Well folks looks like we will be off-line next week as RJ advised. I changed by password today (as also advised) and so it also seems you have to log in every time you want to get on MWO – which is a hassle – and even more so would be for those who are desperate or facing a crisis. Especially the newbies as I know a week can be forever esp when trying to quit. Let’s hope we will all be OK next week – so take it easy guys over the weekend! It seems we can still log in over the weekend though.

Pie – that's really good that you rescued that dog. Will you keep him? Great that he AB worked out for you and I think its wise to take the dose the way you are doing. Look forward to the rest of the doggy tails (tales – get it)???

SL – you will survive a week without MWO. Better that than no MWO. Have sent you a PM. The fires where you are sound very grim.

Glad you are safe Det – from both the fires and the demon-you-know- what.

Lav – how are your demons – the cute little ones you babysit so often?

PPQP – sounds like you have a varied job – but wheat harvesting??? Great that the kiddies are larning how to weave it. In my country we have flax that is woven in all sorts of amazing ways by Maori.

Sam – time to get ready for autumn I guess? We put our clocks forward this weekend so the evenings are longer. I am not a fan of this – for me – they are quite long enough – and I like the cloak of darkness – helps me to wind down and go to sleep!

mae all...hows things today? all good ..coming into the weekend now all ready for it?seasons are definitely changing..but its kind of mad...Ive got a hawthorn bush in the back of the garden..well I planted it in the field so that it hangs over my fence! and it is budding and getting new growth..also the camelia bush is starting to bud...2 showings in one year?oh well fits in wi the rest of this mad wureld!!
yesterday wasnt so great ..bit cold and weather conditions werent right either..so the site is going to be down for a week?Im sure we will be ok..but lets go thru it all..I know that quite a few are in touch on face book and other means. mostly thru Lavs account ..see Lav...chickens dogs kids ..ex plonkies youve got it all!! bbt for you ..any plans for the weekend or kid minding?did you enjoy the lunch?

A guy asked for a goodnight kiss, but the girl rebuffed him haughtily, saying: "I don't do that sort of thing on my first date!"

A jealous guy caught his girlfriend talking quietly on the phone and immediately confronted her over his suspicions.
"Who was that you were talking to?" he demanded. "Is there somebody else?"
"Of coarse not" she groaned. "Do you honestly think I'd be going out with a loser like you if there was somebody else?"

A bank robber walked over to one of his hostages and said:

"Did you see my face?"

"Yes," said the hostage.

And then the robber shot him dead.

A girl was given a tea set for her second birthday. It became one of he favorite toys, and when her mother went away for a few weeks to care for her sick aunt, the toddler loved to take her father a little cup of tea, which was just water really, while he was engrossed watching the news on TV.
He sipped each "cup of tea" he was brought and lavished generous praise on the taste, leaving the little girl immensely proud.
Eventually the mother returned home and the father couldn't wait to show her how his little princess had been looking after him. On cue, the girl took him his "cup of tea" and he sipped it before praising it to the heavens.
The mother watched him drink it and said: "Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

When his son asked for a lift in his car just to get to the end of their road, his father told him: "You should be ashamed." When Abraham Lincoln was your age, he used to walk ten miles every day to get to school."

"Really?" said the boy. "Well, when he was your age, he was president!"

A small boy turned to his Aunt Mildred and said: "My God, you're ugly!"

His mother overheard the remark and was appalled. She took him aside and gave him a real telling-off before ordering him to go back out to say sorry to Aunt Mildred.

Suitably chastened, the boy went over and said quietly: "Aunt Mildred, I'm sorry you're so ugly."


A small boy came running out of the bathroom in tears.
"What's the matter?" asked his father.
"I dropped my toothbrush in the toilet."
"Okay, don't worry, but we'd better throw it out"
So the father fished the toothbrush out of the toilet and put it in the garbage. When he returned, the boy was holding another toothbrush.
"Isn't that my toothbrush?" the father said.>"Yes," said the boy, "and we'd better throw this one out too, because it fell in the toilet four days ago."

While a little boy was at school, his cat died. Worried about how he would take the news when he got home, his mother consoled him and said: "Don't worry , darling. Tiger is in Heaven with God now."

The boy looked at her and said: "What's God gonna do with a dead cat?"

Two telephone company crews were putting up telephone poles. At the end
of the day, the company foreman asked the first crew how many poles they
had put in the ground. "Fifteen" was the answer.

"Not bad, not bad at all," the foreman said.

Turning to the blonde crew he asked how many they had put in. "Four" was
the answer.

"Four?" the foreman yelled. "The others did fifteen, and you only did four?"

"Yes," replied the leader of the blonde group, "But go look at how much they
left sticking out of the ground."

A heavily bandaged man was sitting up in bed at the hospital when his friend came to visit. "What happened to you the friend asked?" "Well, we went to the amusement park and decided to ride the roller coaster. As we came to the top of the highest loop, I noticed a sign by the side of the track. I tried to read it, but it was very small and I couldn't make it out. I was so curious that I went around again, but we went by so quickly that I still couldn't see what the sign said. By now I was determined, so I went around a third time. As we reached the top I stood up in the car to get a better view."

"And did you manage to see what the sign said this time?" asked his friend.

"Yes, remain seated at all times!"

Good morning Abbers & Happy Friday

It's looking like a nice fall day here, sunny & coolish
Yesterday's rain wasn't as big of a problem as we were lead to believe - typical. I got out to meet my friends for lunch & catch up on gossip

Greetings TT!
We are just moving into fall here & experiencing shorter days. This usually confuses my hens but so far they are OK. I have lights on a timer in their house to help extend daylight 'laying time' :H

Mick, thanks for the coffee jokes!
I think I may be getting my oldest grandson for the weekend, just waiting to hear. If so that means I'll have to get him ready & delivered to school Monday morning. Looks like a fun-filled weekend ahead :H

Mae everybody,Mick that toilet water tea joke was too cute! i don't care for fall,it stays dark too late in the morn then gets dark so dang early,by then i'm ready for bed haha,but i guess i am ready for the weather to change,hafta swap out my summer clothes for the winter ones,problem is usually when i do that i hafta dig something out again as the weather here gets wonky,Louie poured 7-up in one of my favorite plants yesterday,i hope it's o.k,my hubs mom used to feed her plants sugar and they thrived,hopefully this is the case,well let's make it a nice Friday

Greetings all!

TT, thanks for your feedback on the AB. I'm very comfortable at this dose, and plan to continue indefinitely.

Mick, I am in touch with my very own MWO support person, should I need help during the blackout week. I think not drinking will be much less of an issue than just, flat missing everybody here. And I have the same reservations about facebook as you do, so probably won't use that resource.

Lav, same here with the close of daylight savings time.

The little dog was turned in to a shelter after owner fell on hard times of some sort. I'd share a pic with you if I could, but maybe better not to, as it's pretty graphic. Little dog will stay here with me for rehab, and when he's well enough, I'll work to find him a wonderful forever home of his own.

FRIDAY 26 AF September

Hi all - not actually too worried about no MWO - I have had very little MWO time this week and am surviving. I hope a week is not long enough to lose habits, and when it goes back up we can find each other easily enough. I have found this site hard to navigate - not as hard as others seem to find it - but it has made me less inclined to look around...I do value you guys and don't want to lose touch, but there is so much that could fill the 'found" time...
Mick and TT - thanks for the word about the time change - we have a bit longer here, but my Mum doesn't like it too much if my Sunday check in is off schedule:H
Yes, the fires are sad - but the rain helped a lot! Hope they can keep the progress up now.
TT - got your pm and had a go at replying; Mick - did not get your pm Have not been able to send a couple that I tried either, so maybe they are all wonky
Not much else to say - pretty fried this Friday evening, not sure why I am quite so tired....hoping for some rest this weekend, but who knows - making lots of miracles just now, wee bit too busy, but hard to complain when lives are being saved...

MAE ALL....

Mick...thanks for the support offer but like Pie I'll just miss everyone here. If I was going to relapse it would have been today. What a total disastrous day. Boss #1 screwed up twice with 2 different brides and I was left to sort out the mess. But I didn't stop at the liquor store on the way home, didn't actually think of a drink just wanted to get home to my routines and relax.

TT...yup I do where many hats at work. The children at our Out of School Care Program planted winter wheat last year but there wasn't enough to actually do anything with it. So we're going to teach them to weave it for Thanksgiving Center Pieces. The entire project will help the childcare program with their accreditation.

Lav...at least I'll have my weekend to myself, well other than my Dad visit. I'll try to post some weaved wheat pictures later. Enjoy your weekend, Monday will be here before you know it.

Pauly...now I gotta go look for the water tea joke. Must have missed that one. I like fall but agree I don't like it dark on the way and on the way home from work. At least I have a short commute. 2 blocks.

Pie...agree with you about facebook. I'm hardly ever on it anymore anyways. Was this a special occasion or do you routinely rehab dogs?

hooray for Friday eh? the weather has made a sudden and dramatic turn toward to cold/snowy here.
so it was a good day to make some soup and stay inside.

I'll be fine with the site being down, will miss you all but am in a good place mentally in my sobriety. there is also http://lifering.org/
and they have an active chat room which is fun.
