Well, let's keep posting and it won't .

I wonder what will happen with the migration to the new site tomorrow. I've been involved in similar moves at work --- expect the unexpected! I hope everyone already has an alternative support plan in place, anyway, because the unavailability of this site at a particular time is always a possibility.

We watched the first installment of The Roosevelts on PBS tonight - it is really good!

Threads ebb and flow naturally but I would be sad to see this one fade away because it has been a really good one for several people to get this job done. I hope anyone who is determined to get AL out for good feels free to join in.

        Enjoy the MAE!
:H I've had to check out the MAE reference NS but now I know and the same to you.

Late congratulations on your 250 days Jane and well done on your dinner out Nar. It's good to see how a positive thread impacts on your every day choices

            Hi, Everyone!

Thanks for asking, SL and Nar - my weekend was FABULOUS, of course. I was so worried about it being awkward and weird, but they are truly my best friends in the world, and it worked out fine. I stayed up late laughing hard with everyone else, but didn't wake up with a hangover! We hiked up 2,500 feet to the top of a 9,000 foot peak - I felt great and was excited to do it after not drinking. Thanks for all of your support before I went.

J-Vo - Best of luck to you wherever you roam. You were the first person who invited me to the gloamers, and I am SO glad you did. I hope you find what you need and want, and that part of what you need and want you will continue to find here.

I'll keep posting here as long as you ladies and gents are here.

I am exhausted after the busy weekend - I'll check in tomorrow.

            xo

Another supper out tonight and another tough one. I did not drink AL but i have to keep working at staying sober. It feels like the longer I have been sober I start to forget how crappy it is for me when I drink.

Anyway, goodnight. I will check in tomorrow.

Nar, I know exactly what you are saying. I'm also petrified of forgetting how bad it really was for me. I still catch myself thinking "fondly" of how great it was to share drinks blah blah blah.
And almost like childbirth, it seems that one forgets the pain and remembers the good bits.

I've made a list of what AL does to me which I keep on my phone so it's always easily accessible. I read that when I need to. I also have a list of the many good things which have resulted from not drinking.

MMMhh, that' talking a lot for me.

Hope you all have a good week - it's Monday morning here, nothing much good about that.

I was thinking something similar this morning Nar- 'you are not cured, so don't forget what we are doing here Milly!!'

Hey, everyone sounding good! Had a bit of trouble getting on here over the weekend but I know that is to be expected.
Very busy weekend. Outdoor concert on Saturday night....home early as we were soooooo cold. Big family dinner yesterday then out to a hotel last night to meet up with my aunt and uncle who are heading back home to New York this morning. Nice but busy and all AF! That is always the icing on the cake.
