    thanks

determinator, breez, lushy, scoobydoo, flip thanks for your kind words. Yesterday was my first real test. This morning was amazing to wake up so really happy for a change all because I didnt open a bottle when it came so close. Today the urge seems so distant and absurd. I don't know what happened. I guess, dah, alcoholics get the urge to drink and for whatever reason the topa, cds whatever has kept the craving dormant until yesterday. Is this where keep it simple stupid comes from? All I know is today I now have another day AF. Free. . .
This program and its people are a wonderful gift of life.

    Hi Barry~

As more AF days pass you begin to feel more in charge of your life. The topa, cd's, past experiences do keep the cravings at bay but I do know that it is still my choice whether or not to drink. So with each AF day that pushes on and each opportunity "I could have drank but didn't" passes, I feel stronger knowing I am making the right choices. I am facing my fears and reality with the good & bad without the bottle. I am living again.

Congrats once more on a job well done-keep up the good work!!

This stupid really keeps it simple-LOL!

      thanks

It really does get easier Barry, I've nearly made 6 months AF and these days, even though I know it is possible, I can't imagine having a drink. That said, I remain vigilant and SCARED!!!

Stick with it, even when it all seems too hard.
It always seems impossible until it's done....

Hey Barry, 37 days AF is nothing to scoff at. You are doing great, and to be able to actually stop and get booze and not drink it is a credit to your resolve. I think you are a winner.

              hey Barry, Great Job

As Breez says, it does get easier, though having said that I got caught unawares a couple of days ago and had a real struggle keeping from drinking (thank good ness for this place!) - but I know it is now a decision whether or not to drink - so why would I decide to drink after nearly 3 months AF knowing what it does? But it does still sneak up sometimes...

Anyway, many congratulations, each success makes you stronger and gives you more ammunition for the next time, so onwards and upwards as they say! Today is a new, wonderful day in Absville!
