morning all - whizzing in quickly - ready for first day back at work.It's a busy one but am pleased I have a job I enjoy and work with nice people.

Feeling good - re-injured knee at rollerderby training yesterday - phone call with friend now on tonight's list - hospital visit wiped out most of yesterday.Ice and ibuprofen are my new friends!

Hope your knee heals soon Bear. Sounds painful. I am whizzing in too here today but not on roller blades - busy writing at the moment.
Doesn't mean I don't love you all and I am sending positive sober thoughts. Tui bird in the garden making amazing sounds as the sun lowers in the sky - 9pm here but it won't be really dark until after 10pm.

mae all how are yiz? well weather over hasnt changed a bit ..still blowing a gale and raining ...Ive put a coupla complaints in but still nowt happened!! Was out yesterday..over at Blackpool and Fleetwood ..they have just spent a fortune on the sea defences over that way..and guess what ...erm what sea defences? oh you mean all these bits of concrete strewn all over the place?..Tide was low when we got there. so theyre you go..just some more info to chuck into the guessing pot!

Tea and coffee on the go as we speak..says a sylph like moi :H..lost 10 lbs since I came back off holiday...completely knackered otherwise ..but not overweight (ish) :H

Right on with the show...still no reply about bonsai trees ...not even from lurkers?..oh yeh ..little tip for those into gardening ...if you are like me and have a pile of seeds in packets all over the show..put them into plastic bags ..still in the packets obviously! in sowing month order ..then just pick a month out as it comes up

Morning bear ..you ok ? sounds a bit sore that...take it easy..Im a great one for aah it will be ok ..work through it ..and it ends up twice as bad.

hiya tt...wowee that was some post yesterday..definitely on a roll!!!hmm think that guidelne about drug testing before food help is a bit ???First point...what is a drug? alcohol ,coffee whatever . secondly what about prescribed drug addictions? and thirdly ..what are you going to do with those that you dont feed?ok then Ill go to jail ..at least I will get fed!!!certainly a well thought out strategy!!
As for being bored ,fed up with not drinking ..yes I used to look at the posts and think ..yeh its ok for them with their x years al free..not once did it click in my tiny brain that they werent born like that!!!then the penny dropped one day and that was it ..the start.

Mick, I just saw footage on the news of cliffs crumbling & falling into the ocean somewhere in England - didn't hear where. Apparently the drenching rains have been a real problem

Mae everybody,hubs went to court and told them he didnt have a lawyer so he goes back in march,luckily his boss is gonna help him with a lawyer,im really angry at myself for allowing myself to keep finding excuses to drink,sometimes id drink without an excuse,why cant it just click for me that drinking only makes me sick?how dissapointed i am

I am just not built for 10 degrees....Friday should be back to 55 thank God. Kids are off school....kids here just do not have the outerwear needed for this type of weather.

Pauly....I always joked that I didn't have the desire to quit drinking....but, I desired to have the desire. When you tell yourself the truth about alcohol it starts to click. I mean really tell yourself the truth. All the illusions I fashioned around it and society putting a stamp of approval on those illusions was hard to dismantle. Rather I had to tell myself the truth about how al affected me....and then it seemed a bit alarming the amount of lies I had been telling myself. Then you see the lies society has been putting out. I mean do you really believe the girl in the al ad drinks large quanities and still looks like that

Off to get under the electric blanket....if it were up to me...I would just stay there until Friday

First day back to work done and dusted. Actually it just flew by. The +5 didn't hurt either.

Bear...thanks for the kickoff and sorry to hear about your knee. Hope you made your friend phone call so you can be done with it. Whatever the outcome it's gotta be better than stressing about it.

TT...I could feel those positive sober thoughts today. Even after 16 months I can still have those stinking drinking thoughts. Think it was just a matter of I'm done. Done xmas, done being sick, done wedding, done new years, done birthday now where's my reward. Then I remember it's only Alkies that think life owes them a reward. :H

Mick...naw you didn't miss anything since I ate all the cupcakes, except I caught up with Lav on the birthday candle count. Well, chucking that info into the guessing pot has really got me thinking now. Perhaps our goal for 2014 is to figure out where Mick goes on Sundays. We haven't heard any suggestions lately so watch out you started it.

Lav...most people get back to their routines after the holidays...oh wait, that's exactly what you're doing. I'd love to see an example of your embroidering.

Narilly...I keep telling myself "at least I don't live in Toronto" :H It was actually a decent day out there today. Colder tomorrow but will still feel like a heat wave. Not sure where in the city you are but I hope you don't have those 5 foot snow banks. The're deadly when it's slush time. Still walking to work? Stay safe.

Pauly...hubs has got to deal with his own consequences as we deal with ours. I found sometimes getting angry with myself would help motivate me to the next step. You can use your disappointment to get to the next level. Just don't quit quitting and stay close.

So sorry for all suffering with extreme weather, I am so glad it is not so cold here, but it certainly is cold for Ca, and the house are not built for it! I am more worried about the drought - the number of dead lawns is incredible, we are desperate for rain. They taunted us with a possibility this week now that has been put off to next week. The ski resorts are having a terrible time, and the reservoirs are so low...
Sorry that you have so many worries just now Pauly, and they keep letting things get the better of you...
TT - love the idea of a tui bird singing to you - will have to go look it up.
Mick, love the reminders when I need them - kinda hoping it won't be for a very long time...

Brr TT - sadly as we have had no rain for so long, our air quality is so terrible, we have not been able to have fires since way before Christmas - I love a warming fire in my fireplace - Mick, yer lum will na reek lang here! Peopel are being fined - even on Christmas day! So enjoy your fire :l

-8 here in Ohio..wind chill will be -20 to -35 tonight.....bbbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
we are all piles up on the couches with blankets...hate to turn the heat up....the room gets cold when we let dogs in ...let dogs out....at least they don't stay out very long....
