    af Sunday 9 March

    MAE absters

Welcome to Sunday. I have just returned from a very invigorating walk in the hills. SL - just saw that you have been out for a walk too!

Didn?t see any long-sword jousting going on ? hey Det, they ate a lot of bread back in Europe in those days too! Definitely go for the Italian rather than the German diet I think. Don?t think the Germans then would have used much olive oil- more likely lard.

We survived Saturday here ? the haircut was cancelled at daughter?s request and instead we spent about 2 hours looking for a birthday present for a 16 year old male. She opted for a cactus! A very spiky one. Probably seems a redundant gift for someone who lives near the desert (like Pauly or Det) but its exotic here.

Mick ? I hope you are feeling a bit better with the tummy probs. Thats usual when travelling esp in that part of the world. Just take it easy, drink lots and start on food like plain rice, bread etc before launching into the spicey stuff. If its an emergency take Diastop or such like ? no point in loosing too many days ? through having to hover over a toilet. Next it will be constipation ? always happens. Have I been too graphic ? I betcha! I recall when I lived in India and people would quite openly enquire after my bowel movements (too much or too little).

PPQP-enjoy your time with your Dad. A friend in Toronto informed me that he has sighted a blade of grass poking through the ground :H? so this might happen one of these days in your area.

Has it thawed a bit yet Lav? Any grass in sight? Have a good weekend anyway.

Hope your weekend is also going well, Sam and Pauly and Yah.

SL ? don?t obsess over the wine-gift. Its just expensive liquid in bottles but it can destroy you. Give it away. Or toss it.

SF ? have you resolved things a bit after the panic the other day? Any thoughts about counselling?

Well I better see to lunch - nothing fancy. You all have a great Sunday ? AF and glorious!

Well heck, I could post on today but I'll post on tomorrow. Why put off today what you can't do tomorrow... or something like that. TT, and other non USer's, is time change an international thing, or is this a US thingy? Just curious. Heck, we still got Lee/Jackson day! Hope everyone is well. Mick, hope you're feeling ok.

Sam....I know we lost an hour....but, it can't be Sunday already

Mick hope you are feeling better. Sick on vacation? Yuck. Hope it is minor.

Lav-I can't say we have any snow melting....but, the weather was awesome here.

PPQ....hope you had a great day with your Dad. Getting him outside has to be good for him.

Det...I'll let you play with the swords. I would lose a finger before I even got started.

TT...so no hair drama to report? I saw this young gal today who had purple hair. Honestly, it looked equisite on her.

SL...you are sounding good. I can think of a few people that I don't care for that I would give the wine to

I have weathered the growing pains. I should know by now that type of thinking is a prelude to coming out the other side with a little more wisdom or vision.

Woke up today and had absolutely nothing to do. Headed out to enjoy the sun....and ended up at a lovely yoga studio. Stayed for 2 classed and then went back for a workshop. Came home and enjoyed the warm evening with the family. Lovely day.

Plan to be outside tomorrow...and maybe hit up another yoga class.

          Good Sunday morning Abbers,

I didn't actually move the clocks forward one hour before I went to bed last night. Don't have to be anywhere this morning so why bother? :H
Now I get to spend the next few weeks dealing with my dogs being all confused about when it's time to eat :H

TT, glad you got thru the hair crisis uninjured
Yes, I am seeing some green pop up as the snow disappears, yay! I walked around yesterday checking out some of the buds on the trees, fattening up & getting ready to bloom, yay!

Hi there Sam, SF & everyone!
I got a Facebook message from Mick yesterday. He was sunning himself without a hat on his head so I hope he avoided getting his head burned again :H

Det, waiting for you to check in with your limb count - hope everything is still attached :H
Playing with swords would make me a nervous wreck!!!

I had no plans for the day but my DIL just changed that. She will be coming for dinner along with the boisterous grandsons, oh boy

Wishing everyone a great AF Sunday!

            MAE ALL...

TT...thanks for kicking us off today. I think we may have turned the corner on winter as it's to be above zero for the next week. Starting today with +15 (59) so I'm thinking of joining you and SL and going for a long walk today. Think I'll stay away from hills though.

Sam...yup Canada jumped an hour ahead last night too. We'll everyone except Saskatchewan. We even had to extend Daylight Saving Times to concur with the US change of dates.

SF...had a great time with my Dad. Not only did we spend time outside Dad was actually in our time zone and very talkative. He appears to be quite content with his life as it is now.

Lav...thought I'd check before hitting submit and yup there you are. I don't think the Daylight Saving Thingy is working the way they intended. Personally I think they should do away with it. Enjoy your dinner tonight.

Mick...hope things have turned around for you. Watch that sun on your noggin.

Off to make the coffee, help yourselves. Have a great AF Sunday all and all to come....PPQP

Sam we chAnge clocks but do it on different dates. I don't think we change until April.we call it daylight saving time! :H.
The farmers used to object to it as they said it confused the farm animals:H

Hi - yep clock change day and up way too early on a Sunday to take daughter #1 to her volunteering gig. Hate this change thingy - I think it is an old idea that worked centuries ago, but no need nowadays - I wish they woukd get rid of it! I called my parents too early as their clocks don't change for a could more weeks. TT its called DST here too...
SF - wine on its way to you for you to give to your enemies:H:H
Well - what to do today - daughter #2 still sleeping - lucky her! She has homework so I will be bugging her soon.
Think I will get some tomato plants today....cloudy today - next storm coming in...
Thinking of summer plans - trying to work out whether to break into savings and have a holiday - I have done so well, and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel - I have to save for a trip home every couple years, but that's not a holiday...girls are getting older....hmmm, hurts to open the wallet, the moths flying out bother me, but I think I need to do this...this is when I really miss having a partner/husband to make joint decisions...

You can count on that TT - that was what did me in last year - I have to go next year, my father will be 80. I am seriously considering antabuse for that trip even though I really don't like meds - but I am already getting my head in gear for that trip:H I am thinking of San Diego this year....

                        ahoy ABerooooos!

pleasantly sore from swordplay and moving but all limbs intact and sober so all is well in the world.

TTops, cacti are very cool! interesting pick

Mick, so glad your well enough to continue your temple crawl.

I got a cool 'bio hacking' gizmo for my iphone made by Heartmath. it has an ear clip and with the APP it coaches you into breathing/meditation exercises to achieve a state of coherence and tranquility. it's really neat. It's remarkable how much our thoughts dictate our biological state of being.

nice cool day, great for packing!

                        be well everyone

You are sounding great Det - keep it up. I am sure the changes you are making, though tough, will be a huge help.
I went and bought tomato plants today - my favourite fruit!!!
Also got a bird bath for my favourite pets - I have about 6 hummingbirds that are regular visitors, and I much prefer them to the cats that i have to live with - so got them a bird bath!
Planted a hanging basket too - feeling pleased with myself - so much for saving for holidays though:H
Wish it was not the end of the weekend....:upset:

Scottish Lass, that sounds like a great relaxing day to me, and very positive. I was all set to start planting tomatoes, kale and lettuces when we decided to list the house. d-oh! be putting that one off for a couple months.

back is mighty sore, so watching the special on the universe called 'cosmos'. very cool.

                            gnight Abers!
