Come Fly in July! ~ on AF wings

    Good morning friends!

Couldn't sleep so I got up too early but what can you do? I think the Supermoon had something to do with that

Going to attempt to get caught up with yard work today. Everything is quite overgrown due to all the rain. I hope the heat & humidity give us a little break today.

Dill, the little ones are getting so big!!!
I've been donating bits & pieces of baby equipment for several months now
Your granddaughter is getting to be a big girl!

Cyn, I imagine you saw that moon last night! It was kind of hard to miss :H
Hope you get a nice day today!

    Greetings Star, Papmom & Sam!

Have a great AF day everyone!

Come Fly in July! ~ on AF wings

      Hi all -

No kidding about the moon, Lav! I didn't realize it was getting to be full moon time until we drove up our road at 10 pm after a dinner party, and there is was, hanging huge between the tall trees! Breathtaking - I read that tonight is the complete full moon...good luck sleeping!

Dill - that seems really significant, putting the crib away. Like turning the page on that chapter...and clearing the way for a new kind of relationship.

My lawn is a complete jungle, and I can't get to it! I'm trying to do what I can, little bits and pieces, but sheesh, the weeds are having a big party.

I'm working on more projects today, but taking off early to go see a dear friend in a production. She's a wonderful artist, so I'm looking forward to seeing it. But with the hour drive each way, it eats up the day. But what a day to take a drive!

Star - I hope you are hanging in there - same to you Pap. Have a great AF Saturday, all...

Come Fly in July! ~ on AF wings

        Good morning All,

Looks like we are in for rain today. It was cloudy yesterday and still is which really has me down because I had so wanted to see that super moon! It was not visible here I'm sad to say. The weather man says there will be a couple more this year so hopefully I'll get my chance!

Star, I looked for the book you suggested by Taylor Caldwell but it must not be in print any longer. It wasn't on amazon nor was it anywhere in the Ohio public library system. Others of hers are still available. Well, anyway, it wasn't available in paper, but it was available for kindle. It is officially my first kindle book. I downloaded it to my Ipad using a kindle app.

Cyn, yes putting away the crib is a milestone for the little one. She is so precious. But even bigger for me is the fact that I am moving forward in reclaiming my space! I feel more and more confident as each day passes that my son is going to make it and will not need to come back here to live. I have my upstairs back! The room gdaughter stayed in is once again going to be my sewing room! I'm very excited about this!

Lav, I was behind on the yard work too but managed to catch it up yesterday and the day before. I think I'm winning the battle against the weeds this year! My flowers are doing well. I think I'll have to remind myself how to post pics so I can show them to you. Is photobucket the best method for posting them? I have a photobucket account but I rarely go there.

Hey Papmom, are you enjoying your newly organized space?

Mr. D is 64 today. I'll be humming that Beatles tune all day. We'll be having a little cake and ice cream later!!

Here's a barber shop quartet version of it if anyone wants to be humming along with me!:H

            Good morning friends!

Saw that supermoon moon again last night but managed to sleep anyway - yay
I ended up having my oldest grandson all afternoon & his mother & brother here for dinner. That's one way to ensure you're tired enough to sleep thru anything (including supermoons) :H

cyn, I hope you are not worrying too much about the jungle out there. At least it's green, right?

Dill, nice that you are getting your sewing room back! I always had a hard time finding a space to set up my sewing machine when the kids were home. I'd love to see your flowers. Photobucket is good
to use (when it actually works) :H
            Happy birthday to Mr D!!!!

Star, I woke up to the sound of rain this morning. Supposed to go to 90 today with high humidity - yuck! Hope your day goes well!

Greetings to Papmom who looks like she's busy with dog activities this weekend. Glad I can check on her on Facebook.

I will be leaving soon to go to a car show with daughter & family today. We'll have lunch together as well. Better go feed dogs & chickens first.
Have a great AF day everyone!

Come Fly in July! ~ on AF wings

                    Morning all!
I had a tough day physically yesterday, so had to limit 'screen time'. It's been a while since I had a really crushing head and body-ache day, so I guess I was due for something. So far I' better today - I'm wondering if this crazy weather pattern has anything to do with it...chilly, hot, rain and more rain. My tomatoes are not too happy! But I have lots of them coming - I'm sure they'll be ripe just as I leave for my 3 week work stint out west.

Dill - I'm so happy that you are reclaiming your space - that's actually what I meant by it being a milestone - yes, in her life, but mostly in yours! How great to have a sewing room. I hope you and Mr. Dill had a good birthday day yesterday.

Lav - I forget that YB is there with you, until you say he's going on a trip. I hope all of that is humming along smoothly.Lucky grandkids and kids to be with you so often.

Star - sounds like it was a valuable weekend - I hope so! How is it with your husband out of town?

I am working ahead on a big project - I will be going again this year out west to work at a music festival for 3 weeks, so getting materials done for them, and getting the house and dogs ready to be taken care of by their beloved dog sitter. Since I home-cook for the dogs, my kitchen is looking like a dog food factory!

Hope all have a great Tuesday, AF of course, and with a cool breeze and a break from the rain.

Come Fly in July! ~ on AF wings

                      Good morning...

Lav, we had some rain yesterday too. Sheets of it, coming down sideways, whew. Today, it is in the 50s (I like it) with his low 60s. This is OK with me. Maybe the cooldown will come your way soon. It is not to bad being on your own, I can watch what I want on TV, or nothing, and read if I choose.

Dill, my husband does not like to be away, so today I am going down to look for an apartment. He wants a house again, but our house has not sold. I do not understand it, but it is what it is. So, not having lived in an apartment since the early 80s, this is an adventure. I have to look at it like this, it helps.

Cyn, you seem to have the most interesting jobs I have ever heard of, writing, working at music festivals. Then, I find out you cook for your doggies. What a devoted pet owner you are. Hope you feel better physically, can you rest at all?

Rereading Andrew Weil's 8 Weeks to Optimum Health, copyright 1998. Still a good read. I like the breathing exercises and the way he gently eases you into positive changes. He encourages news fasts, that I already do and agree with and limiting screen time. Since '98, we have more and more screen time so I think he is on to something really important. And, he enourages time with flowers, music, art, a form of mindfulness, again ahead of what is popular now. I am going to check out his website. Nothing like a good idea to keep you going.

Wishing all of you peace and strength, have a good day.

Another good morning zip-by from me :H

I'm leaving in a few minutes for a dental appointment. And I decided to postpone my grandson's overnight with Mimom until tomorrow. The weather is so nasty, violent T storms & stuff - I'll likely lose power at some point & don't want to freak the kid out

Greetings Dill. Have fun with your baby gift project. I need to do something for a niece myself!

Cyn, I am sure the weather affects all of us in one way or another. That's why I am always talking about these extremes. I hope things settle in the weather department very soon for all of us.

Star, every time you mention apartment living I get visions of a really nice granny condo!!! I've been having thoughts about one of those myself. I hope you find something comfy & suitable

Hello to Papmom & every one else!
Have a great AF Tuesday on e& all!

The craptastic weather continues here - isn't it time for a break?
There was a hint of sun when I got up but that's gone now.

I'm heading to Curves then to pick up my little buddy EB for a fun packed day! He loves to hang out here & spend the night & get some free time from his little brother

                            Happy Hump Day all!

Craptastic - that's a new one, Lav! Hope you are having a great day with your little one. He must think being with you is the bee's knees.

Star - believe it or not, apartment living can be wonderfully freeing. We've had to do it a number of times, and i always feel happier with less stuff around, less to clean, simpler life. When we moved east and had to live in that rental house that was furnished with the owner's things (uuugh!), that was a new experience for me. That taught me what things of my own that ABSOLUTELY had to have around me (teapot, for one). So it's all interesting. In addition to apartments, you might check Craig's List for homes for rent. My SD has found many of her rentals that way, and it has always worked for her - just make sure you have a professional look at the lease to make sure you are protected. We found that getting an apartment is as hard as buying a house - have all your financial information ready for them (last year's taxes, work stubs, etc,) and be prepared for them to run a credit check for every place that you put in an application, grrrr. But that's just the way it is nowadays. Good Luck! Sending you lots of positive energy.

Dill - how is the crocheting coming? Have you set up your sewing room yet?

I''m feeling better - it was probably the weather. Yikes, I feel like we're going to have to grow fins pretty soon just to go outside. But there's supposed to be sun today - cross fingers.

Shout out to Pap - cheers to everybody --

Come Fly in July! ~ on AF wings

                              Hello and happy Hump Day!

Cyn, I am glad you are feeling better! You sound quite chipper. My crochet project got off to a rough start actually. I made a mistake in the reading of the pattern so I ended up taking it all apart and starting over. But it took me a while to even figure out where I was going wrong with the pattern stitch. I finally figured it out and am starting to make some actual progress! But today I got side-tracked with re-organizing spaces again. I am in the process of emptying out a room and then I am going to shampoo the carpet, and move furniture back in. I'm pretty pleased with how this project is moving along.

Lav, I feel kind of guilty because I have had two absolutely wonderful days in a row, weather-wise! I'll try to send some your way!

Star, I haven't lived in an apartment since before I was married. It is a strange concept to me, but the more I wrap my mind around it, I think I like it. I liked Lav's suggestion of a "granny condo", too. It makes sense to me. I have so much less energy as I grow older, less to care for makes total sense!

I still struggle with organizing and parting with things that no longer serve me, but I am determined to streamline my possessions.

Not much else on my mind here. Have a peaceful AF evening everyone.

                                Good Morning,

I'm up and out early for a full day of child care. I just wanted to check in quickly. Say, is anyone still listening to the Bubble Hour? The guest they had on Sunday, 7-13-14 was really good. You know how we hear bits of ourselves in everyone's stories? Well, I really identified strongly with her story and I loved her optimistic outlook. Take a listen if you have the time. Anyway, she has a book coming out soon and she has a blog. "Mrs. D is Going Without" is the name of her blog and also her memoir I think. Very uplifting and positive.

Off I go. Have a great AF Thursday everyone!
