AF living business! We need to keep talking up how great this is! xx, NS

All I can tell you about my part of Ireland is that it's very wet at the moment!:H- still a few dark winter days to go yet. There are some signs that Spring is just around the corner though- my daffodil bulbs are starting to rear their heads

Only just ahead of you NS! but feel like I'm following your lead. Sometimes I find it hard to talk up how great it is to be AF- still feel like I have a way to go on my journey, but I do know for sure that if I hadn't of stopped last year, my life would be a hell of a lot worse now- does that make sense? The spiral I was in was only getting worse and putting my life at risk.
