mae all ..and how are you all today..?good I hear you say as one united voice!!pouring down with rain, but we shall see..off down to see my brother so its skates on time.
tea and coffee on the go..

hiya det ...hows you today then?did you know the first telephone was invented by one Antonio Meucci in 1853/4?..he never mentioned the use of electromagnatic waves or vibrating diaphrams thus leaving the field open for Bell..next time you wanna bore your mates..there you go!you still on the road?

morning bear...how are you this fine day??..and what is it you dont do???
I just read your posts ...three times...the first one..has the cat peed yet?well you know what they say...if you want something done..then do it yourself! :H
Second post..now that paints a picture..2 things jump out..work..and this woman..now what it is I dont know..I dont know where you work or what you do..but this woman in way shape or form seems to be giving you a lot of grief..and in some cases just by being there..from what I have read previously ..you are her manager?maybe there is a different way to deal with her..I ve got some suggestions, but it would be more of a managerial point of view, and its quite hard just to write it all down, without knowing all the issues.
secondly ..on your own admission you are a people pleaser..nowt wrong with that..again provided it doesnt impact on your beliefs, honesty or point of view, because if it does , then it is bound to have an effect on your life..if you are stressed..then that should be due to impact/levels of work and then you can look at it and priorities..not be inclusive of your environment or workforce..does that make any sense?it is a lot harder to write it than speak it!but I think those 2 points are fundamental in your well being and ability to enjoy life..without jumping into booze mode.pm me by all means if you want.

hiya SL...glad the jolly is doing well...your post...fruity drinks that are free. yeehah..always the best kind..freemans!!you can take the lass outta Scotland but you cant take Scotland out of the lass!!!!have a great day

hiya ppqp...yes ..do you a trade large coffee for bacon n eggs!Knock wood...wonder why you say knock and we say touch?how are the gardens doing now?

hiya Pauly...well done you..how has your day been?what have you been up to today then?working ,watching the kidz or both?

hiya Lav ..how are you today?well did you achieve your objective yesterday and do nothing?more to follow today?large brew for you madam?yes you are right ..stand back and take a look tho its always easier to find solutions to other peoples problems than your own!!

hiya Sam....hows you today?all good ? did you get the cylinders fitted on the machine then?and you are getting plagued with mossies..do you have Avon cosmetics over in America?if so try this..Iused it in the forces and also still use it when Im out on me jaunts etc

A plane was taking off from Kennedy Airport. After it reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom, ?Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to flight #293, nonstop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather ahead is good and therefore we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. So set back and relax ? OH MY GOD!?

Silence followed and after a few minutes, the captain came back on the intercom and said, ?Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier, but while I was talking the flight attendant brought me a cup of coffee and spilled the hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants.?

A passenger in coach said, ?THAT?S NOTHING. He should see the back of mine.?

When I got to work Monday, I was limping somewhat noticeably. My boss noticed and asked me what had happened.

I told him, ?Oh, nothing. It?s just an old football injury that acts up once in a while.?

My boss eyed me suspiciously and said, ?Gee, I never knew you played football.?

I said, ?Well, I don?t. I hurt it yesterday when I lost $100 on New York Jets. I put my foot through the television??

After being away on business, Tim thought it would be nice to bring his wife a little gift. ?How about some perfume?? he asked the cosmetics clerk. She showed him a $50.00 bottle.

?That?s a bit much,? said Tim, so she returned with a smaller bottle for $30.00. ?That?s still quite a bit,? Tim complained.

Growing annoyed, the clerk brought out a tiny $15.00 bottle. ?What I mean,? said Tim, ?is I?d like to see something really cheap.?

The clerk handed him a mirror.

He goes to the hospital, and is promptly admitted after being diagnosed with second-degree burns.

With his skin already starting to blister, and the severe pain he was in, the doctor prescribes continuous intravenous feeding with saline, electrolytes, a sedative, and a Viagra pill every four hours.

The nurse, who is rather astounded, says, ?What good will Viagra do for him, Doctor??

The doctor replied, ?It?ll keep the sheets off his legs.?

A husband and wife were sitting at the breakfast table and the man was reading the ads in the paper.

He looked up and said, ?Here is a great sale on tires!?

His wife replied, ?What do you want tires for? You don?t have a car.?

He says, ?Do I complain when you go out and buy a new bra??

Teacher: Well, at least there?s one thing I can say about your son.

    Parent: What?s that?

Teacher: With grades like these, he couldn?t be cheating.

A man took his wife to a Broadway show. During the first intermission he had to use the bathroom in the worst way, so he hurried to find the bathrooms.

He searched in vain for the rest rooms, but instead, all he found was a beautiful fountain with foliage. Nobody was watching, so he decided to take a go right there. When he finally got back into the auditorium, the second act had already begun.

He searched in the dark until he found his wife. ?Did I miss much of the second act?? he asked.

?Miss it?? she said, ?You were starring in it!?

    Morning all!!
market day for me in DC so it is a late evening for me. Mick, I've used the Skin so Soft before, works and I should get some more. Thanks for the reminder! I've been using cedar oil which works ok I got into a nest of very very small ticks yesterday. Felt them biting my ankles. I had my pants stuffed in my socks and they still get in. Anyway, there were about 10 -20 of these little things scattering on my legs. Sprayed my legs with cedar oil and killed them. Found a few on my back so I'm sure some escaped. Nothing beats the time I worked a place that was overrun with deer and got about 50 off my back and had rings of them on my ankles. Why I didn't get lymes, I'll never know. The cedar oil is good stuff too. When we had dogs, we got infested with fleas and spraying everything with it really worked.

    greetings to everyone. Gotta run

      Good morning Abbers!

Happy Thursday to one & all!
We're having some decent weather here, grateful for that

Sam, YB did have Lymes disease from a single deer tick bite years ago. That was a mess & I swear it left him brain damaged :H
Keep an eye out for symptoms & be sure to get prompt treatment if needed!!! Have a great market day!

Mick, I really didn't do anything yesterday but drive the girls south a little into Maryland. We had lunch at a cute little place on the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Crab cakes - yum They have some nice little shops there too but my granddaughter wasn't in the mood to shop :H
My foot is still the same - no better, no worse, ho hum. Maybe I will get some answers next week.

Greetings to all. Have a great AF Thursday everyone!
I harvested the first of the brussel sprouts last evening. Life is so exciting!!!

Morning Mick, Sam, Lav and all to come.....

Gardens are overflowing Mick. Didn't think that would happen with the late planting but I think all this heat has fast tracked the growing season. Was dealing with an administration issue all day yesterday, did you know if you email the President directly things happen. :H
Started our "Weeding Wednesdays" at the garden yesterday so spent some lovely time visiting with other gardeners last night. The city actually showed up yesterday to mark the berm move. I'm so excited! Hope the rain lets up and you can get outdoors.

Sam...I passed on Mick's Avon advice to my SIL as she is a magnet for mosquitoes and has very sensitive skin. I'll be sending your cedar oil advice on as well. Good luck with the market today.

Lav...glad to see the foot issue hasn't gotten you laid up. I said up :H At least you're still able to get out and about. Hope you get some answers next week.

Got a lot on the go so am going in regular time this morning. Hope everyone has a great AF Thursday......PPQP

              A hoy-hoy ABerooooos!

Mick, I love obscure trivia. as I recall the photophone actually predates the wired telephone.

later this month a world champion Muay Thai kickboxer is coming to town to teach a seminar at my buddy's gym and I'm just dumb enough to want to attend....so trying like hell to get my ass in shape quickly so I don't bugger myself up too bad.

ticks...ugh! they were terrible in the outback where we lived in Oz. always looking for the bloody things on us.

sun is out... I think a bike ride may be in order.

wishing you all a fabulous and healthy AF day

              be well

Thanks for the laughs this morning Mick! And you are so right, I have a very hard time saying no to free stuff!!!
Sam - went on a couple jaunts yesterday and found the best farmers market - the mushrooms were amazing, so much wonderful stuff and I couldn't buy any if it! Torture! This was the farmers market of my dreams! Flowers, honeys, eggs, shrooms - the culture and veg's!!! The avocados were huge! Ocean beach in San Diego!!
We took four buses and had ourselves a good day - Old San Diego had done wonderful Mexican markets - got some do-dads for my garden, girls got things too. Did not get lost on buses so all in all successful day out!
Brazilian carnival tonight - girls want to see the dancers! Sure there will be more free fruity drinks!
Hi Lav, Pauly, PPQ and an early Det!!!
Have a good day all - and no more ticks Sam!

gonna try the avon body spray - midges, mozzies and other bitey creatures they love me!

Mick I don't drink re work stuff that's really nice of you but I've got HR and my boss and we have a plan to get her out in 2 months at end of probation.Sounds harsh and it is,but there we are it's more about how I cope emotionally day to day.Thought today was a good day,I said no to her today and she took it quite well. She's off for a few days now so that's nice for everyone.

I'm shattered today - I think I've burnt myself out a bit with all my stressing,I feel lot calmer.I was gonna run tonight but instead have come home, put PJs on,hanging with cat - whose wee test came back fine(he didn't pee for almost 24 hours as he was so appalled at non absorbent cat litter).Very grateful for that as I do love the fluffy wee fella, and he's our only fur baby now.

I'm gonna run tomorrow before work,I may clean bathroom tonight if I feel like it, atm looking unlikely - may do sat am before friend comes over - can't be bothered today.Maybe I should be nice to myself and let myself chill.

I' eating out twice tomorrow - gourmet burger kitchen for lunch and then curry for dinner,I'm going to be sensible and have burger and corn on cob,and prawn dhansak at curry house. I'm not drinking so hopefully it will balance out and I should still lose, can be more careful days after. I'm eating more fruit and veg and less crap and feeling really good for it

Anyway - have a great day everyone and we're nearly at Friday - yay!!
