    yesterdays puzzles..

    The football match
You are refereeing a football match between 2 local teams...team red and team blue. Four of the 22 players on the pitch are called Mark (1 in the Blue team and 3 in the red team) and three of the players are called Sidney (2 in the blue team and 1 in the red team). Both goalkeepers are called ..reds is Brian, blues keeper is Paul
    The question is:
CAN YOU WORK OUT THE NAME OF THE REFEREE? YOU are refereeing

The strange case of Benny’s Sunday run
When Benny wakes up on Sunday mornings, he always follows the same routine. He takes a shower, shaves and has a light breakfast. Then he goes out for his Sunday run. He always follows the same route around Edgware/Stanmore and it always takes him 85 minutes from the time he leaves home to the time he returns.
One Sunday morning, he wakes up after a late night out and for the first time ever, just can’t be bothered to shave. He goes out for his Sunday run along his normal route and this time it takes him one hour and twentyfive minutes to complete.
    The question is:
WHY IS THIS? Both the same length of time

Which is right , “the herd of sheep is eating hay in the field” whereas Isaac says it is more correct to say, “the herd of sheep are eating hay in the field”. or “the herd of sheep is eating hay in the field” a flock of sheep

    Leo and the jug
Have you heard the legend of the evil baron who offered Leo a poor man, an earthenware jug? The baron told Leo that the jug contained a special liquid that would turn everything it came into contact with into 100% 22carat gold.
    The question is:
WHY DID LEO REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS GENEROUS OFFER? if the jug turned everything into gold, why was the jug earthenware???

I'll never forget what my Grandfather said to me just before he died.

"Are you still holding the fcking ladder?".

My mate played a knock knock joke on me.

When I opened the door, he was dressed as David Cameron.

"I would walk to the ends of the Earth for you, " said my wife after a row.

"Go on then, " I replied, "prove it. "

I was just cleaning the snow off my car when my neighbour came out...

"What do you think you are doing?" She asked.

"Just wiping the snow off my windows, love." I replied.

"Put my bloody cat down!" She raged.

The new Ghostbusters film really improves on a flaw with the original casting.

3 men trying to use a vaccuum? Yeah right!

I bought a book on Amazon yesterday called "How To Avoid Small Talk With Your Neighbours"

Don't know what to do now as they werent in when I tried to deliver it.

Good morning Abbers & happy Friday to all!

Mick, be careful out there in the snow. Sure hope your bunny is OK

We had another dusting of snow last evening, no big deal. Apparently we will be getting a couple of inches of snow Sunday evening during the Superbowl. Not a big deal for me but millions of people go out to parties & are dangerous on the roads even without snow. I will be home & safe, that's for sure!

Greetings to NS, PQ, Sam, Molly, TT, pauly, SL, Pie, Det & everyone!
I'm starting out with a trip to Curves then I don't know what, we shall see.
Have a terrific AF Friday one & all!

      morning all
just got in from feeding then off to work, what little there is, doing a little catch up as well. No big plans this weekend, don't have TV reception so not too worried about football. I like it that way, though. I don't see any ads!! Every time I'm around one, I am amazed at how fast the verbage and scenes shift. Fast talking and quick scenes! What makes America! Same other parts of the world??

Thanks for the brew Mick, hoope you're able to get your rabbit to the vet. Be careful driving.

Morning Lav, sounds as if you are having some consecutive days being an adult!

      Have a good one everyone.

        Have fun at Curves Lav.
Sam, some people only watch the Superbowl for the Ads, its funny how different everyone is.

        Have a great day.

Sounds like a lot of trouble for the poor bunny!
I am one of those who watches superbowl purely for the ad's - and sometimes the half time show.
Youngest birthday today - out for supper tonight - we rarely ever go out for dinner, so this is a treat - and bill will not be bad as no drinks involved.
Spoke to mum and dad - dad was outside shoveling snow off conservatory roof as it broke guttering last year - he is 79 for goodness sakes!!! My mother is a hard task master!

                What can I say? hersheys.jpg I'm a cheap date.

Lucky bunny to have you caring for her, Mick. Good luck droppering her meds.

No kidding, Sam? No TV? You're right about the speed of audio and image shifts, from what I can tell. Appealing to a younger audience, no doubt.

Hi Lav, Narilly, SL, Pauly, and all to come.

I'm home sick today. Taking things real slow in hopes of bouncing back tomorrow.

Sorry you are crook Pie - take care. Wet and wild here today but not cold - unlike our 'Our Friends in the North'. Brilliant mini-series I saw years ago and starring the youngish Daniel Craig
Our Friends in the North (TV Mini Series 1996) cast and crew credits, including actors, actresses, directors, writers and more.

Thanks, TT. Not familiar with the series, but copied here is a summary from the link you posted.

"A nine part series depicting the varying fortunes of four friends - Nicky, Geordie, Mary and Tosker - from the optimistic times of 1964 to the uncertainties of 1995. Taking nine pivotal years (1964, 1966, 1967, 1970, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1987, 1995) the personal lives of the characters become intertwined with the political struggles of their home town of Newcastle, and the capital, London. We also see the machinations behind the scenes that affect their lives, often for the worse: slum housing projects, police corruption, the rise of Thatcherism, political sleaze, and specific events like the 1984 Miners' Strike. MAE ALL....

Boss said let's shut er down so early start to the weekend. :yay:

Mick...glad she's going to be ok and glad you made it there and back safe and sound. As Narilly said we're expecting our snow this afternoon. The wind has changed, coming from the north now and it's got a bite to it. Only supposed to last 3 days then back to plus temps. Great pics, I don't think we're going to get that much this time but it's early winter days.

Lav...anything materialize for your day? We won't even get the american commercials here, they cut to Canadian content. But "they" have ruled that's a no-no so may watch the game next year.

Sam...I have a couple of friends who don't have a TV in there home either. They run a cattle ranch and if you're not doing chores you spend your time with the family. You can always catch the commercial online.

Narilly....made it home before the snow! You be careful walking home.

SL...sounds like you come from good stock. It's amazing what a healthy lifestyle can bring.

Pauly...glad Kell is ok and I know that shaken feeling. Hope Louie is good for you.

                      Pie...wishing you a speeding recovery.

TT...will check out the link now that I have some found time on my hands.

Picked up some baby back ribs for dinner so must get them in the oven for some slow cooking. Have a peaceful evening all and all to come......:smile:PQ

I grew up in Pennsylvania so eating Hershey chocolate is what we did.
Right now I live an hour and a half away from Hershey, ha ha!
I don't eat milk chocolate anymore, thank goodness!
I do stop by Neuchatel Chocolates once in a while. It's only 15 minutes from my house, LOL

Pauly, I'm glad your daughter is OK.

SL, you can't stop some old folks - they just do what they want to do, regardless!

was up at 4am and drove 650 miles today. I'm flat ass beat, but sober and happy about that.
going to get in some much needed nature time tomorrow.
                          be well everyone
