    af Wed 19 March

Hi everyone, welcome to Wednesday in the real world! I didn’t post on Tuesday’s thread – was rushing around and working at home. Another writing and editing deadline. Yes, it has been quiet on MWO and I am one of those responsible. :l

Mick – sorry you are not so well. Its quite normal to feel weird and flat after a long haul flight. Its not just the coming home after a holiday – it's the flight and time zones. Best thing is to rest when you can but get back into your home routine – and not to worry if you feel ghastly for several days. Believe me, us Kiwis are experts on punishing travelling. I didn't go backpacking in Vietnam or Cambodia but I was in Thailand and Myanmar (Burma) in the 1980s.

Hi there Yah. Don't isolate yourself too much! The mention of your daughter storing stuff reminded me that my sister was the one that threw much of my personal stuff out that I had stored at my Mum’s place. I lost clothes as well as school certificates and such like. Mum was still alive too. I talked to my partner about this today and he perceptively said that my sister has problems dealing with the past. I am very different - I value memories even if they are painful and I don’t think its healthy to just cut them out. It would be fine if she did this with her own stuff but it's the way she will try to do it with others that's annoying. The very worst thing she did was dispose of my mother’s ashes (cremains) without consulting me – I had promised Mum that I would scatter them from a plane. Oh well, I have Mum’s few written memoirs and shall protect them and pass them on to my daughter! Her life was painful and sad but she wrote well about this - I know my sister would just destroy the writing. I must scan it also and preserve it via digital means as well.

people do have to eventually make room – so this is not meant as a criticism of parents who have to put the hard word on their offspring!

Det – hope you enjoy the sword thing and your curry.

Well Lav –you must be getting excited about your anniversary – I hope you do something fun to celebrate! I intend to come to the party!

SF – very interesting how you live in an apartment. Its not at all the norm over here. In fact there are very few apartments suitable for families here.

SL – almost another month of you being AF. I hope its going OK with school this week.

Sam – you seem to have been quiet. Hope you are OK.

Pauly – how’s the week going after Paddy’s Day?

PPQP - good plan to have a long weekend. Make sure you get that Me time.

Well I better return to the Salt Mines - its a lovely sunny day outside but I can only enjoy it through the windows today!

Have a great sober Wednesday one and all.

    Checking in.

Mick...hope you are feeling better. Projectile anything isn't much fun.

Lav...you would have a hard time hiding chickens in the apartment

SL...hope your thoughts passed. They come at me from time to time. Hate them.

TT...I think in the states it depends on where you live. In the North I had what I think now was a gigantic house in the suburbs, so glad I don't have that thing anything more. Then we had one in the country, but I hated the isolation. Our complex is mainly families and was designed for that. I thought I would hate apartment living and planned on being in one for a year max. Turns out we love it. It really is more condo like, than what a typical apartment would look like.

I came home from work and slept most of the day. Not feeling sick, but not my usual self.

My wife told me she would find me far more attractive if I stopped getting drunk every night.

Wish I could say the same.

I'm not saying me and my wife argue a lot, but my bedside table is next to the couch.

I've just started reading my first ever Braille horror story.

I think that something scary is about to happen, I can feel it.

My nan bought me a hat for birthday.

After trying it on, I looked at her and said, "Well?"

She said, "Do you think it's a bit tight?"

"Yes, nan." I replied, "Where the f.ck are the rest of my presents?"

"How's the diet going?" I asked my buddy.

"Not good." he sighed, "I had eggs for breakfast this morning."

      "Oh dear." I sympathized, "Fried?"

      "Cadburys.

My current job involves working on an airport customer service desk.

We deal with luggage complaints on a case by case basis.

My wife came home from the gym today staggering and sweating after pushing her body to the limit...

She only went to sign up.

A huge aquarium at a Disney World restaurant has burst open, causing terrified diners to flee.

      Good luck with finding Nemo.

Two old women have been sitting on a park bench for hours nattering away about their lives.
'I think my bum has gone to sleep' says one.
'I know' says her friend 'I've heard it snore several times

Why is Ukraine the safest country in the world?

      Because there's no Crimea.

I saw a sign outside my local pizza restaurant last night:

'Have Whatever You Like For Just ?9.95'

So I loaded their tables onto my van.

My son was crying last night, "My girlfriend has finished with me," He sniffed, "I've got no friends left, you split up with Mum last year, I feel suicidal!"

"I take it this would be a bad time to tell you you're adopted then?" I replied.

Domestic violence has left me in considerable pain lately, so I rang the Domestic Violence helpline and got some much needed advice.

They recommended I keep my thumb on the outside of my fist.

I didn't get where I am by making stupid little mistakes.

      I made f.cking huge mistakes.

Good morning Abbers & Happy Hump day

Cloudy with rain on the way today - not snow, yay!!!!
With a little luck the snow will all be gone by tomorrow when Spring actually begins

TT, I'm sorry your sister was so fierce with your belongings & your Mom's ashes as well - that's terrible Reminds me that I am lucky to have had no sisters if that's the way the behave!
One week until my big anni party, better start doing some planning, huh? :H

SF, glad you enjoy your living quarters
        Hope you are feeling OK!

        Thanks for the coffee Mick!
Hope you are feeling better today. You're making me jealous talking about your garden. Mine should be visible as soon as the last of this snow melts :H
We apparently have had the second snowiest winter in the Philadelphia/Baltimore area EVER!
No wonder we're all so sick of it around here.
More great pics there! You would never get me into one of those tunnels, geez!

I need to get to the post office, Curves & a stop at the supermarket - thrilling!!

what colour is your hair Pauly?
Mine is light - medium brown with a few subtle (nb!!!) gold highlights - sometimes I go for a more coppery color. Nothing rad at my advanced age.

                  Evening all
been playing in the mud last couple days... 8 inches of snow, then rain a few days later. Guess around July we will bitchin for rain. Never juss right!! Reminds of my boy when he was younger... this shoe's too tight, this one (the other) too loose.

Mick, really enjoyed the pictures. I remember those tunnels from news reports. It really always strikes me how my world seems so narrow yet there is so much out there, so different.

Ordered seeds today. We haven't ordered in a long time but all our seeds were either too old or what we tried to keep last year rotted. Looking forward to getting down and dirty in the dirt!

                  have a good one everybody

                    Happy Wed ABerooooos!

Mick, great pics once again. getting claustrophobic just looking at those tiny tunnels.

                    elephant garlic? yeah!

swordplay last night was mostly finesse movements so while it was a great stretch and light workout I don't feel like I've been run down by a steam-roller. good!

well, tomorrow I'm once again 30 days AF, and sugar-free. Feeling pretty darn amazing and don't want to lose this natural high.

be well everyone and all to come
