    Sunday 20th May.....

    Bonjour...good evening, and welcome.....
Sunday morning (VERY bloody early...insomniac melon again) in the land of Aotearoa and Bro'town....Haven't been able to get on all week as the dearly beloved had taken the 'pooter to Whangerei with him for workiepoos, so if anyone needs hugs and love that I don't know about, then please take them in generous amounts dearhearts:h

I have had a tiring, but enjoyable as always, work week, and a luvverly start to my weekend yesterday when we went up to the Whangaparoa penninsula for a trot around the gypsies, tinkers and travellers fair, and then a big fat walk with the hell hound along Orewa beach.
Even though Autumn is crawling in, Mr Sunshine had his top hat on and was beaming down on all and sundry so it was perfect......I very nearly bought an alpaca poncho in a gorgeous shade of olive green, but then remembered that it never gets cold enough to wear more than a thin sweater here so my beautiful purchase would just have gone smelly with damp in my wardrobe....it was beautiful though...I think I may have to move next door to MikeupNorth and then I can wear stuff like that all the time

The walk along the beach was heavenly...from where we are, we see the towering shape of Mt Rangitoto rising up out of the blue.....a view I would certainly miss if we ever had to leave here....Rangi is an active volcano with a very distinctive shape that is pretty much an emblem of this area, and that, and the other few islands that are dotted around, certainly make for an interesting vista as you cast your peepers horizonwards....Gosh I'm a lucky bint!!!

Seeing as we enjoyed ourselves so much yesterday, we now have to pop our hair shirts on once more and pay penance through self flagellation with the contents of the laundry pile, and the tortured pilgrims weeding of the front section....I may also be forced to take a vacuum to the front room too....I could fashion my own alpaca poncho out of the hair that the hell hound has felt necessary to deposit everywhere in a lively fashion...we are pretty much wading through it up to our ankles.....aaaahhhhhh......wot a luvverly hygenic household I keep:H

Have a great weekend treasures....I know many of you are just starting yours.....
Lots of luvvity luvvy love......Weehirsutemelon xxx

Wee, I just woke up on SATURDAY morning to read this and now I am in a complete time warp. Thought I had slept through my whole weekend.

        Sunday 20th May.....

        Gday Melon,

Me, too, had to adjust to GMT (Golly Melon Time). So now that Sunday has finally reached me: Goooooooooood Morning Viiiiiiiiietnammmmmmmmmmmmmm!

The weather's rainy here! No wonder, the Monsoon rains are coming to this part of the world. So good! But then again, climate change might bring too much of the good, so flooding ahead ... So while I was singing in the rain, making the rains worse (!), Melon was enjoying autumn, and in the process, what? soiling the lingerie? Didn't quite get that, ha, ha ha. Ahh, no, 'ou weeere on ze beach! So no lingerie! ;-))) And that episode was followed by 'weeding' in the front section, well, well, Melon, ... Weeds in the front section! You better beware. I won't repeat my dialogue with the Kiwi police if you git arristid for smoking di wiids in the front siktion of the yard! ;-))) OK, Party on Melon!
All jokes aside, though, North island is really stunning. I went there in 1996. Cape Reinga. Stunning. People were just really nice. What was funny, we went to a market in Rorotunga and my parents and I were speaking in our native European (minority) language, and there was a woman who turned around and asked us where we were from. Her mother turned out to be from the same village as my mum! Talk about small world!

Anyway, Sunday's here. Good Mood! Stay safe Absville!

          Sunday 20th May.....

          Hello All,

You know those days at work that are memorable, only for the fact that they were sooooo bad? Well, yesterday was one of those days. We were working in Edinburgh, in the offices of the highest court in the land, putting new floors in two of the fanciest toilets I've ever set eyes on. Basically, it involved moving 7 tons of dirty, wet concrete from the middle of one of the busiest tourist streets in Scotland, through the poshest and cleanest of offices, without making a mess, and without any disturbance. A four hour job ended up taking thirteen hours; on a Saturday... FA Cup Final day. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. I left the house at quarter to seven in the morning and I got home at nine at night, filthy dirty and two hours late for an arranged (booze free) Scrabble night at a friends house. Still, job done and Scrabble won. I'm taking my dog for a long walk and relaxing today. Day 50 AF. I can't believe it. Thank you my friends.

            Sunday 20th May.....

good morning all, 50 days Af is incredible Popeye! What can i say!!! I am sure I must be something like that too but at the moment I wake up with what feels like a hangover everyday. Yesterday morning i took dog for walk, came back and lay on the sofa for about 5 hours feeling terribly sick. Dreadful. anyway mustn't moan.
Today the sun is shining and I always feel like the world is not such a bad place afterall. I am looking out of the window now and the grass looks greener, the flowers look brighter. So I will get ready for the day. I hope you all have a good sunday. Lots of love, Bella xxx

                Morning All!

North East Coast U.S. rainy today but will clear up.

This corner of MWO is awe-inspiring. Where can I log in & get a visual on beautiful kiwiland beginning it's autumn descent to the monsoon season in Vietnam to toilets in Scotland to a Hello from London and back to the East Coast. All different environments, lifestyles & circumstances yet one common intent that bonds us together. Beautiful!

Rainy here as well & am planning to empty all the closets of all remnants of winter & load the summer clothes in.

Congrats on 50 Pop! That's awesome! You the man!

                Happy AF Sunday to all!

WTG Popeye!! 50 days is awesome!!! DH and I work in concrete -- so I could totally empathize with your situation..blech! glad you won at Scrabble though.

and Wee your description put me on another continent -- even pulling out my World Atlas!
Ditto on what you said Breez, said it perfectly. I'm kinda blown away by this worldwide thing. I'm the US southwest desert rat. I'm totally inspired to saddle my horse and take her for a ride before it gets too hot around here.

                        enjoy the day everyone!!

                          Sunday 20th May.....

                          Hi All,

Glad to catch up to you Weemelon, (though actually you must be on Monday by now!) I'm just enjoying my last few hours of a long weekend and whereas I've had to work for a large part of it, not having the kids in for a couple of days is a great break! Back to the madhouse tomorrow...

So adding a post from the Alsace in France to add another little corner to the internationalism of this thread - you're right Breeze, it's great! Way to go Popeye! - Congrats on 50 and also on surviving the job from hell - glad you won at scabble though and a walk in the Scottish hills must sooth all but the most troubled of minds...! D - wish my sugar cravings were only when I got sick - have really got to do something about them (says she after her 6th cookie/biscuit!) It's funny nagging my daughters about a healthy diet and then going off and sneaking the sweet stuff - a good example of 'do as I say, not as I do'! Bear - congrats on the Roadster - Victoria - how's the marathon training? and Bella, hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Love to all and enjooy whatever part of your week/weekend you're at - chat soon! :l

Hello all. Did 7 massages today. I'm wiped. Felt grumpy when I got home and asked DH to cook dinner. If I had wine in the house, I'd be mighty tempted, so glad I don't. Time for hypno CDs! 21 days AF. That's 3 weeks. Good night, sorry not feeling too social.
