    Papmom.
That snake sighting was nearly 4 years ago when my last flock was new.
My current flock will be a year old in September
Sorry about the continuing money worries - there has to be a better way. My cash outflow lately has been making me a bit nervous too. I have spent $515 (just for well visits & supplements) at the vet this week for one dog & one cat The other dog went in late last month for her checkup. I can't keep this up, that's for sure.

    Star, hope you are OK,

        Hello all -

Star! Big hugs! We are right there with you!:h

So sorry not to be posting. I think I forgot to say that all my push to get all my work done was because Saturday we were headed out to meet SD in mid-coast Maine for a family vacation week (with dogs). So, I was trying to get everything done work-wise, with some cruel deadlines, and get the dog food pre-cooked, and pack up groceries, etc, etc, etc.

I didn't get done ahead of time, and so spent most of my Maine time on the computer while HB and his daughter did some sailing, exploring and shopping. It was good for the dogs, since they didn't have to be crated for days on end! (We rented a house that accepted dogs, but they had to be crated when owners were not in the rental).

Even though I didn't get much of the vacation part, the change of scenery did me good. One morning at 6:00 (the dogs got up at 5:00 each morning, errrrgh) I threw the dogs in the car and drove down to the harbor and just watched the early morning activity: crews cleaning the boats, loading supplies, small skiffs ducking in and out of larger craft - I loved it. The sea is something special.

So, glad to read about all that has been going on - Pap, sending you lots of good energy, with hopes that all turns out for the best, which of course it will.

I'm worn out, and need to do laundry and start all over with the To Do list, but I'm incredibly grateful that we had family time (no arguments or tears!), that we traveled safely, and I got to see the sea.

More soon - sending everyone lots of cheer -
        to the light

Last day of June and I am a grandmother. The baby is fine, of course drama, but it is all good. This has been a wonderful experience for me. I am taking the week off, helping hold down the fort.

No job offers yet, and that is the part that is concerning to me. So, I guess I will just continue to work and live apart from my husband for a time.

Pap, wow, you really have had a time with your pets being ill. The vet bills sound so expensive. Looking forward to your three day weekend. Good for you.

Lav, vet bills are outrageous. Who can afford $500 for one pet's yearly checkup? Ridiculous.

Cyn, glad you enjoyed the change of scene. I am too, it is good for me to get away for a time.

Any cool names for July? Have a good day.

            Good morning friends,

            CONGRATS to Grandma Star :wd:
Always such a relief when the baby arrives safely!
I take it you are at your daughter's house then? Wishing all of you the best
Maybe you can put the job worries off for the week & just enjoy your new grandbaby!

Poor Cyn! I was exhausted just reading about all you have been doing. Take some time for yourself, OK? :l

Papmom, glad your weekend went so well. I really enjoyed your sailing video on FB.
I hope your week goes well.

Well, today is June 30 & also my 41st wedding anniversary. I'm sure it will be a non-event as usual. Not expecting anything takes the pressure off

July thread names? I'll have to do some thinking today.
            Greetings to Dill & everyone!
I'm off to Curves for some fun. Have a great day one & all.

              Good morning all!

Happy Grandmother's Day Star!!! Wow - that is really an exciting event. Sounds like you are in exactly the right place at the right time. Enjoy it. As you know, HB and I have spent a good deal of time apart because of work - sometimes it's just that way - it will all be OK.

Lav - Happy Anniversary! Just remember, if he offers to take you out, make sure he takes his billfold! I truly do hope that you have some things to 'notice' (celebrate is maybe too strong a word) together. Cheers.

Dill - how are you doing these days? My dill plant is flowering, and looks just like your icon - love it. But PS, does that mean that I should cut the flowers off? I'm such a novice with vegies and herbs.

My deck tomato plants are chock-full of blossoms, and the cherry toms are already bearing fruit. This is very exciting for me...

Pap - sending you focused energy - so sorry about DD - hang in there.

On the warbler-family front, the parents are trying to get the hatchlings out of the nest! One almost fell out yesterday - I think the kids in the bottom of the nest are going to push out the big hungry one that always appears at the nest entrance - they are tired of it getting all the good stuff. Yesterday I saw a little head trying to poke out underneath the other chic, to the side, anywhere it could.

Star - I thought of you, watching these chicks see the wide world for the first time, and feeling terrified about falling out - they don't know yet that they have everything they need to fly - they won't fall, they'll just find their wings.

OK - off to pound out more words for people. I hope I can get out to the yard; the gardener definitely took last week off!

Wishing all a great AF day --

                Q

                Hi Everyone

STAR!! Congratulations!! So happy you were able to be there to welcome your granddaughter into the world! Please don't worry about the job hunt right now-just enjoy being with your family. You can start fresh when you get back.

Cyn-great to see you back!! I just love Maine-wish I could live there but not brave enough to leave my family yet-not when my dad is in his 80's anyway and just moved closer to me. I'm glad you got some "me' time up there even tho you had to work.

Lav-unfortunately $500 is the norm now. Hopefully your experiences will be few and far between. I've just been very unlucky lately. Mickey has had more problems since his muscle problem 2 weeks ago. I've dealt with them myself so far and so far things are improving. One problem is resolving quickly, the other slowly but I'm dealing.
I really hope YB acknowledged your anniversary today!! If he didn't, I might just have to come down there! Hope Maxie and the kitty are feeling better.

                Dill-how are you?

I had such a nice day yesterday-first with my dad and sis at the boat in the morning. We helped my dad put the jib, reefing and lazy jacks on. Then lunch on the mooring and a short sail up and down a small part of the bay. The wind was much stronger than we thought it would be and that combined with the traffic, proved a bit much for my dad. The sail home was much more relaxing! Then back to my sister's house for some pool time and a BBQ. I need many more days like that!! Actually I need to live on the sea.
Here are some pics of the sail:

Huge Catamaran that followed us back into port. I'm in love!!

Can you guess the name of the boat company?

                  Awesome pics Papmom
Glad you had an enjoyable day! Every day should be like that, huh?
The dogs & cat are fine. I'm still trying to get used to having a cat in the house though - weird.
We did go out for a bite to eat, I made dessert & coffee - so we're even :H

Cyn, the blooms on the herbs always look so nice but you really do have to pinch them off if you want your plants to continue to grow & produce for you. I've been pinching back my dill, basil & lemon balm on a regular basis. I toss the lemon balm in hot water for tea - yum.
I sat on the deck this evening & watched hummingbirds at the feeder & a robin splish splash in the bird bath. That really made me smile because I have my Mom's bird bath & remembered how she liked to attract the birds too

Hi to granny Star & Dill!

                    Good morning...

I finally have a little time to share.

Pap, I have a grandson, and he is a darling. I really needed the week off to get perspective and just get away from all the stress. I loved your pictures of the bay, the boats, just looked so beautiful and relaxing. I hope you do have more days to be with family and love and enjoy the day.

Lav, Happy Anniversary. Things are getting better for you in the marriage department, and we both know that long term, that is just how it is. Good times, bad times. Are we better off with or without them? It depends. Nice you went out to dinner, the had dessert at home. Sounds like the best summer for you in years. Good, you deserve it!!

Dill, thanks for the sweet pm, and thanks to all for the support. I am going kicking and screaming through the changes in my life. I am not making it easy for myself. Sending positive energy to your son and grandkids. It is tough to think about the future and what could happen. We know we have no control and our reliance on God is more clear in the tough times. I am reading a great book, My Life with the Saints," and the auther a Jesuit, talks about meaning during the tough times. When difficulties arise, we realize our reliance on God, unlike when things are going well and we are kind of smug, self-sufficient. It has given me alot of food for thought. So has having a grandson, seeing my daughter become such a great mother, and sharing the love with so many. It has been a spiritual, loving, emotional week. I am for moving now, I want to be in my grandson's life on a regular basis, even though it is so tough right now. He is worth all the challenges. I just go through times where I struggle. Nice to come on here and talk and get support.

Cyn, you are such a hard worker. Thanks for understanding how hard it is to be separated from your husband. It is something I am not used to at all. Gardening is so fun, I love pinching plants back, dead heading flowers, then watching them come back bigger and better. One year my son picked all the flowers off my plants and they were spectacular when then rebloomed a week or so later. The power of nature.

So, lots to do today, wishing you all a lovely and productive day.
