    Good morning friends

Looks like a sunny day without excessive heat & humidity is in store - yay!

Star, wishing you a good day, travel safely & have a great interview.

papmom, you certainly should be able to collect unemployment after a lay off. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise I hope you can start looking around soon for something better.
    How's Mickey doing today?

I need to get myself to Curves then back to prepare for the girls arrival. It will be another busy day & I am grateful to be fully present.
YB came in from work yesterday & announced he wanted to go look at a new car. Three hours later we drove back in a brand new Chevy Malibu, Yeah, that's how he rolls. I still think he's in manic mode but WTH?

Have a great AF day everyone! Greetings to Dill & Cyn.

"I am grateful to be fully present."
      I'm with you, Lav!

Busy day today. Looks like Mr. D is going boating with some friends so I'm going to get my GF and go to brunch and do some shopping. I don't have time for a long post, but just want to wish everyone a wonderful AF Friday!

Good luck with your interview, Star.

Papmom, sorry things are stinky at your work, but you have weathered many storms and you can weather this one!!

Cyn, thanks for another excellent suggestion. (setting a timer) I will use it for sure. Such a simple idea, yet so powerful, really.

      Greetings Nursie!
      Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

        Hi Everyone!
My Mickey is doing much better today. Even jumped up on the porch swing to lay down next to me. I'll keep him on pain pills just a few more days.
I strangely do not feel afraid of losing my job if that does indeed happen. I am already starting to look for something else and knowing I can do the early retirement thing makes it much easier. This time around I am not settling for anything less than exactly what I want!! Not quite sure what that is but I know what it isn't.

Star-how did your interview go? You are really on a roll! you must have some great experience and skills!!

Dill and Lav-hope you had a good day with your friends, kids and GKs!!

Although work has really sucked this week, I have had 3 great days of working out and it has helped my mood tremendously. Wed was a gym workout, last nite was swimming and tonite I took DD to the local rail trail for a two mile walk/jog. I've started the couch to 5K program again and felt really good. Of course it is only day 1/week 1 so I shouldn't get too excited LOL!! I think DD had a great time and loved the running. It wasn't too crowded either so we didn't have any run ins with other dogs. I'm really enjoying the different workouts I can do now.

Cyn-hope you got to enjoy this gorgeous day!!!

          Good morning ladies...

We were so busy yesterday. The interview felt good, but then I was emailed an opportunity for an interview that I really want in two weeks. This place wants you to present for a half hour to a group. I have never heard of such a thing before and I am NERVOUS. But willing to research, put together a power point and go for it. I have not done powerpoint for over 10 years and hope it is user friendly. I was reading the book RJ recommended in her last post and it is helping me to realize a few things.

If we think, feel, and behave in the same ways, our experience is predictable. If we change all that, we will change our future. I know, I know, you have been telling me that and I know it, what with the affirmations and changes we have all made. This just reinforced all of it I guess.

Pap, I know you will find something that is a better fit, where you will be treated with love and respect. Glad to hear Mickey is better.

Dill, have fun with your friend and shopping.

Lav, a new car, wow, he is strongminded. I love the new car smell, I hope you get to drive it.

          Have a great day.

            Good morning Star & everyone

Actually waiting for some morning rain but hoping the rest of the weekend clears up

Star, my son-in-law is interviewing for new jobs & just had to sit in front of a panel of 6 panel at an interview this week. My daughter said he was OK with it & apparently that's pretty common these days. Try to look at the process as an adventure - may be fun!!!

            Papmom, good news about Mickey!
Sorry work is such a bummer. Are you going to give early retirement some serious thought? It would give you a chance to get out there & do something you really like to do

Dill, hope you had a nice day out with your friend yesterday! Reminds me that I need to gather my lunch group soon, it's been a while.

cyn, hope you have caught up on your work projects. The weekend is meant to be spent doing something you enjoy, like gardening.

Speaking of gardens, yesterday we consumed Swiss chard & broccoli freshly cut from the garden - yum Cherry picking was fun & I now have a big bag full in my fridge.
Star, yes - YB is strongminded - no doubt but so am I :H

Wishing everyone a great AF Saturday!

              Good Evening Junesters!!

Lav-I so wish I could do early retirement and let it go at that but alas taking it now will only give me about 33% of my salary so i will have to supplement with a full time job. But, like Star said, I will find one that is a much better fit and where I am respected and appreciated. I haven't been for so long except in my part time jobs. I'm not adverse to working for the next 10 or so years, I just want to be happy doing it and taking early retirement will give me so much more flexibility. Of course the ideal thing would be to find another state job at my current salary where I could continue to contribute to my state retirement plan and retire at at least 60% but I don't think that is going to happen. Especially since jobs at my level usually require being a supervisor and its been made quite clear to me that I am not manager material (funny how I was a successful manager 16 years ago for 12 years).

Star-when it rains it pours!! I'm so happy that you are getting so many opportunities. It will be tough to decide but you will know what feels right. I need to check out RJ's book. it seems to have really helped you. You sound calm and ready to face whatever is thrown your way. How did the house showings go?

Lav-I forgot about YB's new car! always exciting! And you picked stuff from your garden!! I am really regretting not getting one started this year but I just couldn't afford the start up expenses. Maybe next year. Yummm, cherries. I don't think we have a cherry picking place around here. Was it fun?

dill and cyn-what's going on with you two?

I had a very nice demo today. A mom and pop Agway store about 45 min away. They are a new account for the company. Turns out "pop" knows my ex boss from the bird store very well (I worked for a Wild Birds Unlimited store for 7 years from 2001 to 2008-he went bankrupt but aside from that, it was the best PT job I ever had!). It was pretty busy, mostly for garden stuff and propane refills but I was able to connect with 95% of those who came in. The owner shook my hand afterwards and told me I did a great job. See, that's what I'm talking about!!! The store had great plants and supplies-I so wanted to indulge but I resisted. Instead I bought a squeaky $2 tennis ball for DD-I have dreams of making him into a retriever!! :H

Tomorrow is a day off and I'm hoping to work most of it in the yard. My nephew will come over and we'll discuss relocating the pond. It's being overwhelmed by the colorado blue spruce (that was supposed to be a dwarf LOL!). I didn't get it operational last year but would like to get it going this summer. He'll also design some sort of patio around it for me using all the flagstones I've had lying around for 20 years. All free for me-my sister will pay him a wage.

Better go scrunge something up for dinner-probably chicken. there's a change LOL!!

                Good Sunday morning!

Star, where did you read a post by RJ? I really haven't spent much time on MWO but I would like to see her post. I don't really have time to look for it tho, if you know what I mean. I have been trying to limit my computer time. It was getting a little excessive! Power Point is very user friendly. What will be your topic, if you don't mind sharing.

Papmom, you sound so very centered!!! I love your attitude of not panicking or stressing about the job situaion. I wonder if the good work outs have something to do with your solid emotional state. Anyway, I really think it's awesome. Your demo job to me sounds like a really fun way to make extra $$$. I wonder if I should look into it, just to have a little extra $$ and something to get me out of the house. For the first time since I retired a year ago, I feel like I would like to get back to work, in a very limited way, say just one day a week. I'm going to look into it!

Lav, Swiss Chard and broccoli fresh from the garden?! YUM! How did you fix the swiss chard? Mr. D was telling me he read on the internet that you can make swiss chard chips by baking it in the oven. Have you ever tried that? How's that new car? Mr. D and I just bought a new used car and we are loving it: a Ford Escape, 4wd for getting up our driveway in the snow.

Cyn, I tried your techique of getting started on a dreaded project by setting a timer. It worked pretty well and I really did stop when the time was up. This project is so dreaded that I think I will have to use the timer method for the whole thing!:H It's cleaning out an out building here behind our house. It is where our well and water pump are housed and it becomes a catch all too. Plus, spiders take it over too and it's full of dead ladybugs from the last two seasons! YUCK!

Must get ready to go to church. And we have out of town guests coming later today. Busy, busy!

                  Good morning friends,

Looks like today will be quite a bit nicer out after yesterday's damp start

Papmom, I hope something materializes in the work world for you! Life can be too short so we owe it to ourselves to seek out happiness.
The bunny rabbits have found my garden so I need to harvest & eat what I can before the buggers get it all :H
YB's new car is nice, he seems happy with it so far.
The cherry picking was great - I have a big bag in the fridge that I need to do something with today.

Dill, I cook the Swiss chard the way the Italians do:
                  http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/swiss_chard/
Good luck with your vehicle purchase too.
I really, really need to do some chicken house tidying but haven't been able to get started with that job - you know how it is :H
                  Enjoy your company today.

                  Greetings to Star & Cyn!

No big plans for the day, will see what develops
Have a great AF Sunday everyone!

                    Good morning...

Pap, the book I am reading, The Placebo Effect by Dr. Joe Dispenza is making a big impression on me. When I let myself get full of fear, anxiety and picture a dreadful future, I am actually working toward that very thing. Physiologically, our bodies respond to our emotions, effecting us down to our DNA, genes, all that stuff. He tells stories of people who focused on positive goals, feeling it, picturing it, and it changed their reality. The scary thing about it is that makes me responsible for my life, right? So, I am enjoying the book alot. Glad you get the day off to be outside, it is so beautiful right now, I love it.

Lav, we had lots of rain last night, daytime was perfect, today the same I think. I saved that Swiss Chard recipe, it sounded so good. Since I will be on my own, I can eat whatever I want. I will make it a point to enjoy being on my own, focusing on peace, health, good choices.

Dill, I have to do the presentation on the job itself, which is pretty cool as I like to research a place where I will be interviewing. Working one or two days a week would be perfect. Hope you find something like that.

Cyn, I am going to sest up time to work on my projects, and then move on. It is a really good idea.

                    Have a good Sunday.

Ugggh. I can't get motivated to do anything! It's almost 11 and I am still sitting in bed on the PC and watching stupid wordworking show on PBS. My neck and legs hurt from running and the demo yesterday (I hope) and I just don't feel like anything physical today. But, I have vacuuming and dishes/laundry to do and so much needs to be done outside. Ugggh. Oh, and never mind the sewing projects I could be doing!! double uggggh.

Hi Dill, the best advice I could give you on getting a demo job is see if you know anyone in the business-it's the number one way these jobs are found. next up is to get on FB and like all the companies you would like to work for. They tend to post their positions there. I.E. my company is currently looking for demo reps in the Milwaukee area. Indeed.com usually has a few on there and here is one for Blue Buffalo in Dayton, OH:

                        Work for BLUE

There are some agencies out there who hire the demo reps for the companies-I haven't heard good things about one of them but I have no idea what the name is. if you ever see a demo rep for the Natura products (california natural, evo, candidae etc) you might want to ask which company they had to apply to-it wasn't natura and it was pretty ugly for the reps who had been with the company even before they were bought out by Proctor and Gamble. Last year there were massive recalls on these products -surprise surprise. Before the buyout they were a company I trusted and whose products I used. Blue buffalo also uses an outside company but I haven't heard anything negative. Yet.
I would stay away from any company that goes into the big box stores like Petco and Petsmart. Just my preference. I prefer dealing with the independent retailers.
                        Good luck!

                          Good morning to all...

Pap, I hope you enjoyed some time relaxing. It has rained so much here the grass and all the plants are growing like crazy. I was pulling weeds despite the hot muggy temps.

Hello to Cyn, Dill and Lav. I am on my own starting today, so a new adventure. Focusing on a positive future with health, prosperity, and new employment and housing.

Lav, I am purposefully focusing on what I want, bringing in positive emotion, and meditating too. It is really starting to help. I see what you mean by protecting your thoughts, intentionally focusing on what is good. Hope your weekend was great.

Dill you sound pretty busy right now. Amazing how your family situtation turned out for the best.

Cyn, are you feeling better? Hope so.

                              Evening everyone!

Star-you are on the right path, I just know it. Keep up the positive thinking and affirmations. I am trying to do the same and think I see a light at the end of the financial tunnel.

Lav-did the vampire take a lot of blood? Hope you had a good workout at Curves. Still bringing them eggs to sell? Speaking of eggs, my neighbor's chickens were upset about something yesterday afternoon. I tried peaking through the fence slats to see if there was some sort of predator eyeing them but didn't see anything. I saw my neighbors last nite but couldn't ask them if all was OK because it was during the fireworks show that the local CC puts on for it's members every year. they are below my neighborhood and most of the displays go above our tree line so we get a great free show!

I ended up finally moving yesterday but didn't do any yardwork as it was quite warm and my body wasn't up for it. I did some vacuuming, dishes, laundry and cleaned out my sock drawer. Also feng shui'ed my bedroom the best I could. I had gotten a headboard with lots of shelves off of free cycle last year. I decided it was just a catch all for junk and creating lots of negative energy so i moved it to the office. I've also cleaned the storage out from under my bed (more negative energy and brought my big blue storage box that holds my jewelry into the bedroom. No more piling up earrings and necklaces on my bureau as I take them off. Now they go right in their place. Put away the sympathy cards and paw prints from the kitties' passing and just left the 2 urns on my chest of drawers. Everything feels better already.
Work wasn't too bad for a Monday. My boss only worked the last half of the day due to a personal appointment and she was busy catching up on stuff so I was out of her line of fire. For now. Still have 4 more days to go .
Day 2 , Week 1 of Couch to 5K along with a good hard weight workout tonite. Really looking forward to my swimming nite on Thursday IF my BIL doesn't deliver their gorgeous roll top desk to me that nite. I'm very excited about this-they no longer have room for it (the remodeling project took some real estate away from their study) and I get it!! I've always wanted one but could never afford it. Psych!!
Nephew did my lawn and started digging the new hole for the pond. I'm feeling very guilty that my sister is paying him for all this. I so hope I can pay him starting in August.

OK, I need to get some reading done (20th book in the Stephanie Plum series-waited 4 months for this from the library-had totally forgotten about it!!) and hit the hay.

Shout out to Dill and Cyn and all you lurkers out there!! Nite nite!

Up early, slept pretty well last night, my first night on my own. My pets are so great, they love me, keep me company and you just can't feel lonely with them around!! Two more showings of the hosue today, so I was cleaning last night at 10 pm. Just have morning clean up, litter boxes and vacuuming before I head off to work.

Really working on being positive, it helps so much. Meditating a bit, and that is helping with keeping calm. So, things are slowly getting better, and I have been working on my project and becoming more confident. I forgot that that is how it works. You begin to write, struggle, it starts to take shape, then becomes better and better. So, that is keeping my mind on what I want in a productive way.

Pap, glad to hear that you completed indoor chores and made things nice. The roll top desk sounds so cool. Your family is wonderful, and you so much appreciate their love and relationship. I hope to have that when I move. I have not lived close to family for so long now, about 10 years. It is really a blessing.

Lav, I had to think for a minute about the vampire comment. Hope the bloodwork comes out perfectly. You sound good and strong so I am sure it will.

We had so much rain yesterday, what a rainy June. I was thinking that when August rolls around, I will remember how green and healthy all the plants are.

Seem like the spam problem on this site is lessening.

I am so grateful to be AF, feeling healthy, waking up and ready to enjoy the challenges and gifts of the day.
