    af Sunday 23 March

Since everyone is posting about their early rising - I am starting the Sunday thread now. because it is Sunday! I have been up since 4.50 am. No reason just felt like it.

Hope you had a nap on Saturday Mick as you must be a bit sleep deprived.
Lav - did you have a good day with the kiddies.

Last night out with G. and daughter was good. Best part was dinner - we went to a Vietnamese restaurant (Mick suggested it:H). Very subtle spices and delicious. The show was not to my taste - bit too old fogey for me (even if I am an old fogey:H) but the others enjoyed it I think.

The other good news is that I easily fitted in to a new dress - a style I would never have worn a few years ago. This I can definitely put down to the weight and puffiness I have lost from drinking AL. Another thing to be grateful for. I know its vanity but hey! Daughter also got dressed up and looked lovely.

Not much I can write about as you guys are still starting Saturday (except for Mick) - so have a good one.

You will still be recovering from your trip Mick so expect to feel shattered.I think Granny naps are the way to go.
I'm not a big rice fan. In fact I don't like rice!
I had a tofu/mushroom claypot which was yummy.

PPQP was posting regularly but she is having a long weekend so maybe is detoxing from the internet.

Must be near your bedtime now Mick.

          Good morning Abbers,

Clouds & colder today - oh well!
Yesterday was a treat, spent a good bit of the day outside

Sam, do you sell eggs at your CSA? That would be pretty cool
How close to DC are you? I'm not stalking, I promise :H

Mick, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a perfectly executed granny nap :H
I hope you are getting stronger!

TT, glad you enjoyed your family night out!
I haven't been to a live performance of anything for at least 10 years!!!

I sincerely hope this threat of snow on Tuesday is not too big of a deal. A light covering would be enough to wet seeds, right Sam?

Not sure what I doing today, still working on a pot of coffee
Have a great AF Sunday everyone.
Only three days until I wave the 5 year AF flag!!

            Hi Lav
Coming up on the 5 year mark GREAT TO READ !!!!
I didn't really get into each anniversary but the 5 years was real big because the relapse rate drops down to 7 percent. This is a journey we are each dealing with but in the start of recovery the numbers are tough to ignore in regard to success.
So good to see another member enjoying the great world al free. Very hard at the start of recovery to possible see enjoying life without al but as we know it is so much better.
This tread has always been the place to come for great support and a strong AF message always good to read each day.

Well that was a strange night! If I did not know better I would be liooking for empty bottles to see how much I had had to drink the night before! Restless sleep, not a happy sleep, bad taste in mouth and woke feelin drained - not how I like my Sundays to be! Hope that was a one off!
Looking forward to teh party Lav!
Can I have soem eggs Sam - the place I was so excited to get eggs a month or so ago has not had their sign outside again. The CSA efforts around here seem to have stalled...

TT - here is a good explanation -
For over 25 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer.

Here are the basics: a farmer offers a certain number of "shares" to the public. Typically the share consists of a box of vegetables, but other farm products may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share (aka a "membership" or a "subscription") and in return receive a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season.

I used to have CSA eggs - so I had a share, and bought my share every week regardless - so it is guarenteed selling...

                    Sounds good!

Sorry you woke up feeling a wreck SL - that happens. Many people here on MWO put that down to PAWS but I have a different perspective. Lots of non-alkie people wake up feeling awful and its not because of PAWS.
I am not denying PAWS but IMO it can be exaggerated. Just like AL-coholism is not to blame for everything that goes wrong in a person's life.
My view is not shared by many people here but I try hard to put things in perspective. And you have a lot going on in your life - regardless of your issues with AL.

Hope the rest of your day picks up. :h

                          happy Sunday ABeroooooos!

a marvelous morning in the house of garlic I'm happy to say. did a 4 HOUR sword class yesterday, whew! they are getting ready for a tournament in SoCal next week hence the extra long class time. I'm not able to take off the time so I won't be going. Besides the fact I hate tournaments...I'm just doing this because it's fun, culturally enriching and healthy.

puking dog Lav? dog hasn't been sneaking out to the local pub I hope

that local farmers thing sounds a lot like what we'd call a 'coop' here. I really like them and support the cause for local sustainable organic foods.

well I'm off to the gunshow to pick up an old Arabic knife that a friend has. I'm trying to NOT accumulate more stuff but can't pass on this one.

                          off I go!

                          be well loves

Big hugs Pauly - you must be very tired but you are doing a great job (why is it called a job? :H:H) as a Mum and Granny. But You know by now that lack of sleep, tiredness will make you feel vulnerable.
                            Hang on in there.

Hiya all....well was up early doors this morning to go out but instead spent most of the day in that room in the house where wars have been one, thoughts have been thunk ..yada yada yada!!!had really bad stomach cramps and all the trimmings so not such a clever idea to go on a 2n half hr drive..so it was no show for me...feeling better now ..but every time I say that it goes pear shaped...so lets have a looksee and have a butchers at what everyone is up to..

hiya Lav....here you go ..one late brew for you.....despite not being able to venture too far, I can still do bits n bats around the garden so thats what Ive been doing...hows the weather been with you?

hiya tt...hows you today?you fightin fit now?

SL how are you doing?..despite the pretend hangover symptoms!!got to agree with tt here...yep we tend to blame quite a lot on the booze, but to be honest, the body is a very complex thing and needs to sort itself out at times...and then on top of that there is the brain ..so taking them both into account and their functions and performance they do need time to detox..really interesting about the Co-op and its shares..talking about the co-op I can still remember my mum and next doors co-op divvy numbers!!

hiya Caysea...dont see you that often ,but its always nice to see you when you post...how are you?hope all is well.

hiya Pauly.....big smile ...its harder to cry than smile!!!hope Louie is better today

hiya bear.....so what happened??22 days blown out for a drink at a gig..doesnt make a lotta sense to me..but hey I aint your keeper personally I would be really cheesed off at all this if it was me.....

hiya det ...how are you?well zorro youve really taken this sword business to heart..well done.Did you get the knife?whats its significance?

right will put a couple of jokes on for you

"You can tell a lot about a person by the beer they drink" I said to a bloke at the bar.

"Really?" he replied, "so what can you tell about me?"

                              "You're a git" I said.

"What makes you say that?" he asked.

                              I said, "that's my beer you're drinking."

A mass brawl broke out at the press conference announcing the death of boxing promoter Micky Duff yesterday.

It's what he would have wanted.

What did the suicide bomber's wife say before his mission?

                              "Love you to bits."

For our wedding anniversary I took my wife to "Restaurant Gordon Ramsey" in London.

I told her she could have anything she wanted as long as it didn't come to more than about ?150

                              She had the water.

Fat kids all over the country have been practicing for sport relief.

Practicing their mums signature on an excuse note for the PE teacher.

Someone recently asked me, "What blood type are you?"..

I said , "The red runny type".

                              "My partner recently gave birth."

                              "Boy or girl?"

                              "She's a girl, I'm not gay."

Went to an Irish auto repair shop today.

                              McCanick's.
