MAE ? quick start before I get back into work. I won?t ask about the weather ? well I will ? as its so much in the news at the moment. Still raining heaps here and yes, I have the fire blazing. Apparently the good weather is on its way ? coming over from Australia. I think its coming via the Antarctic.:H

Lav- hope the chooks (well you too my dear!) are safe ? animals (and little kids) are always a worry. My anti-electric blanket stance is primarily because faulty ones ? or ones sometimes left on ? can lead to fires.

Sam ? isn?t that early in the season for a calf to be born? Maybe I don?t know what I am talking about? Anyway you and the animals and the humans take care. You mentioned facing reality when sober ? yes, I am with you on that one ? even if it can be tough dealing with all that reality sometimes.

Speaking of tough realities ? Bear ? how did the phone-call go? Hope your Puss is well ? and you too. Well done on the sober days that must be adding up.

Mick- how did the charity shop bimble go? Any gems? Does Julie share this passion or are you solo on this one?

PPQP ? are you over your ?what?s next? or ?drink me please? feelings? I guess they never go completely go away but they do get much much less. I still continue to worry that I might have a craving or a mad moment where I drink ? last wek I had one of those drinking dreams ? the ones when you wake up and think, ?WTF ? why did I do that?? I find my vulnerability is when I have really unusual daily patterns ? or when I am very very bored (and usually accompanied with feeling very flat/depressed in a flat not a deep despair way if you know what I mean). I have to watch those feelings of ?is this all there is? or getting overwhelmed with mortality/existence. Fortunately having to think about what to cook for dinner usually grounds me!
Sorry PPQP ? that was about me and not you ? but its an indication of how we reflect off each other.

The latter gem sort of came from SF. Still PPQP, lots of hugs and positive Southern Pole ice-bergs to you!!!:h (and everyone else)

Some of us here on this thread are among the more mature age group. :cheering
I heard this radio interview yesterday and I thought it made sense. Its about extreme ageing ? ie the very senior years- living a long life in general. That's what most of us here want to do. Here goes:

Radio New Zealand : National : Summer Noelle : 07 Jan 2014 : Patricia Edgar - In Praise of Ageing

More rain coming down ? sounds very hypnotic. I will tell this to my partner as he leaves for work (he takes public transport and will get very wet).

Have a good Wednesday everyone else - Narilly, SL, Det, Pauly, Yah, Sunshine, and all others here and to come.
    Stay sober through the storms!!!!

Love my electric blanket....seemed to be hot topic yesterday. I don't have the inclination to worry about every little thing that may kill me. I got rid of the one that was causing misery daily.

I remember hearing a quote once, "won't all those super healthy people be pissed off when they find out they are dying of nothing"

    Warms up tomorrow...yippee!

Hey there - friend didn't answer mobile, didn't leave message as not sure voicemail works and didn't want to be left hanging. I may text today asking if she is free to talk this week. It's unusual for me to call so she knows something is 'up'.Still feel nervous but at least started ball rolling and planned what to say.

Other than that puss is fine -- had irritated gut and since had new steroid tablets seems a lot better.Knee also fine - 3 weeks off skates and mini squats daily. Phew - gonna do bootcamp after this session finishes, friend may do it again with me.
Happy being sober - whizzing in before work got first one to one with my challenging person - thinking positive and I'm just keeping on with it.Happy Wednesday to you all.

          Just bloody typical,

I've been waiting for public transport in Tewkesbury for over an hour, then three canoes come along at once.

My pet owl will soon turn 180.

He's not old, he just has a bad neck.

I can't believe people used to think the Earth was flat.

Seems strange to me that one in five adults are smokers, and half of the population have a household pet.

And none of them have ever sold a fucking thing on eBay.

People often look at me like I'm mental.

They just doesn't understand that I enjoy punching ghosts.

A gorgeous blonde found an old lamp and stroked it gently.

"I wonder if a genie will come," she mused.

From inside the lamp, she heard, "Yes, if you rub a bit faster."

I've decided my wife is to shallow for me.
I mean I can see her toes sticking through the dirt.
          Got to dig deeper.

It must be very frustrating being a police officer in the U.S.

Especially when you have to arrest a woman,

and tell her, "You have the right to remain silent..."

Last year, T-Mobile's customer service department had the least complaints of all the major phone companies.

Probably because nobody's ever got enough signal to ring them.

I got him a blow up leg for Christmas.

"Mum, can I have an ice-cream?"

          "Aren't you forgetting something?"

"Oh yeah. I'll have sprinkles too."

They say the streets of London are paved with gold.

That'd explain my fucking Council Tax bill anyway.

I went out with this new chavvy girlfriend and she had a massive love bite on her neck.

I said: "Where did you get that? It looks well chewed."

She said: "I bought it in the pharmacy."

I said: "No, the love bite. Not the condom."

Just saw this advert on the sky news website

Good morning Abbers & Happy Hump day!

Still in the single digits here but a weather warm up has been promised - yay!
Dealing with this crazy cold weather is exhausting, honestly. The chickens have held up very well so far. I hope I can actually let them out into their yard today (they are getting a little stinky being cooped up for a few days :H)

TT, I hope you get a break from the rain soon.
Thanks for the link, I'll check that out this afternoon

bear, hope you have a great day!

SF, I really don't worry about every little thing that could kill us either. But I do pay attention family genetics & try to make an effort to steer away from known aggravators. Autoimmune disorders are becoming more & more common in my clan

            Greetings Mick!
Don't know how close you are to the coast line but I'd advise no cliff walking right now!
It's frightening to see big chunks of land just fall like that!!
I see one of our military helicopters went down there yesterday killing all four onboard, sad.

Well, I need to get in gear & get some stuff done then off to Curves. The sun is finally making an appearance - nice

Have a great AF Wednesday everyone!

              MAE ALL....

TT...thanks for kicking us off and yes I'm over the "drink me please" feeling. Like Mick says it doesn't matter how long we're AF they can still happen. We've just learned how to deal with them. I'm just the opposite of you. It's when I'm feeling great and on top of the world when the little b*stard comes calling. :H

SF...I've heard that before and think it's quite funny.

Bear...like you say at least you got the ball rolling. Good luck with your one on one today.

Mick..."oh well wont need a car soon!" and there's the positive. Think I'd rather deal with the snow than all that rain.

Lav...hope the weather warm up happens as promised. I see curves is introducing a new routine. I've been tempted to sign up myself. Hope you have a great day.

Off to get some breakie and looking forward to +3 this afternoon. Have a great AF Wednesday all and all to come....PPQP

                Morning All!
Well, its a chilly day here in Calgary. Weather sucks everywhere it seems. TT, the rain sounds crazy and Mick, so windy there. (not that you are windy...)

I remember hearing a quote once, "won't all those super healthy people be pissed off when they find out they are dying of nothing"
Sugar, that was a good one, I'm going to use it!
Electric Blanket is going to be my next purchase for sure!

I went to my therapist yesterday and she said I was cured so that was good...Ha ha!! I wish. Anyway, it was a good session. She mostly listens to me blab on. She helpd with a few things though which was good.

PQ, ya +3 this aft. yay!

Anyway, back to work for me,

hey all - friend texted, asked what was up - I explained was upset wanted to talk as was worried re friendship. she said she has been really stressed about long complicated stuff and we were fine - big relief. Means next time I see her and she bites my head off I can just say 'oi,pack it in' and leave it at that - she doesn't want to talk about the problem, which is fine but knows I am there if she needs to talk.Major lesson - don't fester and deal with stuff at the time.

                      Yoo-hoo Fabbies!

Quick check-in, as I must venture out. The echo in the fridge demands so.

Been having an awesome week work wise... finally got started on a pet project (creating video tutorials, which I will eventually use for client training)... big learning curve but oodles of fun! :H

Well, I hope you're all reasonably warm, dry, and not blown to bits (Mick, especially). Must go dig myself out now.

I have been on Levaquin and Doxycycline (antibiotics) for the last week after a wound I got festered. They have been knocking me out, completely. I am so happy to be finished with the Levaquin and only have to take the Doxy for a few more days. I am literally exhausted after several hours of being awake. Sorry to complain, but I needed to whine for a minute. I will be so happy to be done! Also the Levaquin can make your joints and tendons painful and swollen, and my achilles tendon has been very sore. Okay, whinge over. Thanks for listening.

We always tried for April as May can sometimes bring in a blizzard.
March was a total write off as you never knew what the weather would bring.
