    SATURDAY 5 JULY

5th July and how are we all after a day of celebrations (or not perhaps)? Its Micks real birthday today I think so once more Happy Birthday.:day4: Enjoy the sun and the grub ? are you doing any other things or just blobbing and reading etc?

Lav ? hope all is back to normal after the power outage. We are having quite a storm here too but its got quite a polar blast to it.

How did the hike and the fireworks go SL? Sounds like a great day to me.

Well Pauly I can now join you in the not-so-green- fingers corner. :upset: One of my cacti died. Its bum went rotten ? that's the only way I an describe it! I didn?t over-water but it was never happy after I repotted it a few months ago and all the cactus bits fell over and died.

Det ? hope you managed to stay sane on 4 July with all the drunk partying. But my heart goes out to PPQP who is trying to evade the stampede ? another cultural and historic excuse for mass drunkenness. Hang on in there pardner (and excuse my trashy asides!).:H

Sam ? how?s the weather your way? Somehow you don?t strike me as someone who would get too excited about the 4 July hoo-ha ? but I could be wrong!:H

Patrice ? great to see you and keep the one-day-at-a-time. Holidays may be pleasantly fun without the haze of AL.

Good to see you too Bear.

That leaves SF ? how did your 4 July go? Did your lovely apartment dwellers use it as an excuse to filthy the pool?

So that's me ? boring old day doing shopping, some work work and cooking. I hope to catch a DVD tonight ? I get my drama these days from a Nordic tv series I am watching.

A quick dash in and out. Leaving for market. TT you're right, the 4th doesn't do much for me, I do like fireworks but the cookout etc doesn't happen. HOWEVER now I have another perspective: Mick's Annual Celebration! Another form of independence!
Gotta blast; greetings and salutations to all dear friends here.

Good morning Abbers & happy Saturday!

Thanks for starting us up TT!
Yep, everything back to 'normal' around here - whatever the hell that is :H
Going nearly 24 hours without power every once in a while is probably a good thing. It makes you humble & appreciate all that you do have

Sam, you will have a nice day for the market - enjoy!
Next week we get back to the hazy, humid & HOT stuff, yuck.

Greetings Pauly, SL, PQ, Det, SF, Patrice & the vacationing Birthday boy Mick!!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful AF Saturday!

Patrice - its The Killing - but I am watching the original Danish version (Forbrydelsen) and I am now on series 2. I also recommend Borgen and another Nordic series called The Bridge.

One of the great benefits of being sober is that I can concentrate on subtitles and I have far more patience to watch long complicated plots. Its like reading a book - almost! What I am doing late at night before I go to sleep. I watch on my laptop, tucked up in bed.
