    AF Sunday 4 January

MAE folks. Can offer you tea and coffee cos its breakfast. Family still asleep and I love this time of the day. Soon we will be on the road.

Gosh SL, I was worried when I saw the word hangover on your post but I see it's the other kind. You must be so exhausted with the girls’ – and it cant be fun for them too.

You take care with the crap weather Sam. We are heading towards 30 degrees Celsius here – but its still cold at night.

Yes, Pie – it can be good to just come out to old friends about the truth about one’s drinking. I did this ages ago with a few very close friends and its now part of our ‘normal’. And if they want to drink that's fine as they know I don’t mind since they are not maudlin drunks or idiots.

I do travel a lot Mick but often that's with the job. This one is our summer holiday and me and my partner had to take 2 weeks off from annual leave over the past few weeks. We have tried ‘at home’ holidays and they don’t work for us. Lazybones would just sleep until midday each day and daughter would get bored as her mates are away. And I would crack the whip. This trip has kept us on our toes.

Lav – gas is really really expensive in NZ. It always has been. But so is airtravel and it usually costs a lot to fly out of the country. Public transport is really bad and we don’t have long distance train travel. So thems the options!
Love the pic of your hens and I am sure they enjoyed their seed treat. Can I have one?

Good to see you Eloise and you will see we are a strange lot here.

Are you on an offski today Mick?

Hope all remains as calm as can be PPQP.

And hi there Pauly! As well as Det.

OK I better rouse the troops and destroy my peace. My partner has slept for 12 hours and he is still snoring. I really think he needs to see a dr about this.

Have a great Sunday and it sounds like you better all keep as dry (haha pun!!) and warm as possible.

      Good morning Abbers,

Feeling lazy but enjoying the coffee TT, thanks
I'm sure you got everyone up & moving & are safely home by now!
I had to laugh about the sleeping 12 hours thing. I am positive that I haven't done that since I was a teenager! At this point in my life I would probably be so crippled I wouldn't be able to get up, Ha Ha!!
The seed treat I baked for the chickens was vegetarian. I used coconut oil for the fat, no lard or bacon fat, yuck. They really enjoyed it!

Mick, hope your day is going well - stay warm & dry!

Greetings to everyone & I hope we all have a good AF day!

                MAE ALL...

TT...thanks for the kickoff. Son seems to be making some realizations for the good. We both start work again tomorrow so hopefully routines will help. Hard to wrap my head around "summer holidays" with these temps!!

Mick...yup, you're definitely mad. lol Hope your day out was a success.

Lav...I would go with that "lazy" feeling and just relax today.

Pauly...no fitbit for me. I'm tired of people/things telling me what I should do. lol

Sl...you sure seem to have a lot more energy than me these days. Sounds like girls are better. Hope the shopping trips went well.

Narilly...good to see you. Hiding in the house staying safe and warm. Gratitude is I don't live one province over, windchill -50 in Saskatchewan compared to only -31 here. lol

Quiet day of laundry and getting ready for tomorrow. Being off for 2 weeks could see a lot to deal with tomorrow.
Hope you all have a restful and sober Sunday.....:smile:PPQP

Mick, Whatever made you go into that mudhole? I have to ask.

TT - today I paid $1.87/gallon for gas. (Not sure how the USD translates for you; I'll have to google it.) Anyway, lovely at the pumps, but not so good for our local economy.

Hi there, Lav, Pauly, and Narilly!

SL & PQ - You two are headed back to work tomorrow? As much as I love routine, not sure I miss that one in particular. Can't live off savings forever though, so I'll have to give some thought to earning a paycheck in the near future.

Meantime, I installed a new track lighting fixture to replace an old fluorescent one. Took me 6 hours, as I've never done one before. Seems like the kind of thing you could get good at quickly with enough practice.

                        That's it for me.

                        I looked it up: 2.39 NZD = 1.87 USD

Mick - seriously!!! Hope Julie had words for you!!!
PPQ - not sure about the energy - but finished shopping, no tears for me or girls, so can't have been too bad.
Pie - happy for you to go to work for me, have been enjoying quiet mornings with no alarm and tea in bed before the others awake - going to miss that so much! Don't even get it on weekends with all their activities! Almost looking forward to filling the car tomorrow

Congrats on your 2 1/2 years, yay!!!!

Pie, I was in Delaware yesterday & got gas for $2.50. I usually buy gas in Maryland because it's cheaper than Pennsylvania gas. Good thing I live in the bottom corner of the state, ha ha! Nice on the electrical work!

Stay warm, PQ!!!! I can't even imagine that Artic air, ugh!!
Good luck getting back to work.

SL, sounds like everyone is doing OK

Greetings to all & to all a good night!
