    Good morning friends,

Sunless & damp here, oh well! Looks like this weather will be hanging around most of the week so I guess I'd better get used to it now :H

Papmom, the quilt looks awesome! Your niece looks happy with her gift!
Don't know much about goat's milk but I imagine you can freeze it for DD. Lots of women freeze breast milk so why not goat milk?
YB has been on his best behavior & just spent the weekend painting two bedrooms that still had the original paint. They both look great now. I just haven't had the ambition to do all that on my own. The blueberry bushes are looking fabulous & full of berries waiting to ripen. The chickens are just fine!

Cyn, I've used Photobucket for years. Can't think of why you are having problems saving pics on your hard drive - I'll have to take a look at it & see. Glad your project is coming along
I found a 'recipe' for something on Facebook recently & am going to make some today.
How to Make Cayenne Warming Oil for Joint, Muscle and Arthritis Pain Relief | Healthy and Natural World
I think it may help me & my daughter & maybe you as well!

Star, I hope you have a good week!
I know it's hard but try to stay focused on your journey, let go of trying to manage the outcome.
That really helped me from completely losing my stuff 4 years ago when YB wandered off without explanation. And it's helping me now since he's wandered back in without explanation. We simply cannot control every situation & it's harmful to us to keep trying to do so :l

Greetings to Dill - hope your weekend was good!

OK, off to feed animals & get myself to Curves.
    Have a great day all!

      Good morning to all...

Lav, thanks for the advice to let go of the outcome. I am strangely calm as we put the house up for sale yesterday. I have to trust that it will sell quickly, and I have phone interviews, and two in person interviews in the next few weeks. I am looking forward to starting a new job and meeting new people. I like that part of it. I want to work in a bigger place, not so lonely. So, there we are. The blueberry bushes sound fantastic, I love picking blueberries and eating them. How wonderful for you this summer.

Dill, hope you are enjoying the peace and quiet after the initial culture shock. I know it was so quiet and clean after my son moved out for the nth time but now I cherish the beauty of it all. We have put in our time, right?

Pap, have a good week and take care of yourself.

Cyn, enjoy this warm weather week if you can. I love summer weather.

      Have a terrific Tuesday, AF.

        Good morning!

I tried several times to check in yesterday but for some reason, I couldn't get on the site. I had some trouble this morning, too, but managed on the 3rd try.

Papmom, I too have heard of people freezing milk, even cows milk. I've never tried it, but have been told it can definitely be done. Listening to you talk about dreading work and listening to co-workers griping brought me back to my own days putting up with that. It takes such an effort to turn those negative conversations off and substitute for good ones. I used to make a list of local news topics or topics of special interest and I would start a conversation about one of those to kind of shift the topic whenever I could. I found I had to have a written list because once in those negative conversations my mind seemed to get blocked from thought!:H Having the topics on paper, even if it stayed in my pocket, helped me to be able to make a shift sometimes. The quilt looked nice and it really put a smile on your niece's face!

Lav, do you have any good suggestions for controlling cholesteral naturally? I am on statins and have been for years. I want to try to go off them. Any suggestions? My eyes are really dry all of the time and I think it is aggravated, if not caused, by the medication(s) I am on. One is a Lipitor substitute, the other is a bp medication.

Cyn, sorry I can't help you with the photobucket question. I nearly never go on photobucket anymore. Yesterday as I was reading your post about getting AF and the support you found on this thread I remembered something from long ago at the beginning. I was sitting in the shade on my front porch on a hot August afternoon reading on MWO when I saw a post from you. You hadn't been on in a while and were coming back to join us but you were so tentative! You thought we may have forgotten you!:H Not a chance! I remember so well welcoming you back and being so happy to see you. Your avatar back then was some sort of blue flower, like a wild iris or something I think. Anyway, I'm so glad you have been along with us and that we have all helped each other find our own ways out!

Star, I am listening to an audio book by Jodi Picoult. She is an really good author, have you ever read any of hers? She's written 16!

Nothing special going on here today, just quiet. I'll take it!:H Have a good AF Tuesday everyone.:h

            Good morning friends,

Moving like a slug here after my 2 am dog adventure.....
Why do my dogs insist on waking me at odd hours? :H

Star, you sound positive & I like that
Wishing you the best with everything! I have really good feelings about the changes you are making

Dill, my cholesterol was good until I turned 50. My diet was always pretty good even though I drank way too much wine. My activity level had dropped quite a bit after I left my hospital job & suffered my head injury. Improved diet & activity levels over the past 5 years dropped it some but not enough. I just started on a low dose of generic Lipitor a few weeks ago. I'm not a big fan of Dr Oz but here is his page: 3 Steps to Controlling Cholesterol Naturally | The Dr. Oz Show
I cannot tolerate soy products so I use almond, rice or coconut milks for cooking. I cut out all dairy years ago & eat very little chicken or turkey & no red meat.
Sometimes the problem is in your genes - I'm sure it is with me. I also drink a lot of decaf green tea which also helps lower B/P. I am more concerned about arterial plaque build-up than I am cholesterol numbers
Sometimes you can offset the dry eye SE by really increasing your H2O intake.

Greetings Papmom, hope your day is good. Same to you Cyn.
I am going to visit my daughter & granddaughter today & have fun walking around their cute little town. It's quite hot & humid in these parts, had storms early this morning.

            Have a great day all!

              Good morning to all...

Lav, interesting article by Dr. Oz. Thanks for suggesting it. I am still up and down, thanks for your thoughts that all this is for the good. I am trying to focus on that and appreciate your support. Have fun today with you girls.

Dill, I have read some of Jody Piccoult's books and have enjoyed some of them. Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate your support too.

To all, have a good day.

                Good morning friends,

I had a nice day out with the girls yesterday. Today is stinky little boy day :H
I'll be watching them all day & it's raining - not good.
It's much better when I can get them outside to run off the excessive energy. Hopefully this afternoon will improve.

Star, it was difficult learning to trust the universe but in the end it was the sanest thing to do
I had a control freak father so I picked up that habit at a very young age. But we can unlearn habits & replace them with new beliefs. That's how I've gotten to the place I am today. Hang in there, you are doing just fine

                Greetings Dill, Cyn & Papmom.
I hope we all have a fantastic AF Hump day!!!
                Wish ne luck :H

                  Good morning all -

Good luck, Lav! Your day sounds pretty daunting...I hope the sun breaks out so that you can get the boys outside. Your kids sure are lucky to have you there to help with child-care. Nice to hear the news about YB - or maybe now you have to call him PB (paint). There's nothing like a new coat of paint on the walls to lift the spirits. What color did you choose?

Star - Congrats on putting the house on the market! I'm sure that it looks terrific and will sell quickly. Seems like the Universe is setting up a great pathway for you - congrats on the job interviews! Remember to breathe. I promise to get the move lists to you today.

Dill - wow, what a memory you have. I'm trying to think of that avatar - yes, maybe it was an Iris. Lav, I still miss the purple monster that used to wink at us every so often! Yes, this has been a long road, but so worth it. And truly it wouldn't have happened without this thread and all our friends here. I love to think of you having some time to yourself today - maybe you are finally having your retirement! Well deserved.

Pap - I forgot to say that the quilt looks beautiful. She's a lucky niece...

RE: Photobucket. I will re-visit it, Lav. I was in a hurry and stressed when I tried to access them before - I'm finding that my brain has been a little foggy over these last months, and the fog seems to be lifting a little now...I'll try again. On the good side of things, I have created 3 beautiful (hopefully) photo gift books on Shutterfly for a client's donors. It took all evening (till midnight) the last 2 nights, but I got it done. It's given me a boost to have figured it all out and to have done something creative.

Another long day ahead of me, but I'm really knocking down my list, so I'm happy. I just need a little more time to devote to the encroaching wildness in the woods, but that will have to wait for a day or two. I'm sending everyone great energy and wishing you all a happy Hump Day!

Nothing more beautiful than a day in June! It has been raining and the green just jumps out at you.

Lav, hope your day went well. Trusting in the Universe, huh? I'm trying, I'm trying. My interview for Friday was rescheduled for Tuesday, so I have two next week, so far. Oddly enough, I like interviews, and do well. I had a phone interview yesterday where they asked me numerous questions and realized in the middle of it I was enjoying myself. Thanks so much for your support.

Dill, I know you are enjoying this summer, and you had to trust in the Universe too.

Cyn, pace yourself, you are so creative and hardworking.

Pap, hope your week is good.

I have a long day at work today, so off I go. Have a good one.

                      Good morning friends,

Flood watches in effect once again. Rain, rain & more rain.

Everything is very green Star but soggy
Wonderful to hear you are good with the interviews, most of us don't enjoy that process so much.
Making an effort to NOT worry ahead about things has been very helpful for me, something I highly suggest for everyone!

Yesterday was a busy day but not bad. Despite the dampness I did get my grandson to his soccer practice. 30 minutes watching 5 year olds running around in wet grass is a thrill :H

Dill, is it dry in your neck of the woods?

Cyn & Papmom, how are you girls doing today?

OK, I'm going to get myself to Curves then back here to get these newly painted rooms back together.
Have a great AF day everyone!

Things going well here - just got a call to produce a piece in the next hour, so will hop back on later. Rain is soggy, but beautiful, unfortunately the weeds love it to! Looking forward to a dry spell to get out there and hack away soon.

Wishing all a great AF day - will check in again later.

                          Hello All,

Yes Lav, it is soggy here. I am watching the weeds taking advantage of the weather keeping me inside as they gleefully jump up and grow, grow, grow!:H

Hi Cyn, you sound busy as always. Thanks for checking in.

Star, I am glad you enjoy interviews but I really can't relate to that! I haven't been in a job interview since 1986! I don't know how I would handle it at this point, but maybe like you, I would enjoy it. I'm much more confident now than I was back then. Of course experience will do that for you.

I have been really busy the past few days, but enjoying things. Being AF really makes life so much more enjoyable.:h

                            Soggy Papmom checking in!

Star-I'm glad you have such a positive outlook on the interview process. I hate it-in higher ed it's always group ones and they are the worst. With your positive attitude you'll have an offer in no time!!

Cyn-projects are dropping in your lap these days!! That is great!

Lav-you had a marathon day with the boys yesterday! Loved the pic of Will the Conductor!!

Dill-is the house too quiet now?

Not much going on here. worked out a couple of times, had my last nutrition appt, got my hair cut and looking forward to a weekend off that might include a sail.

I'll check in later this weekend. Take care and lets get some sun shining now!!

                              Good morning...

I am up really early and protesting! Leaving at 7 am as we are moving hours away so lots of traveling lately. Luckily, good coffee this am. Two showings of our house when we are gone, we have to leave it spotless. Found a home for two of our cats, so last night the oldest cat cried (meowed) all night in grief of losing her friend. This is so hard. Drinking would be crazy, hard, nuts. I could not meet the challenges I have any way except AF. Please send positive energy that our house sells today. Wouldn't that be awesome? I look forward to interviewing, I love to talk to new people, know my stuff so do not fear the process.

Pap, group interviews are more stressful. Academia is a different beast. Hope your weekend off is filled with both fun and rest.

Dill, so glad you get some time to enjoy after the last year. You deserve it. AF is so much more enjoyable, too.

Lav, hope the rain lets up a bit but that is June. You sound well, not much feedback on YB, huh? Does it feel normal to have him back? My husband will have to leave soon to work in the new town and I will be alone. It will be weird and lonely. Off to get ready now, have a great day ladies.

                                Good morning Soggy-ville friends!

Another day of rain here but the weekend is supposed to be better.

Cyn, glad work sounds like it's going well for you. Hope you get some outside time this weekend!

Dill, rain & weeds - OMG! Got that going on here too :H
Good to be busy but hope you get some downtime too.

Papmom, I've enjoyed your quilting pics on FB!
The boys had a blast in the train tent the other day - it was a surprise for them.

Star, I hope your day goes well, travel safely.
Keeping positive thoughts about everything for you
You just may enjoy your alone time more than you can imagine. It really gave me a new perspective on things & I am actually grateful for the experience. I am quietly observing YB & he knows it too. He is just not able to tell me what's going on in his head. There probably always be a distance between us because I am not willing to open myself up for more hurt & pain. That's just the way it has to be & I am OK with it all. It just is what it is! He has been helpful & trying to go with the flow of life around here. He's also talking about retiring so I'm sure that had a lot to do with his decision to return to the roost.

I am OK, basically happy & grateful for my quits. I have kids & grandkids who love & support me so I have nothing to complain about. At least that's what I'm telling myself :H
Have a great AF Friday everyone!
