Ha Ha - Piggy Swissy is the name I've given to my Swiss mountain dog - she likes to EAT!!
Glad your grandson is better. I have my daughter & granddaughter staying overnight tonight. Tomorrow night my grandsons are staying over - never a dull moment

Cyn, I try to include non-dairy fermented foods in my diet as much as possible. I've experimented with making some & need to get back to doing that.

Thanks for the congrats everyone, I feel great today

Lav-I'm so sorry I'm so late to your party!! Such a busy day at work then my water class and dinner. Just now settling down. Congratulations on 6 years AF!! What a journey huh? I'm so glad I've had the privilege of making the journey with you over the past 5 years. You have been my rock many many times, more than you know. I look forward to traveling with you over the next 6 years and beyond!!
      :balloons: :biglove: inkele: :bravo:

I'll be back after I've read today's posts.

OK, that was a quick read LOL!!
Yes Dill, for me kindness in a supervisor has been a rarity for the past 11 years. My current boss challenges me sometimes and makes me stop and think about why I'm saying something. Again, always with kindness and in a collegiate way. I like that!!
Have fun with the kids and GKs Lav!! Never a dull moment for you!
Cyn-great find at the Library!! I haven't been in one for over a year. Miss it but OK with my Kindle books. Unfortunately I'm rarely awake enough to read. I've renewed the same book 6 times now LOL!!
Off to my meeting tomorrow. Got my loaner laptop and my new tires so I'm good to go!!

          Good morning...

Pap, enjoy your conference and being out of the office.

Lav, glad you had a nice day, enjoy the gkids. I hope to see mine on Saturday and get a little babysitting in. It is supposed to be cold today and flurries. But, next week looks like spring so the warmer weather is slowly trying to come and stay.

Dill, so nice you had a lunch with friends. I have got to read this book for discussion MOnday night. I put it off reading something else. What fun to have to cram reading a fiction book.

Cyn, I love books about health too, but need others to keep my mind busy and in a happy place.

          Have a happy Friday.

            Good morning friends!

No sun here, we had lots of rain overnight ~ better than snow

Star, maybe, just maybe we will see real spring-like weather next week! Keeping my fingers crossed!!

Just hanging out with my girls this morning & expecting grandson #2 here by noon. I will go meet grandson #1 at his school bus stop this afternoon & the real fun begins, ha ha!

Greetings to Dill, Cyn & Papmom!
Have a great AF Friday everyone!

Ok, the mystery of the Piggy Swissy is solved! Ha!

Cyn, Tessa is doing really well!. She will probably never be back to her old 'normal', but her new normal is pretty good. She gets out and walks with us. She lopes and sometimes runs, but not the all out run of her old days. She starts limping noticeably after about 20 minutes of exercise. But over all, she's improving.

Papmom, hope you had a good meeting today. Speaking of tires, we just had to replace to 4 and it was over $800!

Star, hope you get to see your grandson this weekend.

I had a really fun evening yesterday. The library in our little town was celebrating 10 years in their new building. They had refreshments and entertainment. I decided to go, even tho it was in the evening and I usually don't go out in the evening. It was great fun! Five years ago that wouldn't have been possible.

Lav, glad you are having fun with your grandkids. Mine is supposed to come over this afternoon. Hey, I am pming you about something. Want youknowledge ad experience.

                  Good afternoon friends,

Woke up hearing grandson #1 throwing up in the bathroom
That is progress though, the last time he got sick here it was all over my sofa. Poor kids, the germs they pick up at school, yuck!
The kids have gone home for a while but will be back later today.

Dill, glad you got out & about this week
I cringe at the cost of tires & auto upkeep but what can you do? Gotta keep the vehicles safe!

Star, I hope you enjoy your special visitor today!!!

                  Hi Papmom & Cyn!
We have had snow flurries here all morning & I hear it may be an actual snowstorm up your way - I sure hope not!!!

Have a great AF day everyone!

Oh, Lav! Sorry about the little one feeling sick. At least he was in good hands!

Star, I hope you had a wonderful visit with your grandson.

Hi Cyn and Papmom. I heard a brief podcast from a radio show called Viewpoints about cadaver dogs that was really interesting. The interview was with a trainer and author (Cat Warren) of the book, What the Dog Knows. You both would have found it interesting, I'm sure. Dogs are amazing!

Speaking of books, I have been looking for children's books that explain the true meaning of Easter and of Christmas, in addition to fun holiday books. I have found a couple of pretty good ones. The Best Christmas one I found was a Golden Book. Remember Golden Books? I found a good Easter one too, published by Ideal's Chilrens Books. I found a beautiful Christmas book that I had to buy for myself because the illustrations charmed me. It was called, The First Christmas by Jan Pienkowski. (http://www.amazon.com/First-Christma...jan+pienkowski) Of course I will put it up until December. The text is from the gospels of Matthew and Luke from the King James version of the Bible. My children and grandchildren do not attend church so I feel it's up to me to give them some exposure to the basis of these holidays. Sharing books seemed the best way to go about it.

I hope everyone is having a peaceful AF Saturday.

                      Good morning...

Dill, what fun to fiind some Golden books. Of course I remember them. I bought my grandson three Easter books, but the knd you can feel and open. He is at the age where he finds that fun. I don't know what will happen with kids not learning church values and morals. But, I understand with all the cruel mean Christians in the media, preaching discrimination and exclusion. It is a tough one.

Lav, having fun with my grandson...he is eating regular food now, getting into everything, and laughing out loud. So fun. Luckily, no illness this weekend. Sorry for you dealing with that. I do think though that some kids and people in general, tend to be quicker to vomit. It is probably just the way they are made. Better out than in. Glad hemade it to the bathroom. It makes all the difference.

Hello Cyn and Pap, have a great Sunday to all.

                        Good morning friends,

Sunny & 28 degrees - seriously. What happened to spring? Was it cancelled or something?
We had snow squalls off & on all day yesterday.

My son texted me last evening that grandson was at least holding down water by bedtime - geez! He wasn't a big puker as a baby & he's not generally a complainer. It must be the nature of these viruses going around the past few months.
Glad to hear your little guy is growing & happy

Dill, that Christmas book looks great! I think I just may order a few of them myself, thanks!
My grandsons do get to Sunday school but my granddaughter does not. I have to respect their parent's choices so I keep my mouth shut.

Not sure yet how today is shaping up but I hope I can get out for a while without freezing my butt off, ha ha.
                        Greetings to Cyn & Papmom!

Good Morning Abbers!! In the spirit of Seinfeld-"NO SPRING FOR US!!!"
We had snow on and off all day yesterday-not significant accumulation but enough to cover the horrors of the dog yard LOL!! That clean up will be delayed a few more days until it warms up and then YUCK! It will be very very messy! I am going to have a huge urge to buy a pesticide sprayer (empty of course), fill it with bleach and spray the whole yard at some point!! I also have an urge to tear up all the grass in the dog yard and replace it with decking. Far easier to pick up poop, even if its frozen I think. Sigh. Not how I want to spend the first 60 degree evening of the year!
My off campus meeting was a waste unfortunately and I won't be attending the next 5. not a good use of my time. The demo yesterday was OK, somewhat busy but it got tiresome explaining over and over why the inventory was so low. I do not have a good feeling about the future of this job-I think it inevitable that they will can the demo program after this year. I really hope I can manage without the extra $$ as I have no desire to find another one.
Got home around 4 and basically vegged out the rest of the night. Today I have so much to do around the house but its hard finding the motivation. The next few weekends are very busy so I know I have to get these things done today. Why isn't that motivation enough?

Lav-hope the wee one is feeling better today! My coworker is dealing constantly with strep and stomach bugs with her kids and has to take a lot of time off to care for them as her husband is self employed and travels alot. I feel bad for her as she is fairly new to the state system and probably doesn't have a lot of sick time saved up. One reason why I am somewhat glad I never married and had kids but then again I've dealt with a ton of pet sicknesses over the years (but only as they got older) so I do have some sympathy for you all!

Dill-nice post about the books. Golden books were a fav of mine growing up and my all time favorite, which I believe I might still have is the Bird ID book. Its in very poor shape so it was well read. Good to hear your pup is doing well these days!

Star-have fun with your GK today! Hope its a nice day and you can get out for a stroll with him. Any big cooking projects for Easter?

Cyn-how much snow did you get? How is everything in the NW corner?

10 more minutes then I've got to get moving!!

                            Happy Sunday all -

Yes, Lav there was snow here - Friday and Saturday, with bitter temps. Today is cold, but NO SNOW, and the sun is strong, so we're headed in the right direction.

SD here all weekend, so I spent Friday and Saturday cooking. We went out for breakfast this morning - there was no way I was going to cook more. Dill and Lav, I don't know how you handle those 'crews' of little ones. I'm finding it hard to get in a groove of recipes that are easy/fast enough to make, that are also things that I can digest. Problems seems to be ongoing - but, even two steps forward, one step back is progress, right?

Star- love to hear about how the little guy is growing up. Sounds like the fun is just beginning. Pap - hope you are having some good doggy time. Last week Monday and Thursday evening were more 'episodes' for my girl dog...I wrote it all up for my vet, who now is referring us to a vet internist. Onward.

SD just left, so now back to my projects. I'm sending everyone happy spring thoughts - even WE are supposed to be seeing around 50 degree temps sometime in the coming week. Woo Hoo!

My sister called from FLA around 10am. My oldest nephew's girlfriend overdosed on heroin either last nite or early this morning and didn't make it. My nephew was not with her and I don't know if he knew she was using. I suspect so but I am sure he was not into that at all. I certainly had no idea she was using and I don't think my sister did either. He is with her family today and seems to be doing OK although I've only spoken with him through texting. They had been together since this fall I believe when they met while working at Newbury Comics. This is not the one he was with since HS and all through college. They broke up last May before graduation. My sister is beside herself as they can't get home until midnite tonite. She and my BIL were down there for his sister's wedding. What a waste. She was nice, I liked her even if she was a little too punky for my taste.
