Ladies on a Mission: The Official Site

    Hi, Everyone:

Time for a quick check in after a long day at work and a fun dinner with friends. NO alcohol. One longing look at some shared special beer from Belgium, but I ate two cookies instead. Gratitude. Roxy, I love the way you put that CBT.

SL - Sorry about your anni. My sister who is two years separated and VERY happily on with her life still gets wistful at her anniversary. I can imagine it is a weird time. I hope your weather is better and that you and your daughters are having a nice, relaxing time.

Sorry to the pain group. Although yours sounds worse than mine, I have chronic knee pain - tough for a hiker, but not shot worthy yet. I'm supposed to stay away from hills but that's not happening. Plenty of ice and ibuprofen when necessary. Anyone have experience with pattelo-femural syndrome? Jane - hope that thumb is ok...

J-Vo and NS, thanks for the resources. I haven't had time to check them out but I'll try this weekend.

Good to see you popping in, Molly! I stalk you as your posts are always spot on. I also thoroughly enjoy the Army sense of humor.

Good night everyone else. Sorry I can't respond to everyone - I'm pooped.

Goodnight everyone it's way past my bedtime. No mod thoughts here right now. I think i nipped it in the bud. I don't feel the urge to try and drink when I am camping like I felt before. It really helped to post my feelings here and I have been readingg and listening to all the podcasts etc.
      Thank you everyone.

      Goodnight.

G good to sed you. Hope you are doing ok.
J-vo I have been turning your post over in my mind. Where you were saying that sometimes it has to be all about us. You are 100% right. That IS the reason we are here. To work these things out.
Jane I'm laughing, but feeling sorry you got hurt at the same time.

            J-vo....

El, I fell. Last week. Don't think you saw the post about five or six pages back. But I'm crawling back out of the hole. One day at a time.

You are right, I did not see that. I am sorry, I was in my own world the last two weeks with work.

I hope you are not being too hard on yourself? You are getting back on that wagon and just moving on. We all just live and learn... frustrating though, for sure.

We have decided to move into my art studio. I am almost afraid to say it out loud. I have wanted to do this for so long, it just makes sense. There is sssoooooo much space, light and quiet! Tonight is our 4th night sleeping here. I feel like I have hardly slept since moving to the Netherlands, really I do.

I wanted to drink so many times yesterday. We rented a machine to clean the floors.
I could have drank 10 bottles of wine last night, but am I ever glad I didn't do it.

Very tired, no worn out is a better description. I am here reading every day though, and reading Carr's book at night so I do not 'forget' why it is important this stays fresh in my mind. It is very important. I even forced myself to hit the gym this morning. I need that to feel balanced in my mind, it worked. Ah, ladies!! Let me get back to moving furniture and unpacking.

                Hi Loamers :l

Sorry I have been "out of pocket". Still doing well here, I went out of town over the weekend and took an extra day just to recuperate. I have not had time to read back over posts, sorry!

I am feeling much better these days and am trying to make some very positive changes and taking much better care of myself.

I made the decision, last week, to change positions at my workplace. I will still work for the same agency, just a different supervisor and different group of folks. I hope this will be much less stress for me. I will be very busy for a bit, just getting used to the new routine and learning the ropes. I will check in as much as I am able.

Enough about me! I want each of you to know how proud I am of you and how much I appreciate all of the support you give me and one another. I will read back as soon as I get a chance and catch up on everyone.

                Stay strong everyone :l

                  Morning Girls,
I've been rereading through my journal and have been coming across some great things I reposted. I don't want to inundate you with reposting stuff, so maybe I'll just give the number of the post and if you want, you can read it. This one is from About Time To Page 20 and post #193 in "Just Starting Out for the Thousandth Time" in Just Starting Out. She writes at her three year anniversary. Excellent.

SL, I'm glad you pinpointed where the bad feeling was coming from and glad for your relief. Hope you have great beach weather today!

Jane, your story of falling made me belly laugh. I fell in the beginning of summer on a trail and thought initially I'd broken my leg (yes, big baby I am) but only a scrape to the knee. We should leave the bike riding up to the kids who do it best!

                  Pav, how's work going?

Nar, read that post from About Time To...I think you'll get a lot out of it.

G-man, hi! and I didn't get to see the you tube video. It wouldn't play Hope you're well.

LB, I posted about writing out the stuff that's going on in our heads on this thread, post #5917. We need to get out of our heads!!!!!!! It's a scary place to be sometimes. For me at least.

El, glad you're moved into your art studio. Lots of great links on here in the last 10 pages or so. When you have a chance, read some of those before bedtime. Glad you're sleeping better!

Less than three weeks left of summer. I start back on the 22nd. Yesterday I got a lot accomplished. Cleaning out a bedroom. Amazing the crap we can accumulate. Today, gonna focus on some prep for school. Have a great day.

                    x-post Star,
Glad you're well! And good luck with your new position. That kind of thing always brings stress with it, so make sure you breathe, take breaks when needed, and take care of yourself.

                      Morning everyone!
I will check that out J. Thanks
Jane, be careful on that bike girl!

Star, I am sure this is going to be a lot better for you. The old job was way too stressful. You go Star!

Hello G! Hope you are rockin and Rollin as usual

El, so glad you didn't drink.

We are just packing up to go camping. It is so nice out this am. I am sitting in the sun having a coffee and chatting to you ladies and G.
                      No thoughts of AL here.

Funny, I put on ear rings this morning to go camping. I always leave my earrings at home when camping because I don't want to lose them. Usually I am going into the trailer after a few drinks, ok a lot of drinks, and I don't always remember where stuff is or what I did the night before. This time I won't have that problem. How good is that?
I look forward to waking up and being Un hungover. Yes!!

                      Talk to you soon ladies.

I'm tech challenged. I know NS and Pav - you know how to just create a link to a post without posting the whole thing. Can you explain how to do that so if someone wants to read the post that I'm referring to, they don't have to go and find it, they can just click the link? I know how to copy and paste links from sites, just not from individual posts. Thx.

                            Hi,

If you want to get the url from a post, hit reply, as if you were going to reply to the post. You will see the coding for the link in the text; e.g.: [XXXurl=http://dawnfarm.org/]Dawn Farm - compassionate, affordable care for addictions [/urXXXl] . (I added XXX so that the hyperlink would not appear here. Just copy and paste it exactly as it appears in the person's post - not with added X's! You can preview your post to make sure it works.

                            Good luck!

I misunderstood your question. To bring one post over to another thread, quote that post in the thread you are in as if you were going to reply (but don't actually complete that action). Copy the text that appears in the quoted reply. To move it to another thread, hit reply in that thread, and paste the "raw" text from the first thread. It will appear as a quote in the new thread.

                              Is that what you meant??

Hi - having some teary thoughts of a beautiful day 19 years ago on my parents village/back garden...it was a lovely day, but in hindsight things were not right even then. Now I have chance to make everything better so will allow a little sadness today!
Beach day today and look into car rental for some other day trips - causes a little anxiety, but will stay strong.
Hotel luau tonight - lots of the reviews were regarding poor ability to use drink tickets! Choosing to focus on fact that won't bother me instead of fact that I get drink tickets!!:H all in the attitude!!
                                Loving the Loamers!
