Morning Mick - have a good day despite the awful weather. Its early evening here folks and this will just be a quick post. I spent some time on yesterday's thread today. Weather here is abysmal - really wet - typical NZ so called summer (don't worry the real thing comes in Feb and March when the kids return to school).
Sam - you sound chirpy and busy.
Pauly - are you still post Xmas bluesy? Soon it will be post New Year's and you don't want to have a double dose of the dumps so close together.
SF - saw your interesting posts.
Lav - all well despite the comings and goings?
Yah - what are these resolutions you have lined up? No doubt folks here know that I am not the type who makes New Year's resolutions - I make them resolutions at any time. Very best one was on 10 Oct 2012 - and we know what that was!
Hi there Narilly - your cooking sounds yummy. I resisted baking this weekend as I have other chores to do - yes, we did a super-clean of the bathroom - funny how dirt just keeps on coming out of unknown places. Not funny.
And hello to all others - Det, - others too.
Watching a 70s TV series in my down time - 'The Lotus Eaters' - one of the stars Ian Hendry was a brilliant actor and in the series he plays a recovering alcoholic. Its set in Crete. The irony is that Hendry was himself an alkie at the time (what we now call 'high functioning'). He died aged 53 from an alcoholic related illness. I think his wife died from the booze as well. Yes, it sucks (not the series :H the addiction).
Anyway thats not going to happen to you guys because you are taking good care of yourselves, you have kicked the booze out the window (in the episode I watched last night Hendry tosses the bottle of brandy into the sea - its also a libation for 'calm waters' ahead) and we have each other.
    Have a great day

      Hi ya TT, Mick, everyone,
Our weather sucks too. -18c out. It is so cold! Aaargh! I mostly stayed inside today. I am AF and really plan to stay this way. I was letting AL thoughts come back into my brain but after coming here and reading about relapse etc. I have more resolve not to drink.
Thanks NS and all of you who pointed me in the right direction.
As Byrdie said "Things are never better with alcohol" anyway, she said something to that effect!
You all know what I'm saying!
      Have a great AF day!

        Good morning Abbers,

The dark & gloomy rain has moved in today after an almost spring-like day yesterday, oh well!
Still better than a ton of snow & ice, right narilly & PQ? :H

Hope you are safe on the roads today Mick

I think I know the post SF was referring to yesterday. If I am correct it was written by someone who seems to enjoy writing 'between the lines'. All of her posts have been like that, basically non-committal to either abstinence or moderation. I find that annoying & likely confusing to the newest MWO members. Somehow the idea of supporting one another by sharing ideas & experiences doesn't impress her, oh well.

I don't have any specific resolutions for 2014. I just want to be as happy & healthy as possible! For me that means remaining AF & smoke free, eating well, exercising (maybe a little more) & working on my spiritual growth

Wishing everyone a wonderful AF Sunday!

        Lav

I am not making specific resolutions, TT; although the moon is new on this New Year's, which makes it a good time to make resolutions for a change. I do want to make an effort to keep my house cleaner and more organized than I have in the past, to be more positive, be more spiritual, and live more healthily. I would like to think of it more of making some lifestyle changes as opposed to hard and fast dos and don'ts.

Well, thus far, football has been disappointing today, so I'm off to do some cooking and cleaning, which will hopefully be a little more uplifting.

            :l
