AF Daily ~ Sunday Feb 9

    Good morning Abbers!

    What's everyone up to today?
Cloudy & cold here, snow due to arrive this afternoon even though I didn't order any :H
This winter is certainly one for the record books around here!

Missing Mick, hope he returns to the flock soon!

Greetings TT, PQ, SL. SF , Det, YahYah & everyone! I hope everyone has a wonderful AF Sunday.
I'm still waiting for help to remove that fallen branch. YB was here yesterday but not feeling all that great so hopefully today will be the day. I'm having a hard time opening the door to the chicken house - have to get in there with their feed & water or all hell may break loose :H
I just heard on the news that there's still nearly 35,000 households & businesses without power in my county. What a shame! That ice storm last Wednesday was epic, no kidding.

Have a great AF Sunday everyone!
    Lav

    Morning everyone.
Lav, I believe ice storms are the worst winter "event". So destructive on the trees. We have a large white pine in the yard of parent's house that is very old. Through the years it has become a large naked trunk because of ice. Sooner or later we'll have to take it down.

Det, any beekeeping clubs in your area?

    have an enjoyable Sunday everyone...

One of THE best science projects my son ever did was building a spaghetti bridge :H :H
I set him up with a half a dozen boxes of spaghetti, handed him my hot glue gun & told him to have fun! I should have gotten a picture of that thing ~ turned out awesome

Yep - science fair project, she has done so well with the experiment, but writing it up that is a different picture - well, only cried once (me not her:H) out of total frustration and trying not to shout...argh! A nightmare is pretty right TT!
Had a passing thought of a Sunday drink, but thought of Pauly and chose not to....
Trying to get things done as they have a day off tomorrow, and I am taking a couple hours to tour an equine hospital with them, and then lunch - belated birthday treat for the science fair girl...

              happy Sunday ABeroooos!

              thanks for kickstarting us Lav

science fair? my fav event ever! if school was just one continuous science fair I'd have really enjoyed it.

Sam, good question about local bee clubs. I'm sure there are some local resources.

slept good and hard last night for the first time all week. yay! cough is getting better too.

today is house chores, movies and snuggling on the couch

tomorrow I'm packing up and getting ready for road trip to Fresno for a few days (booo).

              be well family

SL - I think kids handle science fair etc differently. There is a lot of emphasis on presentation and my girl (who is arty) always got caught up in that side of things - and nothing was ever perfect. She also is notorious for changing her mind about her project and leaving everything to the last minute - despite the best intentions. This morning we had a rerun with a history project on Liberace! Yes, I said that correct. Don't ask because I do not know why she was tearing her hair out writing up a presentation on the old queen. If only I could hand her some dried spaghetti and say have fun! I did cook some last night though.

This is all entirely irrelevant to AL but you never know what might drive the poor parents to despair - or possibly to distraction!:H:H

Oh TT - so true, she has been doing this for weeks, and it is due on Tuesday and last minute panic! I agree spaghetti and a glue gun sounds like so much more fun! And, hmm, yes - a lot of pressure for an old queen indeed:H:H
Glad you are feeling better Det. One day our paths will cross knowingly - we obviously pass each other all the time - I have Fresno on Wednesday! Maybe when you have honey to share I will have to see you

Warning - don't read this because it has nothing to do with AL.

Not sure if you are awake SL - but the project drama here continues. My daughter has to redo her poster because its on the wrong sized paper. Of course we don't have any such paper in the house and we tried to dash to the stationery store (sound familiar?) before it closed. Couldn't get there due to the traffic. I really fail to see how this develops the history learning skills of an intelligent 15 year old.

TT , hopefully, at some point, (long after she has left YOUR domain) it will help develop her planning skills. I remember these days very well, and I had to laugh reading this thread. To add my 2 cents, we once hit a deer in the fall of 2002 while rushing out for last minute supplies for some project or another, to add to the drama. Ugh!
