OK - home!
j-vo, I love wild mushrooms too - used to get at farmers markets, but the girls don't eat them so I have given up - I should try again...
Ava - thinking of on line shopping was enough, but going into a store - uh, nope - not going to happen - I think I am a bit prudish:H
LC - I also have to keep my mind in the here and now, there was a thread that went a bit into the future, and I just can't do it with my abstinence. It scares me to think of a year from now, or ever....I like what you wrote - it is hard for me, I am a planner and a list maker, so to not be organised around this is scary - but just taking things as they come is the only way I can hang on.
hope all are good and feeling ready to catch up to Ava and Pav!“The only courage you will ever need is the courage to live the life you want"

Hi, Everyone!
Thanks for the well wishes, and I love that picture of us doing my favorite thing - hiking with the ladies!
I had an exceedingly LONG day at work (12.5 hours) and came home to an argument with my son and DH about son's homework. FFS - can't DH figure it out without me! GRRRR.
Good thing I had stopped by the store for my favorite ice cream - an indulgent treat for myself on day 100.
For now I am pooped. There are so many things here I want to comment on - the buzzing suitcase, the batteries dying, the mushrooms - so much to think about! But I can hardly keep my eyes open and I have to make the rounds to the threads where people congratulated me (my public awaits!) I have to go visit Ava on the 100 day thread, too. Whoot.
I also have to say, LC - yes, living in the present is so important. I REALLY want to learn how to meditate. Thanks for the inspiration.
I don't have a long thank you in me now or a long post to celebrate. Please know that I am eternally grateful to all of you here - you have kept me honest, answered my questions, heard me rant and kept me moving forward. Ava, I am so proud to have done this with you!
Sleep for now, and maybe a longer post this weekend.
xo

Marylou, congrats on your 50 today!!!!
LifeChange, congrats on your 7!!!
Your girls are rocking and we all benefit here from the positive posts you girls bring to the loamers. Thank you so much!
Lunch break at work. It's really crappy outside and we're suppose to get more snow, down to 5 tonight, but back up to 58 by Friday! Getting a taste of spring here and there and boy does that help with my mood. This is state testing time of the year. 8h grade gets really killed with almost every test. Some grades get one or two, but we have to take them all. So it's a lot of preparation for these upcoming tests. Not my favorite time of the year. So on my way to work t his morning, I decided I'm going to start each class, everyday with the song "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. It's such a great and well...happy song! So far the kids have loved it. I think I might do this until after testing is over. Plus they get a drop of Passion flower and olive oil on their little dry hands while we listen. Again, they love that stuff. Makes them feel special - just these little things!!!! These are the simple things in life that kids can appreciate, and the things that we need to remember in life that make us happy. A happy song, a nice lotion, possibly a manicure, a smile. That's what's important. Little happy exchanges/connections with people make me feel awesome. Have a great day!Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.

Hi Giraffe!! Hi LB!!
J-vo, you sound like such a special 8th grade teacher-- what lucky kids you have. My Aunt Dinah was like that, too, I remember, and I was always envious of those in her class. I think the little things have an impact, not only for the testing, but for their lifetimes. I know my girls, 3rd and 6th grade remember all the details. "Remember when....". Where are you living that you're still expecting snow?
I am very happy to be on day 7 today! And 3pm came and went without notice. I will wake up a bit earlier tomorrow to make sure I have time to state my goal for the day before I run off to work. It just keeps me grounded.
I forgot to say that I didn't start my better nutrition/exercise on Monday. I had to research a bit more exactly what I want to do! Yeah, right!
Did anyone else start? I have the day off on Friday so I will begin then. Really!
Will check in later to see how you're all doing. :sun:

CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF YOU!
I just listened to an interesting podcast about sugar/carb craving/addiction. The woman turns out to be a former alcoholic who now struggles with food. Her description of how she feels is really interesting. They talk about the relationships among different types of addiction.

That scared me!!!
I couldn't sign in for a bit and thought, AHHHH! Then I thought, "maybe I'm being booted out because of the solitaire talk!"--
Thanks for the pod cast, NS-- am off to check it out right now.
A friend of mine introduced me to Pema Chodrin recently-- I think she's quite popular in the States..? Anyway, there is a site that sends a short weekly "teaching" and the one from this week really hit home with me. She is quoting a Buddhist master (8th century) called Shantideva with regards to peace..
----- “If these long-lived, ancient, aggressive patterns of mine that are the wellspring only of unceasing woe, that lead to my own suffering as well as the suffering of others, if these patterns still find their lodging safe within my heart, how can joy and peace in this world ever be found?”
Shantideva is saying that as long as we justify our own hard-heartedness and our own self-righteousness, joy and peace will always elude us. We point our fingers at the wrongdoers, but we ourselves are mirror images; everyone is outraged at everyone else’s wrongness. ------
I find I am really a blamer and a finger pointer. Not to everyone, of course, but probably mostly to those who are mirroring me. Like the son of my BF, perhaps? and my BF. And his ex wife, for that matter. and my ex husband!! Wait a minute!!.. I don't even really know where to start in looking at myself. How to balance figuring these things out and staying in the moment? Or if we stay in the moment will these things work themselves out or at least become more clear?

Loamers just a quick hello as i am running late again, it is getting dark in the mornings and i so dont want to get out of bed though it is still warm.
LC congrats on your 7 days and glad the 3pm cravings are gone, they were a killer for me and so many times i would think, bugger it i am going to get a wine but then that would mean me getting back in the car and i just could not be bothered after driving for an hour to get home.
Mary 50 days woo hoo and half way to that 100, it gets easier doesnt it but some days the thoughts still float in but a lot rarer than the early days and who wants to go back to them.
Thursday here and a busy day at work. Has anyone seen a plane by any chance? I cant believe they have not found that damn plane. Where is that black box?
