Hiya Sam..how are you?glad theres no more inner debate ..as for the drinking thoughts ..it really just comes down to how you deal with them...the old adage about drink ..a good slave but a lousy master sure rings true!!

Morning bear ...hows you doing?hey no probs with what you are doing ..hope it goes well for you.How did the cat get on at the vets yesterday?Good news?As for the flooding ..well if we flood theres serious probs..I live at the top of a hill!!have a great day.

Yes you are right..people on her do write about their own experiences and methods..and thats really what its all about ..what works for you ..tailoring bits of one plan and another to meet your individual needs ..very much like role modelling in life look at lots, but take the best out of each.Does take time but the key is nt to quit quitting. So whats going down in the home of country music today?anything? are you doing anything with the weekend?

right peeps off we go ..take care and have a good one,

What! With all the stress of Christmas and the new year I'm glad it's over and I am really looking forward to going back to unemployment

I got an urgent letter from the Inland Revenue today but I threw it in the bin without opening it.

"So I guess your wife still leaves the house without letting you know then?" I asked my mate Dave.

    "Goes without saying." He replied.

Don't you just hate it when you can't get it in? It's the same size as the hole but every time it's difficult. You try forcing it harder, flipping it over and looking at it real close before it finally goes in with ease... F.cking USB sticks!

My wife and her twin sister were sitting on the sofa when they asked me to decide which was the sexiest.

    "Definitely the sofa," I said.

I bumped into my mate and his young daughter earlier:

"And what do you do in your spare time?" I asked her.

    "I play othello" she replied.

"Is that the game with black and white counters?" I said.

"No, you tother" she replied, "it'th a thtringed inthrument."

Nite nite everyone. Sorry no proper post but I have been busy as in being in the garden and enjoying a really delicious apple pie my daughter made from scratch. She's fast turning out to be better at baking than me.
Have a good day folks and I hope you stay toasty warm.

Hey Mick, morning - pussy cat is absolutely fine, gut inflammation - not the Big C I had feared, so steroids and usual diet for my little furry friend. Thanks for asking it means a lot. We're on a bit of a hill too here so feel lucky! My cold is in full effect here, popping along to rollerderby team party for a bit,I'm driving and giving someone a lift.

Interesting CBT session yesterday, focused on my thought records and issue with long term friend and facing fears of confronting the situation again as it has still got no resolution. It's all focused around my fear of not being good enough, abandonment and my homework is to call my friend and have the conversation/tell her how I feel.Scary s**t BUT as he said,I'm playing it constantly anyway, and it's keeping my 'I'm not good enough' fear alive as I'm never actually working through the situation - I'm imagining it going awfully,it may do,it may not,but either way I will cope with it. It's about facing my fears, and if just making the phonecall is the disastrous end of friendship call I feared - is there a friendship there anyway? Thinking of making the call today to get it over and done with. Not looking forward to it,and not entirely sure what I want to say/want to get out of it.

Thanks SF for the reflection yesterday,it was interesting and helpful to read- I have stages of feeling yes I need to quit forever and be free, and thoughts of I'm making this bigger than it needs to be.I know I'll come back to your post and re-read it several times.

      Happy sober Saturday everyone.

MAE Abbies. Feelings a little sleepless (obviously--it's still the wee hours here), so I thought I'd chime in early.

I think your CBT therapist is right, bear. Believe it or not, even if the outcome isn't what you want, you will be proud of yourself for standing up to your fears and you will have some resolution. I wish you the best today! I'm also glad that your kitty is okay.

Mick, enjoying the jokes lately (as always, really). I hope you have a great weekend and don't get snowed on on Sunday, so you can continue on with your mysterious business.

Missed a long post today TT (like I'm someone to talk, right), but I'm glad you got something accomplished in the garden. That's always gratifying. Apple pie is a great reward.

I am on some antibiotics as a result of a puncture wound that festered. What happened is a WHOLE other story. In fact, I'm on two different ones. So, my sleep and my digestive tract is screwed up; tomorrow I'm going to get some probiotics to take with them. Meanwhile, I've woken up twice tonight. Yuck.

Pauly, sorry about the drinking. I hope you hop back on the abs wagon quickly. Yep, the drink is a very temporary fix. A good tv show or book will do the trick for me now.

Hi, Mr. G! Nice to see you pop in.

Hi GG. How did I never know that you lived in Canada?

Hey to Lav, SF, Narilly, and Sam the man! Have a great Saturday.

As for me, I'll be catching up on paperwork and watching the NFL playoffs today and tomorrow. Geaux Saints! I know it's a long shot. Sorry, Lav.

          MAE ALL...

Mick...thanks for the coffee and the kick start. Had an absolutely Ace day yesterday, was totally selfish. Spent the day reading, playing video games and watching the Criminal Minds marathon....heaven. Currently it's -18 and there's a ton of snow out there. Hope I can get out of the parking lot to see my Dad today.

TT...sounds like you had a good day. You can't even see our raised garden plots as they're buried under snow.

Bear...glad kitty is ok. I hope you make that call today. Get it over and done with and then move on. We're here for you.

YahYah...hope the infection clears up soon. Hopefully the probiotics wills help sort out the sleep. Went through a couple of nights like that recently and it sucks. Enjoy your day and Geaux Saints!

Off to get my second cuppa and read Micks jokes. Have a great AF Saturday all and all to come....PPQP

            Good morning Abbers!

Colder this morning that it has been in 20 years - so says the weather folks!!!!!
I'm guzzling coffee & trying to work up the nerve to go check on my hens

Mick, I heard something on the news this morning about the rain & high winds in your area. Stay inside, warm & dry. Hope you do see some sunshine

Greetings TT & bear! Glad your kitty is going to be OK bear! Good luck in dealing with your friend. I have found it better to just say what needs to be said & not over worry the results. I've been going through this with YB for many, many years.

YahYah, sure hope you get some relief soon
Antibiotics can be rough on our systems. Do you really think the Saints have a chance today? Playing in frozen Philly is going to be a challenge for them :H :H

Hi there PQ! You seem to be feeling better

Greetings to everyone, sending wishes for a great AF Saturday for all!

Lav, I'm sure we're both shivering. Brrrr......Not as much as PPQP, though! Nice to see you, girl! I hope you get out to see your dad today.

I actually like the Eagles, and their quarterback, Nick Foles, has done a great job pulling them together, but no one can take the place of the Saint's in my heart. I loved them back in the late 70's early 80's when they were the Aint's and people wore brown paper bags on their heads to the games. I'm sure the Eagles are the favorites, but I can dream. If they got their heads in the right place and prepared themselves for the cold they will no doubt face, they might be able to pull it off. Finger crossed.

You are much loved & appreciated around here - hope you know that

YahYah, I truly am not a big football fan!
I used to enjoy watching high school & college football when the kids were in school - but only once in a while :H
It was 7 degrees here when I got up this morning. They are talking about freezing rain overnight & tomorrow morning. How can it rain anything when it's that cold? I just don't get it :H
I'm staying inside, right in front of the fire!!!

I just started a Happy 50th birthday thread in general for little beagle

Hey Mick, way to go friend!

Lav, Of all the precipitation, I wish there was no such thing as freezing rain. We're suppose to get that nonsense too.

Yah Yah, I loved it when they were the Ain'ts and the paper bags! No Tv so I listen on the radio.

I hope your cows and horses are okay, Sam. Freezing rain is truly bone-chilling. Brrrrr...... that is so sad about losing all the cows to a lightning storm many years ago.

Lav, freezing rain occurs when the atmosphere is warmer higher up, so the precipitation begins as rain. When there is a cold layer near the ground, it falls as rain, but freezes on contact. We are in for some here, as well.

I've been a football fan since my teens. I used to watch with my father, who explained the game to me, and it was a really big deal to have two games on a Sunday. We only had 6 TV channels then. :H Bart Starr was the quarterback for the Packers, I think, way back when. Yikes!

Anyway, at least Philly isn't beating the crap out of the Saints thus far. So I'm still hoping. If they lose, I'll be rooting for Philly or Green Bay.

                          Stay warm, all!
